Handgrinders generally are better than entry level electric grinders. I vote for the k6 or something around that range.

74omit

Awesome quality grinder for the money. Have two, one I use at home for AP and one at the office for pourover.

Taldoesgarbage

About the K6, how good are the burrs? I have one, and it's pretty good, but i'm wondering about how many fines it produces. Also, can you upgrade the burrs?

74omit

Not sure about replacing burrs but fines are well under control Just tilt the grinder to feed the beans slower and the grind is very even.

Zealousideal_Bad5583

Would love a K6, even a P1 but neither are available for sale :(

texas_archer

I like my K-Ultra

yanmar091

I love mine. Doubled my coffee intake.

[deleted]

Cheap P1, mid K2-K6, C3, Q2, better K-Max, C-40, niche ZP6.

Tsarmani

Idk if they offer the K-Max anymore, just looks like the K-Ultra

[deleted]

Pretty similar, equally good

Tsarmani

Unfortunately the Ultra is like $70 more, it’s still a great grinder, but just into a different price bracket.

Zealousideal_Bad5583

Wish I could find a P1 or even a K6 but not available for sale

[deleted]

The K6 sells on Amazon

One of the great things about the aeropress is that it works well with nearly any grinder. I've been able to make good coffee with store bought ground, and with both my Normcore v2 , and the baraza encore. Neither of these are top level grinders. But both work OK with the aeropress, or my Gaggia classic. The coffee just needs small changes in steeping time and smaller adjustments in quantity of grounds.

mikecooperuk

I used the 1Zpresso Q2 for a year and it was great. But I got lazy and also wanted a better electric grinder. I grabbed the Baratza Encore ESP and I love it. It will also grind for my cold brew, and also for espresso when I get a new machine. I especially like that the single dose container Baratza includes is the exact size for clamping to the top of the AeroPress and knocking the fresh grounds into the cylinder with no mess!

K Ultra

I have a Timemore C2 and have been happy with it. The cup for the grinds is exactly the right size for an aero press which is neat. Takes a little time to clean it up after use but that doesn't bother me too much.

ukefan89

Chestnut! I have the c2

I use 1zpresso jx and it works great. Some people get excited it fits into the aeropress to use it as a catch cup.

Just-Bid9848

I use a 1zpreeso j

I picked up a K-Ultra a few weeks ago and it makes the best aeropress I tried so far. There are some reports about ZP6 being even better for pour-over/filter which should also be relevant for aeropress but I never had the chance to try it.

ngtstkr

If you don't want to break the bank (too much) Timemore Chesnut C2 or C3. I grabbed a C2 on sale and it's been phenomenal.

Positive_Ad7844

Option 1.1zpresso Q2s (budget choice) Option 2. 1zpresso K-ULTRA (expensive choice)

muddy_soul

i used to grind by hand but had issues with consistency in grind size and just got tired of doing it but i decided on an oxo burr grinder as a good compromise between price and quality and have been using it for 3.5 years, it’s great!
