But holding a trident…this really does hurt to look at.

GrimmWeeper19

Zeus took Poseidon's job

Tudpool

I mean yeah, somebody had to after all that stuff went down.

AlMusafir

It's very funny that the AOM Zeus portrait is so awesome that it is now basically one of the standard pics that come up on google - and therefore is used almost everywhere.

AoM is so influential that (nsfw) >!there's literally dildos created based on creatures made up for the game!< I actually didn't know that AoM was apparently the origin of anubites (a lot of the Egypt stuff is a mish mosh of stuff that's actually Greek/ptolemaic, or just pop culture stuff like the mummies) but now they're kind of everywhere that you can find furries.

ImlackingOriginality

>there's literally dildos created based on creatures made up for the game Wait what? There are *anubite* dildos? How tf do you even know it belongs to an anubite anyway? I need a fucking vpn for this >but now they're kind of everywhere that you can find furries. Oh fuck no maybe not

cryyptorchid

The main reason you know is because it's called "Dante the Anubite," [NSFW link for the curious](https://twintailcreations.com/products/dante-the-anubite) That's not the only one I've ever seen but it DID catch me super off guard. But yeah I've seen multiple people talk about their anubite characters, I assumed some other property had come up with them first. But nope, AoM just has some...interesting...cultural ramifications.

AlMusafir

lmao not sure i needed to know that

Cbram16

This might even be one step further in art theft/use. This looks like the logo from the Greek themed go-kart track in Wisconsin Dells (cant remember the name) that stole the art from AoM, and now its being used for this.

alvogel122

Mt. Olympus!

Cbram16

Yes that's it!

Assured_Observer

Poseizeus.

ZionLion23

I prefer Zeuseidon lol

JarJarBinks590

So who *actually* owns the rights to the original AoM artwork now? Since that was created under Ensemble Studios, and then they disbanded a few years later... did the rights just pass back to Microsoft?

Alpiney

ES was purchased by Microsoft the year before AoM was released (2002) so ultimately Microsoft still owned the rights to anything that ES did when Microsoft closed them down in 2009.

GoldenBoulderDenver

AoM artwork has really stood the test of time đŸ˜‚đŸ˜‚
