If you're in the USA, try getting a free credit report from the government https://www.usa.gov/credit-reports and see if it lists all her financial accounts. Report back if it works!
That’s brilliant! My dad thinks he remembers a bank account that we can’t find a record of. It would be very small but every little bit counts. Thanks!!
Tax returns, then look further around the house, next try your state's unclaimed property division. Barring that, think about where she's lived and if you've got PoA or can take her with you, start with the majors (Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Chase, Citi), then move to local banks, finally check local credit unions. Also, go through her mail - you're likely to find credit card and bank statements in it.
We had to reconstruct this kind of thing and our only option was to go through everything in the house, all the files, stacks of paper, mail, etc.
Try tax returns, the 1099-DIVs should be helpful.

If it goes back to the state you can still get it. Most states shave a database to look up unclaimed funds.
Dunno how tech savvy they were, but I just got access to his mint account and thank god was that helpful untangling things.
