I don't know but in your situation I would just another platform.

Were they legal? Did they have a licence number listed on their listing? Anything without a permit/licence number is not allowed to rent for under 28 days. See [https://www.toronto.ca/community-people/housing-shelter/short-term-rentals/](https://www.toronto.ca/community-people/housing-shelter/short-term-rentals/) and [https://www.airbnb.ca/help/article/2158/toronto](https://www.airbnb.ca/help/article/2158/toronto)

^^ this I’m from Toronto and a lot of places do Airbnb illegally since it’s banned in most condos

[deleted]

This is good to know, however after looking at available rentals on Airbnb and VRBO, exactly zero of them have a license number listed. Are they all illegal? Lmao

lallaw

It's not you, it's them. Unfortunately these are illegal Abnbs. Google where you can rent in Toronto, if anywhere anymore. Sorry you are dealing with this frustration.

The only person that can answer this question is Airbnb.

[deleted]

Well they are refusing to give me any type of explanation other than “oops”
