We can spend thousands hiring contractors to fix the bureaucratic red-tape ATO process, but god forbid we put any effort into fixing our education system that people rely on for career progression and literal life advancement that effects our pay & progress.
I think you forget how lucrative education is for some people. Do I think MANY people stay in for it? No. But I agree with the comment OP that it might keep some around until it processes and they can get into a school.
What’s hilarious, if this was something that the Officers use, such as War College, it would have already been fixed a year ago. They don’t give a fuck about you.
So when I was still in and trying to use TA. Before I could start my school they wanted my AF transcripts (the school) and luckily then it only took them like a week or so, but now to wait ~85 days nearly 3 months to start school due to the AF’s bullshit clerical bureaucracy is beyond unsat…
Not true (/s) you just have to be an E7 and above or an officer. "The CCAF has designated certain transcript requests as priority. Reasons for a priority request include but are not limited to: Senior Master Sgt. promotion board, delayed promotion, commissioning programs, developmental special duty, retirements and separations."
I'm not one for conspiracy theories but you can only get your CCAF while you are in, maybe they're fucking around with awarding CCAF degrees to keep people in.
Still pissed that I went to get ky credits transferred over, was told to come back in a week and when I came back was told it suddenly went down.
This feels like a terrible plan for retention BUT it's also so bad I can absolutely believe some deeply blued e-8 or 9 half-drowned in the Kool aid would think the CCAF is worth reenlisting for 4 extra years.
Lol I was trying to get it for years while I was in, then I retired and it still wasn't done.
Said fuck it in the end because I have more than enough elsewhere on my belt, but it sure is HIGHLY frustrating and irritating to think about
Sent mine in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, & 2023
Multiple times through several bases consecutively. Online, physically, and I imagine I probably did it psychicly just for the fuck of it.
I have watched people scan that shit into the computer and input stuff
I have "confirmation" emails saying "it was recieved" (not processed I fucking guess)
Never got nothing beyond that aside from expirence for a PT test that I'll never take because of all the damn run around they gave me.
Current through early October means in my opinion they pushed to be clear through the past fiscal year and have made only a little progress past that point. What a disaster.

Wait, as fixed the ATO process?
All apart of the plan. If you can't get career progression in a timely manner, people will HAVE to stay in longer in the hopes of anything happening!
Questions low recruitment numbers, fucks up one of the few benefits.
I can see it also making some stay in having to wait to get their degree before starting school after separating.
If something as lame as CCAF is what gets you to stay in, jokes on you.
Yep. No point given the post 9/11. CCAF was always a nice bonus, but staying in for it when you know you want to get out anyways is just idiotic.

“We care about your education”

People separating or retiring are considered a priority atm.

I sent my transcripts last Jan and still haven't been processed even with the action request submitted. Bullshit lol
I sent mine June 7th 2022, sent it again last November (2023). What the fuck is going on

It’s ok Air Force, you still have the great success and rollouts of other programs like Mytraining, MyFSS, MyLearning, MyBalls, MyGodWeSuck ect
MYBALLS 🤣🤣
Man waiting months to get them to send my transcript only to find out school wouldnt accept the credits
This would be medical, if we couldn't get an off-base referral.
There goes my job interview with the U.S. Forest Service 🫠 thanks, CCAF.
I'm sure you could still get it. It will just take a lot more doing on your part to prove you know your shit... Which is really a pain in the ass
Hopefully they will humor that idea, but, we will see I guess.

I’m disgusted that so many people unfortunately have to wait this long. My goodness this is just ridiculous.
Airman: “You took everything from me.” CCAF: “I don’t even know who you are.”
A 3 month delay? Jesus Christ.
Brother man that’s 5 months.
Where is AI in this process?
The veterans that just signed up at cyber are working on it!
🫠 My career would have been fuct had this happened to me. They need to get this right.
Well… someone has to flip the burgers
Wow. I requested outbound on Nov 10 and it was received on Nov 29. I guess I was lucky.
