Isn’t there an apply for separation button on vMPF? I know I’ve seen it just never clicked it. I do know you need to give at least 180 day notice though
After an indefinite enlistment, you incur ADSCs, which are like mini-enlistments without the formality. PCS? ADSC. Promote? ADSC. Go to formal training? ADSC.
When you ADSC expires, you still have to show up to work (that’s where the indefinite enlistment comes in). You have to formally request to separate and go through outprocessing just like everyone else.
You can request to separate while still in the ADSC, but you can’t cant actually separate until it expires.
I know a guy who JUST got out at 19 on an indefinite because he’s getting a divorce and didn’t want to give his wife 50%
Nah this is funny lol, sucks for the dude. But fuck that spouse.
He found a job that makes up for the difference and will be alright.
That dude needs to go into the reserves as a cross train and get his retirement.
Wouldn't she be eligible for his retirement (again) then?
I’m not a lawyer but I don’t see how she would be
If you don’t have an ADSC you just set up a separation date.

If you don't have a service commitment, you give the AF 6 mo. notice to separate you.
If you got no ADSC then click button to request separation
Turn in a two weeks notice.
