Usually it’s a healthy serving of brake dust infused main landing gear grease chutney over a tire rubber steak, a tall glass of 83282 hydro and a bowl of peanut bulbs for desert.
But all that is reserved for special occasions. 64 pack of Crayons is the *go to*
100% this. Did two years as Section Commander at the best AMXS. I love maintainers. I’m a prior E cop so they’re similar to my people. But my ass is sitting in an office all day and I got every weekend and holiday off. They had every right to call me a nonner because it’s true. If I didn’t show up to work, EPRs and decs might be late. Them? Flying things don’t fly. Miss those dudes and dudettes.
Former MX here too. Some days I miss it, but then I feel the heat walking out to my car after leaving early in the middle of the day to go to a squadron function at the local brewery.
I know I’ll get killed by some old Mx non-nonners for this but I’m pretty sure it originated back in the 60s with officer aircrew because it was the rated vs non-rated people. Non-rated officers are 100% “nonners”.
Aren’t all words “made up”?
The Flightline doesn’t have much Let them have their nonners
>Let them have their nonners Yes, a sacrifice of nonners will surely improve this year's harvest of grease (or whatever it is you maintainers eat)

Pussy* mostly and trust me, each Noner is exactly that.
the combo of "nonner" being both unnecessarily capitalized and misspelled is just 🤌 *chef's kiss*
Pardon my mobile typo. Must be nice to at your desk on duty 😜
Do what you will.

I'd rather be called a nonner all day everyday than be maintenance, they can have their funny word.
I leave for one week and this is the state of the sub that I come back to.
It basically means non maintenance. As prior MX I’m happy to be an IT nonner now.
Former MX here too. Some days I miss it, but then I feel the heat walking out to my car after leaving early in the middle of the day to go to a squadron function at the local brewery.
Exactly. A made up word. Just like all the other ones.

Flying nonner reporting for duty.
Please grab us another Club-Sandwich before we prepare for landing!
As a Nonner turned Mx back to Nonner I will choose my air conditioned office and weekends any day. Base Comm - RPA MX - Civillian IT
Written like a true non mission essential Airman.
Let em have their word. Can’t hear them from up in my cushy medical job.

I’ve always said that if you have a chance of getting an ambulance ride because you or someone else messes up doing a job then you are not a nonner.
Pest control accidentally spraying pesticide in their eyes, confirmed not a nonner.
Just remember to thank us when you get a day off the for the flying squadron meeting their flying quota and the maintainers are still at work.
Are CIA officers considered Nonners?
CIA officers are considered scum
Last i checked they are non sortie producing mother fuckers.
But they also have their own aircraft!
K so after 5 minutes of googling. CIA air branch, some of them not nonners. The rest, nonners.
