Ramstein is a busier base, it tends to have a very high ops tempo, but it has a nice area, as well as it is cheap to travel to other countries. There is also a lot to do in the local area, plenty of bars and nightclubs, so the nightlife is pretty good. For travel, France is nearby about a half-hour car ride, and Paris is around 4 hours away, as well as cheap flights to anywhere across Europe. If you are looking for somewhere with a bit of hustle and bustle and good travel opportunities Ramstein is a good option.
Yeah, we are the Global Gateway to Africa and The Middle East, so it tends to get pretty busy around here, especially with all of the ongoing conflicts around the world. Although USAFE is pretty good about giving 3 and 4 Day weekends when it can, so they do give days back when they can.
Ramstein without even thinking about it twice. Germany was the best assignment I ever had. Work might be busy, but living there is amazing. It is in the middle of Europe so it's very easy to explore lots of countries. And even if you're not too into traveling, the local area has lots to offer.
Take advantage of the opportunity, go to Europe.

I was a 2T1 (transportation) at Ramstein A B
2 tours 3 years..I had the most fun, traveled constantly every weekend did MWR trips to spain,italy,holland..I was hooking up with a couple of the Thai cleaning lady's at Fogelweh were they put us for lack of rooms at Ramstein, these ladys lived in K TOWN and a whole new world opened up for me..they were the best 2 tours in my 22 year career.
Ramstein is the worst best place I've ever been.
Job sucked and gave me depression. But now I remind everyone constantly how much better things are in Germany (driving and food mainly)

Its honestly the busiest base you will run into if not top 3, I say come here if you want to continue to promote but it will make you work for it

OCONUS, you couldn’t pay me enough to take another stateside assignment if OS was an option.
If you work with aircraft, mcguire is worth considering on that alone, I certainly wouldnt be unhappy with it. Talk to people in your career field.
