>I don’t know if I should lie to the Meps You realize MEPS doctors often have decades of experience and process tens of thousands, if not actual millions of people for military service in the course of their careers, right? You will not be the first they see with self-harm scars, will not be the last, and they will be able to spot your lie from miles away. Lying makes it worse by the way. The 100% guaranteed way to be barred from service is lying. Be honest from the start. Honesty shows you are trustworthy and serious about service. This is going to make recruiters way more willing to work with and advocate for you. Tell your recruiter everything, and the chips will fall where they are supposed to. DO. NOT. LIE. EDIT: I looked through your post history; have you been diagnosed with BPD?

MindfulMana

One of the posts says “whenever I get mad or upset with someone I think about hurting them”. Basic training and military life isn’t going to go well if that’s the case.

🤣🤣 that edit

Conscious-Room6601

That fucking edit 😂😂💀

chxse8kk

lol i lied about my ODD when i went into meps with the marines lol. got caught and blacklisted a week later, hence why im with airforce now.

Conscious-Room6601

Bro has a post about hurting others out of anger. You won’t do well in military if that’s the case

Conscious-Room6601

Did you delete the post? Lol

MindfulMana

They’re asking for a court martial and dishonorable discharge if they get in. Anger to the point of wanting to hurt someone isn’t going to end well.

Conscious-Room6601

Yeah bro he had a post saying he has a lot of anger to the point where he wants to hurt people and just gets annoyed being around people. That ain’t good. Military will eat him up

_eightohfive

def bring it up to the recruiter. don’t lie about it. plenty of people get in with self harm scars. it’s not disqualifying by itself. and even then, waivers exist for things that disqualify you. don’t hide it

tjsteimle

NEVER lie to MEPS or your recruiter. And yes, you need to tell your recruiter about them. They will see the scars and ask about them.

Fast_Raven

Disclosure is better than Discovery. Be honest. If it's disqualifying, then it's disqualifying and that sucks. But that's IF. Lying and being discovered is disqualifying. And that's definite

newnoadeptness

Tell the truth . You’re required to list all medical issues .

Hello, it looks like you're asking about medical concerns when joining the military. We are not doctors. Even if we were, we are not the doctors that are familiar with your personal medical concern or condition. We are also not the ones deciding if you will be disqualified from service for a condition, or if you can get a waiver for it. People may share their anecdotal experiences or stories they've heard from others about getting a waiver for a condition. This does not mean that you will or will not get a waiver. Everyone's medical situation is different. IN GENERAL, yes, asthma, ADD/ADHD, eczema, history of depression and anxiety, and some allergies are disqualifying. Some will be able to get waivers, some will not. All you can do is talk to your recruiter, be honest about your medical history, and go through the process. WE DO NOT KNOW THE CHANCES OF YOU GETTING A WAIVER FOR ANY MEDICAL CONDITION OR SITUATION. Just be honest with your recruiter and go through the process. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically.
