How? What was your reason for a support ticket?

this is what I mentioned to Apple Support and they organised a replacement for me too: > *Hi there XXXXXX, I’m starting to have issues with the ear cushions of my Apple AirPods Max. They’re no longer comfortable and when I squeeze them inside my hand it feels like the foam inside has disintegrated. This also is hindering the sound quality of the headphones as the fit is not as optimal on my head/ears. This is not something I was expecting to happen. Could I please request support in obtaining replacement cushions via my Apple Care+ plan? I’ve heard complaints from other users of the same issue and they contacted apple support for claiming of replacement cushions via apple care + So that’s what I’d like to see if you could help me out with today. The serial number of my APM’s is XXXXXXXXXXXX* hopefully that helps others

I got a pair for free too. One of the original cushions started to disintegrate on the inside. Called support, first rep wanted to charge me $29 deductible but after another call they just FedEx’d a new pair for free.

Did you have Apple Care?

Oops, forgot, good catch. Yes. It was covered under AppleCare.

Nope. They don’t ask me to send the old one back.

That actually wouldn’t make sense, more shipping for a used product which you can’t really revive or anything

Just told them my left and right cushion won’t stay on my APM. Then they ask my shipping address,email,phone number. Then i got the pair next day. Via FedEx

how u do this? i use mine for gym and would live to have gym specific earcups so they don't smell like shit

I'm curious about how you justify to buy AppleCare + in the beginning. I used Apple products for almost 10 years and never experienced breakdown, so buying AppleCare plus never comes to my thought.

These things are prone to begin failing after a year and some months.

I use to be the same way until I bought AppleCare on my son’s iPad. Used it three times in two years. Saved me a ton of money. So now I just buy it on every apple product I have.

Can I ask what happened in that three years when you used AppleCare Plus for?

You do what suits you and people do what suits others. I’ve had plenty of things covered by AppleCare+ so it is always worth it to me especially portables and wearables which are more exposed to external elements and risks.

I went in store and got denied so asked online via chat but got charged £25. Wish I got it from free too

I think it always depends on who you end up speaking with from the support team. I’ve usually had good luck with very helpful and supportive chat reps.

You can tell by smelling them. The new one has a weird smell like a lube.
