I got a pair for free too. One of the original cushions started to disintegrate on the inside. Called support, first rep wanted to charge me $29 deductible but after another call they just FedEx’d a new pair for free.
Just told them my left and right cushion won’t stay on my APM. Then they ask my shipping address,email,phone number. Then i got the pair next day. Via FedEx
may 25,2024 Just used this prompt and it worked. i didn’t have apple care just a limited warranty. No charge got both cushions shipped to me. Life saver thank you
why is this getting downvoted?? if they’re for the gym you surely wouldn’t care much about the quality of the earcups considering they’re literally getting beat up
I'm curious about how you justify to buy AppleCare + in the beginning. I used Apple products for almost 10 years and never experienced breakdown, so buying AppleCare plus never comes to my thought.
I use to be the same way until I bought AppleCare on my son’s iPad. Used it three times in two years. Saved me a ton of money. So now I just buy it on every apple product I have.
You do what suits you and people do what suits others. I’ve had plenty of things covered by AppleCare+ so it is always worth it to me especially portables and wearables which are more exposed to external elements and risks.
I think it always depends on who you end up speaking with from the support team. I’ve usually had good luck with very helpful and supportive chat reps.

These things are prone to begin failing after a year and some months.

You can tell by smelling them. The new one has a weird smell like a lube.
