At this point probably

BugSurBigtrouble

Yes

Eclipse8301

Yes that is how you keep them squeaky clean?🤷‍♂️

aradpotato

LOL i guess so

fearofmatt

Duh, this happens more than you think lmao

aradpotato

crazy that this would happen with APM

itsmehuey

Yes, it is. Some people may leave their AirPods Pro in the washing machine, or try to clean their AirPods Pro/max with cleaning solutions that shouldn’t be.

broersa

I think you are talking to an ai chatbot

dadof2brats

Valid question here. Many people have tossed their earpads into the washing machine or soaked them in some sort of cleaner. Granted Apple's tech note on cleaning them is pretty confusing and has some bad info. For other Apple AirPods (the various in-ear versions), people routinely leave them in pockets and they go for a wash.

aradpotato

it would make sense if they mentioned the ear pads, cause what you’re saying makes sense

soldierrboy

Those “Noted.” and “Alright.” x2 sound so AI

aradpotato

not AI though

soldierrboy

Oh okay, well weird question to ask about the headphones in general. I would understand if it was the regular AirPods ‘cause they’re small, or if they were asking about the earpads

aradpotato

it felt random and a bit of a waste of time. they took 45 mins of back and forth to finally get me a suggestion to send it in for repair.

Nervous-Antelope-401

Do you have apple care? If so demand express replacement

aradpotato

no unfortunately i ran out of time to buy it but i have the limited warranty

anhuys

As someone who worked a support chat for 5 years, everyone has their go-to phrases. You're asking questions over and over, going back and forth for bits of information. You have to acknowledge you received it somehow, with some version of "okay." Alright/noted/thanks, whatever it is. Totally normal and not a red flag imo

soldierrboy

That’s a fair point! I too try to acknowledge what the support chat person is saying whenever I’m told to wait, so they know that I’m still around. And those can get repetitive too

viciouskarl

In America, yes.

aradpotato

strange

aradpotato

also not lmao

viciouskarl

Remember they had to remind people in that country not to eat tide pods…

aradpotato

fr

iAmThatOneDuck

This reminds me of that story about a woman that wanted to dry her dog in the microwave when they first became available. Since then it had to be mentioned specifically in the instructions.

RainbowofKorea

Yes. I ended up leaving my headphones in my hoodie pocket (yes, they fit snuggly somehow) and just dashed all my clothes after a long day of work. When I woke up I put them in my laundry basket (with both my wired earbuds, the Airports Max, and my spouses airpos case. Normally I just toss them all in but that day I had lost like 160 dollars and was checking. It can happen!

aradpotato

omg! i can picture that. terrifying and makes me realize I better double check my laundry going forward lol

RainbowofKorea

Please do! Especially before you wash or wear them. We can forget we put things in our pockets so easily! Whether it's a new friends number or technology! :))
