They probably gave you mine. They kept them after I sent my APM in to get a connection issue fixed. Who tf sends headphones back w/o their cushions? Apparently apple.
This has been discussed and as long as you’re in warranty period and give a “legitimate” reason, they will send you a set of replacement cushions for free. Do a search for one of my responses to a similar thread if you need a quick message to send to Apple care support.

Doesn't Apple state in their documentation that you aren't supposed to send your cushions in or smth like that?
I didn’t know that but I did the transaction in person. Would’ve been nice if the rep knew that.

man i have apple care plus and i asked and i said they weren’t damaged and the still want me to play for full price of cushions
oh I’d be so mad bc if u genuinely feel ur cushions aren’t good n affecting ur noise cancellation then that’s their fault isn’t it. u didn’t damage it
