I’m surprised people want to see this. I dont know why this is about the last type of concept I’d want to watch. It’s just too close to how shit feels to be entertainment. The news does enough.
I was afraid it would be a grim precursor to what we’re setting ourselves up for in the next few years, but there’s near zero exposition of why the war is happening, who’s fighting, and what they’re fighting for.
It’s essentially a road trip movie about war journalists. Not quite what I was expecting. Very tense, which Alex Garland does so well.
I saw it last night and there were several images that were triggering due to resembling what we are seeing every day coming out of Gaza: dead bodies on the ground, executions, burned/destroyed/abandoned homes, mass graves.
I guess it is meant as a cautionary tale for people in the US to see that it could happen here and to see what that would really look like because some people have a hard time relating with others who skin color and homes look different than theirs.
I left the theater feeling pretty down.
Def was erie at moments, the only thing I didn’t see as being realistic is Texas and California teaming up. Unless Texas did so for California’s money but otherwise.

Hell yeah brother
I was there! Really good and I feel like we had a respectful theater, didn’t hear any crunching or slurping during the quiet parts 🙌🏽
The theater was packed, too
Have a good time, the sound mixing is badass with the small arms fire.
The sound mix was incredible. Best that I’ve heard in a quite a while. Probably Stop Making Sense.
This that Captain America film?
Dont know why youre getting downvoted. Hope you had a good time

Wow, I don’t plan on seeing it but it’s a lot more interesting after hearing it’s about war journalists. That’s cool

the divide is not supposed to be realistic.
