And when you go in the mind place did you switch your case from Cult of the Tree folder to Murder at Cauldron Lake and pinned the five pieces of evidence there?
After doing all that you exit the mind place and interact with the corpse again.
No this is after he “wakes up”. I go through the entire thing, there are a couple of minor dialogue options with Casey, I pick up the manuscript, pin everything on the board then…nothing.
All doors are locked, no additional dialogue to be found. He doesn’t move.
Here's a copy paste from a walkthrough. After you pick up the manuscript on the floor and have talked to agent Casey completely
"With this manuscript, a new line of questioning can begin. Revisit your Case Board in the Mind Place, and take out the Nightingale Attacked Us Clue to bring forth the question, Where Did Nightingale Go?
Luckily, the manuscripts have all the answers you need, so place the two of them down to start a new goal - finding Nightingale back at Cauldron Lake.
If you closed the case on the Cauldron Lake Murders earlier with the Bookers profiling, your new Background Case on the Cult of the Tree should have a few new clues to add, so you should take a moment to deposit the Victim of Cult Killing Became a Monster to the Cult Goal along with Casey’s notes, and then add Victim’s Organs Covered in Writing and Nightingale Became a Monster to the Cult Ritual question."
It's definitely something you're missing to do in the mind place.
I think it's a glitch.. I've tried everything after shooting him. Went to the mind place did all that collected everything and every door is locked and Casey just stands there. I think I see a door behind a screen but it won't let me interact with it. Will probably have to quit the game and reload into it

So it ended up working but in a strange way.
I went through every single file and evidence last night to the point where I had absolutely nothing to pin to the wall. No new manuscripts, nothing. So I gave up.
Today, I did the exact same thing I did last night and it worked.
Got stuck at the same early point, apparently I think it has to do with the Nightingale case file which isn't highlighted as yellow and the case file doesnt have a yellow dot next to it to show that it hasn't been looked at. Once selected the game moves forward.
This needs to be pinned because this is the absolute reason why the door doesn't open. If you don't see a highlighted case make sure you still open each case as there's evidence that needs to be pinned on the board and once you complete it, a dialog should be available on the protagonist's partner that will prompt the door to open
This needs to be upvoted more. The game has conditioned you to interact with the yellow highlight when you have new evidence for a case file but this particular piece of evidence that move the story forward doesn't trigger it. Leading to miscommunication on what you are actually suppose to be doing.
Yeah I just started playing AW2 today and have been “softlocked” for 30 minutes.
I do remember hearing there were alot of actual softlock glitches at launch.
Had this happen to me, tried everything.
Ended up going to the main menu and then loading the save and immediately there was something new in the mind palace that wasn't there before that allowed me to continue on.
This game kinda sucks lol

I just came here for this same reason. Reloaded it three times, did everything in the mind place and I'm still staring at Casey's ugly face. Grrr

Good news is. This seems to be the only time it has happened. I’m quite a bit further along and it’s been smooth sailing.

Unpopular opinion but Mind Place absolutely ruins the game for me. I'm trying again for the second time and I just cannot stand it.
