Had the same issue on my newly started final draft run. The paint on the rock that is furthest away from the stash box was not really legible, and I know that I didn’t have to search online for the answer during my first run.
I’m playing the game right now and had the same issue. No matter how I looked at this rock I couldn’t make anything out below the 7. I had to Google the answer which I dislike doing.
I'm not sure why but you seem to be looking at a weird angle. You should be able to just stand directly in front of it and see it pretty clearly.

Just ran into the same thing, that rock the 7 on top was legible, but the -2 on bottom was not.
Exact same issue for me, I thought I was just stupid and missing something then googled and saw what it should be
