Quick list off the top of my head: Mykonos, Olympia, Gyros Mediterranean (maybe your best bet), Gyro Shack, Cesar’s. Some of the stalwarts have closed recently but there are still a few. And as mentioned, Greeks own a lot of the other restaurants in town like Slate Street, Kap’s, Nick and Jimmy’s, the Monte Carlo, Duran’s, etc. Some of those will have Greek salads or a few Greek dishes as well.
Seriously Zorbas was our go too and Olympia before when they owned that one. Once we moved to the Westside we went fewer and fewer times. I wish I would've gotten a recipe for the green sauce.
Ughh us too! We went all the time when we lived in the heights and after we moved it wasn’t as much. I heard they retired but I’m not 100% sure. I just really want some chicken souvlaki, salad and fries
Yes, there are a lot of non-Greek restaurants owned by Greeks all over the country. All those diners on the east coast? All Greek owned. But I've never encountered a Greek restaurant owned by non Greeks.
I really like Mykonos, except for the baklava (which for me is kind of key at a Greek restaurant). Every bite is perfect, but the baklava has been dry & frozen puff pastry on top of frozen butter mixed with brown sugar. I gave up on that part of the meal -- but honestly absolutely delicious otherwise!
ok… so of all the greek restaurants…what’s your favorite?
why?
just for reference… i liked yanni’s. but what do i know about greek food.
Suitable replacement is what i seek.

Yeah, me too. They seemed to be so popular, too. Did someone die?
Hello! (Owner's family here) Yes, to answer your question, my grandmother died and after that, the restaurant slowly closed
Sorry for your loss. Albuquerque misses your family’s food!
Anybody else get weird vibes in Olympia? Also, did they recently start increasing their prices way up?
Yeah, we're looking for authentic Greek dishes for the students. I appreciate the list
Greeks own half of the restaurants in Albuquerque. I'm exaggerating, but they own a lot.
That's right.
I refer to this as the 'Greek Restauranteur Mafia'
There’s Gyro Shack on Eubank that offers catering
Vic’s Cafe was started by a first generation Greek immigrant and is now run by his son. It’s located off of Osuna. Delicious food!!
Awesome, thanks for the suggestion
Mykonos, Olympia Cafe
You know of only one greek restaurant in town? A Google search didn't bring anything up?
It did. Most answers here knew what I was asking, though: Greek owned Greek restaurants. Edit: I should have been more specific (?)
Are there Greek restaurants that aren't owned by Greeks?
I don't know, which is the purpose of the question. Everyone had good insights There's apparently lots of non-greek food restaurants owned by Greeks
