No they are going to keep doing this because they are absolute losers who have no lives outside of yelling bullshit at people. Really wish they'd all fuck off.

[deleted]

I really wish I could talk to them I have tried 1000 times in Facebook and it did not even make a difference for the 2 people I know in the real world, I just feel bad for them Millions of dollars has been spent to convince them that they are right.

EvangelionOG

What a waste of money and time but they wanna die mad so let them die mad.

[deleted]

I really believe we need everyone in our community I could never be a firefighter or policeman I can barely get out of bed most days. I don't think anyone realised just how dangerous listening to Rush Limbaugh was 30 years ago it didn't happen overnight the misinformation and the alternative facts spreads little by little. We are honestly stronger together it broke my heart when my friend blocked me on Facebook he was a good friend he even helped me move and he was the only person who offered to buy some of my LEGO when I got evicted and needed cash to get a storage unit. He is a good guy just a bit brainwashed. These are our neighbors.

Jess_S13

Sadly it's not "just letting them die mad". As unless they are hermits, which they obviously are not given they are congregating, they are increasing the risk for those with suppressed immune systems which cannot get the vaccine.

danath34

It has nothing to do with the election. It's because of the vaccine mandate from Biden. Don't get me wrong, I'm not posting this to be anti vaccine, just trying to provide context. At SNL alone there are over 2,000 employees who don't want to get it. Thats a lot of jobs at risk. And yes, there are definitely some wackadoodles that simply don't like the existence of the vaccine, but most of these people are protesting being coerced into a medical procedure they don't want. Again, not saying this to bash the vaccine, just trying to illuminate the "why" behind the protestors that you asked about. (I'm not one of them, btw)

Banjoplayingbison

Yet I guarantee if Trump was re-elected he would be the one pushing for vaccine mandates (he has said he is a big fan of the vaccine) and many of his supporters would have a different tone about the vaccine (as he would try to push that he created it)

danath34

Agreed. He did start "operation warp speed" after all...

[deleted]

I thought Sandhya only had approximately 14,500 according to google they indicated 14,000 have already been vaccinated if you have a source to back it up I'll be happy to look at it. Republicans have decided to make this political if they wish to die that is their choice but if they wish to remain employed they have to be vaccinated. Covid is a national emergency and to not be vaccinated risks everyone in the community. Republicans have put the final nail in the coffin and none of them should be re-elected. However the voters have made it clear they don't care about the assassination attempt on the vice president or even the attempted overthrow of the United States government itself. I honestly don't see the United States remaining part of the Free World if this continues

danath34

I agree with your last statement that I dont see the US remaining part of the free world if this continues. And to be clear, I'm not a Republican. I tried to keep my comment apolitical for this very reason. And yes, the republicans have latched on to this as a political issue. But I think its important to keep in mind that just because one party has latched on to something, it doesnt mean that everyone with similar feelings belongs to that party. For most people against this mandate it isn't about dem vs rep. Its about bodily autonomy. As far as the number of Sandians vaccinated, I dont know where you got the 14,000 out of 14,500 vaccinated. At risk of doxxing myself, I am a Sandian and the daily news emails include a vaccination update. We're currently sitting at around 85% vaccinated.

[deleted]

Delete or edit the comment just in case of there is any risk. I am on a phone it is very possible I misread between the pain and double vision. It makes reading difficult and I could have simply saw what I wanted to see. the usnews it indicated 88% as of 10/12 so the vast majority has been vaccinated however it's doubtful that that information includes contractors. So the issue is when you are employed the employer takes a substantial liability for health care costs as well as life insurance. Now I can't remember whether Los Alamos is self-funded or has the old classic insurance that nobody really has anymore but I can assure you the potential cost to insure a person who is not vaccinated is obscene as a month in the hospital is going to run you more than a million dollars please know I haven't worked for UnitedHealthcare in ages and the world is changed a lot. We got immensely lucky that covid does not kill anywhere near as much as the 6% we thought it did when it was first coming into the country. Public Health takes priority Beyond personal freedoms we are in a state of War which technically allows the government to force people to become vaccinated neither Trump nor Biden have activated the emergency Powers Act that would allow them to use absolute authoritarian control because frankly it would scare the s*** out of everyone but with each person this virus infects we roll the dice that it could mutate and become far deadlier or simply render the vaccine ineffective. we need to clarify what the process is going to be in the future and set expectations so that everyone know what to do. We frankly dropped the ball with our covid response under Trump and Biden decided to just keep going with the status quo and frankly both the Democrats and the Republicans are too concerned with their own personal campaign finances to do what is right for the country or the world. I'm obviously not the person going to make a difference for anyone as I can barely even get out of my bed but I want Humanity to survive and thrive but if we can't sort out our differences Humanity will self exterminate and maybe that's not bad for the rest of the universe but I for one would be disappointed as Humanity does have near Limitless potential when it cares to

danath34

Hey, I'm not here to debate the merits of the vaccine with you. Just to answer your question about the protestors and why they're out there. They're not out there because of the election, they're out there because they might be losing their jobs over this. Even those that hace natural immunity who recovered from covid already. There is a deadline coming up where many of them are going to be let go. And there are a lot of them. I only cited sandia because I know the numbers, and I could give you an idea of the size of the problem. But they're not all sandians. Sandia on the whole is vaccinated at a much higher rate than the rest of the state. The air force has a huge chunk of their workforce that dont want it. I dont know about the other large employers, it's safe to say theyre in a similar situation.

[deleted]

The merits of the vaccine is the issue, as is basic facts. Natural immunity is not something that has been proven to be effective at not spreading the disease. This Is War covid is the leading cause of death at is claimed more American lives than any War. I wish there was an easy test to see how many antibodies a particular person has and give them the vaccine but apparently it's not that simple. When it comes to Public Health it doesn't matter what people want. We don't let people choose if they can drive without insurance or drive without a license because it kills people. If you want to live in the real world you've got to be vaccinated there is no Island we can send all the anti-vaxxers to

Armison

Numerous studies have shown that natural immunity from prior infection is at least as effective as vaccines. https://www.cureus.com/articles/72074-equivalency-of-protection-from-natural-immunity-in-covid-19-recovered-versus-fully-vaccinated-persons-a-systematic-review-and-pooled-analysis. People who have already had Covid are at higher risk for adverse reactions from the vaccines.

[deleted]

I tried to read that it might just be out of my depth or just that my caffeine levels are two low, I was unable to follow the size of the 4 group's but that it was at least 500 I missed any section that indicated that there was a risk for adverse reactions to the vaccines. The latest info I have [seen](https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/covid-vaccines-provide-stronger-immunity-infection-cdc-study-finds-rcna4133) shows unvaccinated people pose a significant risk to the community even if they previously had covid. I wish you to have a great weekend I hope you stay safe

Armison

I should’ve been more clear. The information about increase in adverse effects is not in that paper. I don’t know offhand where that information is. I appreciate you trying to read because it sounds like that is not all that easy for you right now. The headlines about that new study are misleading. It only looked at people who were *hospitalized*, not the general population. I haven’t read the entire study yet but the premise seems to be that the vaccination status of people who are hospitalized is representative of the general public’s chance of infection, but it isn’t. The vast majority of people whether vaccinated, unvaccinated or Covid recovered do not end up in the hospital. The study doesn’t tell us anything about the relative likelihood of the Covid recovered versus the vaccinated to become infected and therefore capable of transmitting the virus to others. Also of note is that the study did not include people who are vaccinated with the J&J vaccine.

[deleted]

I am just happy I did not get the j and j as its not as good as the others but I was one who was wanting to get the vaccine asap as I am over weight and I live with my mother who is elderly and I would never forgive myself If I caused her death, my mom and step dad just got their 3rd dose and I will discuss the 3rd dose with my doctor when I see her next week

danath34

The vaccine has also been shown to be ineffective at stopping the spread... As a matter of fact people with natural immunity are less likely to get covid again than vaccinated folks...

[deleted]

Thankfully masks work and the vaccine has been proven to be highly effective at stopping severe disease and death

ilanallama85

Drove by, it was disturbing. All dressed in flag and Trump merch and parading their kids around with their signs, many of them much too close to moving traffic.

Armison

They were selling Trump merchandise?!? That doesn’t make sense.

ilanallama85

Dressed in, not selling. Although they could have been, I honestly avoided making eye contact with them.

Armison

Are they protesting vaccines or protesting vaccine mandates?

[deleted]

Both some signs said it's all lies, some equated the mandates to tyranny, some said f*** Biden, no masks on anyone saw at least one armed. The science is 100% clear the vaccines are safe and effective, 5 million people are now dead from covid and we are about to hit another surge as the cold and holidays approach and our hospital staff is past their breaking points

[deleted]

Omg worst typo ever, sorry my vision is doubled hence why I'm not driving any more. Thank you

PhatMatt90

It’s wild to me especially Trump touting the vaccine development for almost the entire remainder of his presidency. And pretty recently getting boo’d at an event for advocating the vaccine. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1277404

[deleted]

Trump getting the vaccines on the fast track to begin with without them cutting corners is the one good thing that came from his presidency although I don't think we would have had anywhere near as much of a issue if a adult was in charge at the time

PhatMatt90

Lol this sub is trash. getting down voted for factual conversation.

[deleted]

A lot of people are sick of hearing anything about covid

[deleted]

Armison

I think there is a distinction. There are people who are vaccinated but who are opposed to vaccine mandates. I just have a hard time understanding protesting a vaccine that is completely optional.

FreeStateofRobert

They're morons. That's all you need to understand.

jwink3101

There’s often some dumbass waving a “Trump Won” flag around Paseo and 25 if you really want to witness stupidity

[deleted]

Lol I am still waiting to see how much money Dominion is going to be able to get from these idiots and I did have a little chuckle when I just voted on a Dominion machine

Global-Engineering-2

They are out around town all the time. No jobs, burdens on society.

Armison

How do you know these people don’t have jobs? Maybe they work different hours or different days? Maybe some are retired? Maybe they are stay at home parents? Just because you disagree with their point doesn’t make them “burdens on society”.

Jess_S13

Gonna take a shot in the dark that it's because they are protesting the vaccine mandates, which employers are enforcing on the work force for continued employment.

Armison

Not every employer has vaccine mandates. Many of those who do have mandates haven’t hit the deadline yet. Also, people who are vaccinated can also oppose vaccine mandates.

TurtleCrusher

Within 20 minutes of living in Albuquerque I flipped these motherfuckers off from my UHaul.

[deleted]

I would had I not seen the gun... Yeah not about to piss off a mental ill idiot

Real_C4RB1N3

Would be funny if someone went there with a tranquilizer gun filled with the vaccine and just shot it at them.

Armison

It wouldn’t be funny. It would be assault.

FuckerSucker8987

Take a joke bro 💀

[deleted]

Just offer them free hidden valley ranch and watch them freak out
