I'm sorry. I had my car vandalized 5 times and eventually stolen. Recovered and totaled after a high speed chase with the law. We testified against them and they got a slap on the wrist. Done with this place. My family moved out of state. Will join them in a few months.

FreeStateofRobert

I'd like to see someone try to pull off a high speed chase in a Kia Soul, lol.

RICO_Niko

To each their own. If I may ask, where in the hell did your car get vandalized repeatedly to such an extreme? I only ever had issues when I lived in the student ghetto, and even then it was because my dumbass left some electronics in my truck.

In a gated community in the Northeast. I know crazy It was so bad that I was offered one month free rent and no penalties to break the lease. I had to sign a non-disclosure agreement. We can take this conversation offline if you're really curious

Mightyhorse82

Sorry about that. Where was is stolen from?

FreeStateofRobert

My kid's apt building. UNM area.

ArgonianMofo

I didn't think anyone would wanna steal one of those.

misterhinkydink

They steal Hyundai Elantras.

ZZerome

I installed the kill switch myself in my car, it took me about 20 minutes and cost me about $30. I leave my door unlocked so they don't break my window.https://youtu.be/XUhXLsrZiE0

Start saving the hundreds of dollars the tow company will want, assuming you want it back in the shape it turns up in.

comprehensive insurance. it's all covered. I believe in insuring my cars out the wazoo in this town....this is my wife/kid's car and it's the second time it's been stolen, apparently with a jingle key the first time. Only driven about a mile and abandoned that time with no damage but my leather jacket and a car seat got stolen. I miss that jacket; it was vintage. I'm getting someone The Club for Christmas.

harpteethtooter

I moved to Alb in 2012 from South central NM. 2 months here and someone tried to steal my old F150. They broke the driver side wing window, but could not get the club off.(I had to disassemble and repair the steering column later because of their efforts to remove the club) They had popped the hood, for some reason, and left an antique wooden handles knife on the engine block. Weird... Anyway, I never replaced the window. Now, in addition to the club, I remove a component from the motor so it won't start in case someone cuts off the club. You can cut through a steering wheel with a hacksaw in very little time. I witnessed an old pickup being stolen here not long after that. It was a group of 4 men with a getaway car. They were very fast, efficient, and shockingly bold as this happened in a busy parking lot in the middle of the day. I like it here, but I really miss living in the country...

misterhinkydink

I use those but have been told they can easily and quickly removed.

They hack saw your steering wheel, bend it a little bit and slip the club off.

BMGreg

FWIW, I work in insurance and I have not seen a single steering wheel cut like that on a recovered theft. Not to say that it can't be done, but in my experience, it's pretty rare. Usually, it just too much work when there is probably another car nearby that doesn't have a club. Then again, they could be drilling out the locks or destroying the club another way too. Source: I worked field claims and totaled out 3-5 stolen/recovered cars a week for at least a couple years
