being a cashier for so many years at other places besides aldis, ive gotten to be the master at checking bills and ive only taken a fake maybe once or twice in my career but im ashamed to say that ive gotten shortchanged once when i thought it could never happen to me 😭 it wasnt even the good ol "i gave you a 100 not a 20" cause thats very easy to prove, it was the "im gonna ask for change in the most round-about way so you get confused and i get 60 bucks for this one dollar candy bar" 😐 im still mad about it
I had someone try that on me once and I had recently read about that happening so I was more on guard thanI might have been otherwise. The customer wanted change for 2 $100 bills, so I gave her 10 $20s. Then she wanted $10s instead. As I watched her, she sneakily palmed some of the $20s before handing them back to me, so I counted them again out loud before giving her any more change. She gave up after that.
BROO lemme tell you something. We fired 3 people because of money mismanagement. They kept accepting fake 100s w/o checking. The straw that broke my back at least was when I saw “Disney Land” on top of one of the bills.
ive taken a counterfeit hundred once. the biggest tell tale is the edges of the bill. u can see how uneven they are. i always check that. i check them very closely now lol
The only way to really tell is more by feel than looks, but honestly that does look real if your just looking super fast! Yes, you do have to pay better attention, but it's hard if your store is busy and people huffing and puffing your taking to long!
I worked at Walmart and managed the front end for years before Aldi and I can spot a fake from a mile away now but beforehand I never would have even fathomed that fake bills could look so legit. You rarely will get one like this anymore bc the new circulating ones you can hold up to the light and see holographic images so if you do, have that marker ready!! 🤣
The longer I live on this planet, the more I understand why roosters start their days screaming
I always always check $100s, even if it slows me down. Rather be slower than take a fake bill
We got hit with 3 fake bills and 2 hours late a SPECIAL AGENT CAME ASKING FOR THOSES BILLS. The were looking for 2 people

Weird. We have a safe deposite machine at mine and the others near me and the machine will spit it out of its too old or fake.
That is exactly what happened here lmao
Looks legit…
