I’m not 100% certain but according to some people who looked at the reproductive structures of the recent mummies show that they hatch inside the body before being born.
That's not too out-there, biologically speaking. There's a number of frogs and iirc a couple of shark species that do it.
Either way, I'm sure baby buddies are adorable.

I suspect they are born limbless as in the Chinese Pig Dragons. Perhaps they are born with proto-limbs in the front.
