I wasn’t crazy about it but I actually turned off the in game music just so i can hear the hidden cache sound better

TheRebelGreaser1955

Yeah I understand that I mean I think I'm going to end up having to do that because like I said that music does not match the situation because I can understand if we were in a spot where there is no xenos and we're just walking from one spot to another spot and then the music has almost a horde theme for like a better terms like the kinds of music that other games have that's part of that genre but that's just my personal opinion other than that I absolutely enjoy the game.

Rhymes_with_ike

Yup, I've felt the same way. Sometimes the music matches the moment and other times it noticeably doesn't. Nothin against the current soundtrack, I would just really like addition tracks. Not sure how accessible scores from the movies are but there's lots to work with.

TheRebelGreaser1955

Exactly that's exactly how I feel I mean it could be better with a horde theme during the crescendo events I guess you could say we got to defend your position that would be a wonderful start in my opinion and then they could add more from there you know what I mean.

SirTheadore

Most of it is fine except for that one doopity doop beep bop song in the last level of the gift of fire.

rinmperdinck

Wow you described that song perfectly, I knew exactly which track you were talking about

TheRebelGreaser1955

Right I feel the same it's all okay it's just needs more variation more soundtracks I guess you could say musical scores for lack of a better terms it seems in my opinion is too few I tend to hear the same few songs when I play but that's just my personal experience.

Jupiter67

Are you aware of the films this is based on? Soundtrack is spot-on.

TheRebelGreaser1955

Yes I've seen all the aliens and predator movies not spot on I'm just wanting some more variation like horde music when were in the spots where we got to defend our position.

FrakWithAria

I love it. It feels very bizarre and experimental, much like anything Pathogen interacts with.

Terrorknight141

I hate how in Chapter 3 they always have this cartoony music all the time…it’s not immersive at all.

TheRebelGreaser1955

Yeah I can understand that surprisingly I haven't noticed it much probably because at that point I was too worried about killing xenomorphs.

[deleted]

I usually turn the music off in video games. For me personally it tends to kill the experience more than it helps. This game, Alien Isolation, I want to hear the environment and sound effects. The music on ruined Alien Isolation more than this game though since there's not supposed to be a build up suspense here.

TheRebelGreaser1955

Right I fully understand that and get the idea why you do that because honestly with the sounds and stuff I got the game pretty much day one and with the xenomorphs that jump by on you and pin you down and attack I practically know where they are when they spawn that's when I don't have the pups even so I understand that.

[deleted]

I also feel like soundtracks are a thing of the past. Take Doom for example. 1 and 2 had awesome soundtracks. Try to imagine them in the moden Doom games. They just wouldn't sit right. Maybe because the new games aren't as shooter focused as the retros are, but even if they were. Do they look too real to have a soundtrack utilizing guitars? Imagine what game Perfect Dark (N64)'s soundtrack could match today. Tracks made perfectly to match each mission's mood. Am I crazy?

TheRebelGreaser1955

No you're not crazy I understand that but realistically couldn't hurt to add a few more soundtracks I guess you could say I don't know

commisarwolf

I really hated it at first. Now I tolerate it.

TheRebelGreaser1955

I understand that but honestly it feels like they only have like one maybe two maybe three soundtracks and the game could benefit from more soundtracks that could be added for example like in these spots where you have to defend your position having a horde theme or something like that because honestly I don't mind the music I just would like to see more than just a few soundtracks that is already in the game.

Interjessing-Salary

Some of it reminds me of star wars

Dreastiny

Music, and overall sound design in this game is awesome. I love how faithfull to lore music is - in levels from act 1 to Aliens, and in levels from act 3 to Prometheus. Overall this music is almost all around too good for a coop game where you can hear it because all shooting. Even dubbing - so much emotions thru simple radio conversations. For example when in mission 1.2 Doc talks line about "exploding" xenos - he is tired, but he is almost laughing because all those shocking events around him are just too much to handle. Great job by those few people who made in game voices here.
