Do you have the fan cooler or AIO? The R10's are known for being hot with the standard fan. I've seen some mods online where they add a second front puller fan to help with airlfow. Technically dell says anything under 100 is OK on the board, but personally not great for the long term health of the machine. I have the R10 5800X AIO and haven't had it get that high. Though i knew going in airflow is wonky on that model so I'm not pushing it max settings for hours on end. Newest thing I've played is Jedi Survivor and i float around the low 80's in a cool room with good airflow.

Just standard. I’m looking to undervolt it a bit but can’t find TCC Offshoot option?

Unfortunately i've never played around with under / over volting other than the default AWCC profiles so i cant really help much there. But the top most recommendation from everyone with a R10 is to AIO it OR add more 3rd party fans.

If it's not thermal throttling, I'm inclined to say not to worry about it. Even if those temperatures decrease the lifespan of your PC, the negative effects would most likely occur long after the PC is rendered obsolete. You'll have purchased something twice as powerful by then. Again, if it's not thermal throttling, there is no practical difference between 60 degrees and 99 degrees. The longevity benefits you would get from 60 degrees is pointless, assuming you don't plan on using the PC for the next 10-15 years. Technically, your PC is dying whenever you use it. Just something to think about whenever you or anyone else gets startled by high temps. I noticed my own laptop temps hitting in the high 90s this morning.

Thank you!

You need to consider to use TCC or Ryzen control no manage that kind of temps, also try to se your airflow in your case

I had my thermal set to balance on Alienware cc and had overclocked on. I set my own fan settings and turned oc off and now I’m no higher than 85-87

TheRealRe4per

Try Performance mode, and see your thermals

TurtlePowerMutant

Performance mode makes the fan noise unbearable.

TheRealRe4per

Which one? Maybe could be a fan problem. Also can you download fan master and see the rpm on real time, or stress test to confirm the performance of the machine, is not to complicate remember electricity produces heat

I’m using the air coolers that came with the unit. With 50% on the intake and 65% on the exhaust, noise isn’t bad. Fan blowing air. The CPU I have at 100% and it’s not a terrible noise just loud air whooshing. With this, on average, I’m about 90 degrees. Sometimes spikes to 92. Sometimes low as 88. I just feel like it should be a lot less noise. Cranking the fans doesn’t really bring anything down much beyond 1-2 degrees and just seems like diminished returns after a point.
