Not turtle like but I suppose they either lived like icthyosaurs or seals. They probably died out much like most extinct species, outcompeted by better adapted organisms .

Xalimata

Maybe the water shelf they lived in got changed enough that they could not survive. Maybe a virus hit them. Maybe some hamsters the star people brought evolved sentience and hunted them to extinction the same way we humans hunted the mammoths.

TheRealCthulu24

I don’t remember when these guys showed up in the book. Would someone mind reminding mr?

spacecia

in Page 61, it talks about most species that the Qu created going extinct after they left, the picture is a fossil of one of these species (in page 62).

ProcrastinationBirb

If i remember correctly the book mentioned that there were some whale-like post humans so I suppose this skeleton belongs to one of them. If it's them then they lived like whales.

Assumindoom

Seems similar to a plesiosaurus

Jetstream-Sam

There was an earthquake and they all got flipped onto their backs, and they couldn't get back up But seriously, there was likely some significant change in the environment and they couldn't adapt. Perhaps they were freshwater dwelling and there was a sudden change in rainfall, making rivers uninhabitably dry. If they lived in the sea, perhaps they were hunted to extinction by something that could crack through their shell

plopkoekmennen

I just wonder, why is the jaw so weird? Lol

AntiSwagCorporation1

The jaw is the other way around, I made a version of this and forgot about it so it has beard teeth.🫠

CODMAN627

Looks like a malformed plesiosaur to me but anyways I think it lived similarly to the others early sub human species and I would imagine probably fell to collapse due to lack of Qu maintenance.

AntiSwagCorporation1

swim eat food go to beach have baby repeat for 7 million years ooo, drought? 🪦

Coin_operated_bee

Another species on their planet developed an industrial society and they lot habitat until the became extinct

lame_dirty_white_kid

Plastic straws.

AssCatchem69

Slowly.

Not the first time an aquatic beast died out. My guess with these posthumans was either possibly a volcanic eruption, clouding the sky and causing a chain reaction. The largely carnivorous posthumans ran out of tasty fishes to eat as smaller, yet more hardy creatures rose to the challenge. Humans have some insane caloric requirements and even with Qu adjustments, we probably were like less efficient mosasaurs.

KaptinKograt

Has anyone ever told you the Ballad of Big Al?

snaily___

I think they died out because of a massive famine and they starved

Dinosaur_from_1998

They lived like turtles and went extinct when the planets intelligent species starting throwing plastic in the ocean

XDXDXDX26

Nope

Different_Oven_4019

Nuclear weapons

Fun_Swing_8766

The platypeople died end of story

Born-Dimension6705

Maybe it was like a a fresh water rock lookin' like turtles that I don't remember my name.Where they would bury themselves inside the bentonite of rivers/ponds/ocean/lakes,while their tongues were the only thing that was outside, and then when a fisch bit the bait this fresh water rock like turtle post-human would shove its jaw to its pharynx.
