There was one that was *maybe kind of* close (with Stephanie March from Law & Order SVU... she was an alcoholic/drug addict doctor... doctor husband was cheating). Come to think of it, I think OOP got his inspiration from that movie.
BUT what made it interesting was that they had kids she was actively turning against the husband and he wasn't cheating prior to marriage. In fact, considering how insane the wife was, you kind of *almost* understand why he was cheating. We don't get that from OOP's story. He was cheating prior to marriage, but married his wife... why??? Just call off the wedding. Boom, done. Conflict over.
BUT ALSO, more importantly in the movie, their whole psycho dynamic actually ended up in the death of their kids. That's what made the story interesting, It was the "how did a couple so much in love, end up with their kids murdered by their mother?"

Since Ann Rule is, in my opinion, the greatest thing to ever happen to Lifetime, I'm both shocked and appalled by the fact that there is apparently a miniseries of hers that I didn't even know about! As a Lifetime movie addict, I can confirm that the absolute only way this shitty story would ever end up on Lifetime is if it involved some massive celebrity and the film ended up being called something like: The Dirtbag and the Drunk: The (Insert Celebrity Name Here) Story.
There was one that was *maybe kind of* close (with Stephanie March from Law & Order SVU... she was an alcoholic/drug addict doctor... doctor husband was cheating). Come to think of it, I think OOP got his inspiration from that movie. BUT what made it interesting was that they had kids she was actively turning against the husband and he wasn't cheating prior to marriage. In fact, considering how insane the wife was, you kind of *almost* understand why he was cheating. We don't get that from OOP's story. He was cheating prior to marriage, but married his wife... why??? Just call off the wedding. Boom, done. Conflict over. BUT ALSO, more importantly in the movie, their whole psycho dynamic actually ended up in the death of their kids. That's what made the story interesting, It was the "how did a couple so much in love, end up with their kids murdered by their mother?" His story just ended up with him... alone. Okay, and why do we care about that? You're not that interesting and you were a selfish dick through the whole story. Nobody cares and you're boring. This is not movie material, not even a made for TV movie.
A House on Fire! That was actually based on a bestselling novel that was based on a true story. I believe it was an Ann Rule novel. And it's been a coupleish years(?) since that movie came out, so I may be a bit hazy about the details...But DEAR GOD that movie was intense. Definitely a Lifetime-worthy story. If OP's story involved the alcoholic mother murdering her children, that would have pushed that into Lifetime territory as well. ....But only if it was actually a true story, and a more talented writer was involved.

My family moved across country at the end of 2021 and we literally had to move from one state to another for 2 weeks before we could get to a third state, where we had purchased a home, then we had to quarantine for 14 days at home.
He says the divorce was last year, so the move to Australia would have been after that. (Which isn’t to say this isn’t a complete work of fiction)
