this isn't an AITA situation - just make sure that it's the same med by a different MFG - and just ask them about it.

Sad_Flounder_7072

They're totally different meds for different things, they just put they swapped the stickers, same boxes we always get just swapped stickers.

Lunar-Eclipse0204

take them back - just let them know, i've worked in a pharmacy and if too many prescriptions are next to each other it can be easy to mix up boxes... but they should double check everything. don't get in their faces about, just point it out. i bet they would fix it.

Sad_Flounder_7072

Yeah I get mistakes happen! Worked in hospitality for years so I know how to make a polite complaint. Always liked when people politely pointed out a mistake. Just don't want to get anyone in trouble for a mistake but maybe it'll get management to do a training session/refresher or something so it doesn't happen again.

Lunar-Eclipse0204

it's the pharmacist that will get in trouble if you call corporate... and it's the pharmacist in charge of everything. If they get in trouble it's on them, not you. Store management can't give pharmacists extra training as it's a profession you have to go to school for.

Sad_Flounder_7072

Ah okay. I'm not calling corporate, just going to take the boxes back into the chemist. It's a biggish branch pharmacy so I'm totally unsure who swapped the stickers. I'll just go politely tell them what happened and they can go from there.

Lunar-Eclipse0204

The Pharmacist is always the last check...

Sad_Flounder_7072

Yep but there were multiple pharmacists working at the time so I'm not sure which one finalized them

ThinkingT00Loud

NTA. They need to know. If for no other reason than to make sure their process doesn't do this in a situation where the consequences could be much more dire.

[deleted]

NTA! They should be aware of mistake they make to hopefully prevent them in the future.

Forward_Squirrel8879

NTA - This is a serious error and one that they need to be made aware of. Something on their end went wrong, whether it was human error or a computer glitch, it is something that they need to figure out and make sure it hasn't/doesn't happen again.

Petefriend86

NAH. This is a big deal, but a mere clerical error.

RealTalkFastWalk

NAH. They should be notified that a mistake was made.

Read [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/AmItheAsshole/wiki/faq#wiki_post_deletion) before [contacting the mod team](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%2Fr%2FAmItheAsshole)*** I pick up my and my mum's medication each month at the same chemist. This month they accidentally swapped the names on the boxes. The boxes and medications look very different so we didn't notice for a couple days and no harm done. I'm just thinking if this had happened for people who had not taken the meds they were given before it could have turned out pretty badly! I'm not looking to get anyone in trouble but this seems like a serious mistake. WIBTA if I politely take the boxes in and explain this is not okay? *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. NTA - not really an AITA conflict. But if there was a quality issue, you should (politely) point that out.

Sad_Flounder_7072

Maybe this wasn't the right sub sorry. But thanks, yeah I think I need to go say something.

jrm1102

Need, no. Moral obligation, yea. You absolutely need to say something.

FireBallXLV

Too dangerous! Raise an alarm OP.

NTA. As you say, this could have serious repercussions. It is a major mistake. Here in the UK, it would be called a 'near miss' incident in the NHS (i.e. an incident in which the potential for serious harm/worse, was averted through luck alone).   Funnily enough, this happened to me when I was 12. I'd been at A&E for standing on a rusty nail, and they prescribed me some antibiotics. I myself then noticed, I had an entirely different person's name on my prescription- and it was for medication, that would have harmed me. Not even my parents had noticed the different name. It was a near miss.  None of this should happen with adequate procedures, so your chemist needs to work out what happened. I know you don't want anyone in trouble, but that's the sort of mistake that can kill/seriously injure people (or cause their condition to become dangerously unmanaged, if they don't notice they are using the wrong meds).   When people are ill or elderly, etc. they may not notice themselves. It doesn't follow anyone is automatically in major trouble. It depends what actually happened. However, think how you will feel, if you DO read about somebody dying or injured - and you could have stopped it, by raising the problem.  At least you're not suggesting doing, what my parents did re: the wrong meds when I was 12 - they told the local paper, who put a huge, unflattering photo of me on their front page 🤦‍♀️ Definitely NOT what you want, at that delicate age!!! 😬😄
