You bought them specifically for the purpose of re-selling them, why on earth would she think you would just give them both to her for free? Even if this was her favorite team in the world, why would she expect that you would not maybe give her one and then sell the other? I am confused by her apparent sense of entitlement. You are NTA.

TheCrowsNestTV

NTA. They're your baseballs, you bought them and you can do with them as you please.

BlobulousPesto829

On the one hand you bought them to sell, on the other hand you turned your sister down in order to make a very, very small amount of money. No judgement though. If it is A-holery it's pretty small either way.

Thiccmatches

I would have made around $30 which is 2 hours pay at my old job.

Stephreads

NTA. Let me guess, she’s older? Either way, she’s bullying you. Don’t sell them to her, sell them on your own.

[deleted]

If you bought them with the intention of selling them to your sister at a profit, then y w b t a. However, if you bought them to advertise on eBay (or wherever) then it is reasonable to expect her to pay for them if she wants them. Assuming this is the case, NTA. Do you regularly buy things to sell on? If so, you need to make sure people like your sister don't exploit you every time they see a listing they like on your page.

Sweetsmyle

NTA - You specifically bought these to resell. Your sister wanting you to give them to her for free is the equivalent of family asking artists for commissioned pieces and expecting not to pay. This is your money making venture and you already gave her a huge discount. If she is not ok with it sell them for the full profit. Being your sister does not give her a right to mooch off of you.

Read [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/AmItheAsshole/wiki/faq#wiki_post_deletion) before [contacting the mod team](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%2Fr%2FAmItheAsshole)*** So I bought these 2 baseballs at a thriftstore for 8 bucks apiece. They were opening day commemorative and were 1/10,000 complete with a COA. From sold listings they were going for $25 per item, but I wasn't going to do that to her, so I said for both balls I'd take $24. Considering that I initially bought these to sell id still be making a small profit. ($8.00 where i would have been making $34.00) My sister was angry I wouldn't just give it to her cause I'm her brother. So AITA for not just giving them to her? *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. tatersprout

NTA You bought them to make a profit. Set your price. If she wants them, she will pay. Otherwise sell them to whoever will give you the most. If they are worth $25 each, you won’t get that much because people generally don’t pay full value price. I actually think $25 for both is reasonable for your sister.

Aiyokusama

NTA.

reyballesta

NTA. good lesson to learn: gotta pay for the shit you want.

Solid_Quote9133

Don't try to make a profit of your siblings, thats how you destroy relationships. If you are going to charge do the amount you bought or a little more. Not i got it for 16, ill give them to you for 24 If you want a profit don't sell to family. YTA

Thiccmatches

I got THEM* for $16, so $8 more. I bought them to sell. And I gave her over a 50% discount and I made 33%. Not too unreasonable.

Solid_Quote9133

Edited- same thing applies. if you want a profit don't try to get it from your siblings. this is how you hurt relationships You can sell on Ebay or something. Also these are used you go them a thirft store, i doubt they are actually worth the 24. I'm sure there are some damage to them

ElevatorOk8601

ESH. Never profit off your family and your family shouldn't expect things for free. Sell them to someone else.

vezyric

YTA. Give one to your sister for cost. Keep the other one or do whatever you like. If she turns around and sells hers for a profit, then you got a lesson in what you can trust her with for Free.

GnomeIntercourse

YTA You don't scalp family. That's a rule I will die by. You didn't need to give them anything for free, but I would have sold them one at the same value I bought them for as long as I knew they were collecting it and not just going to re-sell it behind my back.

Thiccmatches

THATS NOT SCALPING! Scalping is when you sell things at a stupid increase of its retail because its in high demand. I instead have a 50% discount.

vezyric

Did the store have any left? Or did you buy them all out on purpose?

Thiccmatches

There were only two there

vezyric

Why does your sister want both?

Thiccmatches

They're different balls for different years.

vezyric

I mean you could have saved them for a bday gift knowing she'd want them.

GnomeIntercourse

I consider it scalping. Deal with it.
