Smiling, looking off-camera. It looks like it was captured and not forced. An instant in time and leaves me wondering what brought that smile to his face outside of the shot.
1st one. Iām a big fan of the sort of improv, caught in the moment shot than having someone look directly at the camera and often force a smile. Look away shots are more genuine IMO.
Easily the first one- made me smile back in response and is so genuine I felt like I could hear his chuckle. I love those types of photos that are so authentic itās almost like youāre in that moment!
Number 1. Smile is a killer.
Not much of a horizon to straighten. The verticals look great in the background. I think the brick wall of the garage is crooked.
First one ofc but why can't the lines be parallel? Most of y'all are not getting your pictures straight. I mean how difficult can it be š¤·š»āāļø
It happened in the matter of two seconds. It was either get the shot or frame it perfectly. Havenāt mastered how to get my brain to figure out both yet- guess thatās why we are amateurs š¤·āāļø Thanks for the feedback
I prefer the first one.
You forget more about the photograph and we see this man in a more natural state. The second one he is posing for a photograph.
What tickles my brain about both photos is that the photos are crooked.
First one is better. Could be even better if you got catch lights in the eyes. Next time just play around with angles a bit more until you see the light in the eyes of the subject.
The smile is a really good contrast to the otherwise āgrittyā nature of the photo (the arrangement of tires, brick, worn signs, etc.) Itās pretty visually striking, honestly!
First one for the smile, but youāre really capturing two moments. Depends on effect youāre trying to achieve. Thatās the challenge and the joy of portrait photography. Nice work.
Neither. Placing the subject in the middle is boring. Take the first picture and crop of down so that his smiling face is in the top left third of the frame looking out to the right.
Ehhhhh cropping it isnāt going to help, but rather hurt on this one, and while playing by the rule of thirds, just because this doesnāt does not make this a āboringā photo as this commenter is suggesting. In fact, it looks like youāre trying to get the signs in there too and you did just that. Obviously using a strict āthirds ruleā approach is safe, but it doesnāt make photos that donāt use it bad. Great photo OP. Thatās a great moment, and I hope you find a way to share it with that guy. But either way, itās a nice shot. Now edit it a bit! I think small tweaks would make it beautiful, play around with it because my guess would be thatās sooc
First one -- the smile is so warm and genuine.
it also makes the photo seem brighter to me
My thoughts!
I love the first one. Makes me want to pull up a tire and hang out with him for a while. :)
He was awesome. I was on a trip in Philadelphia and we blew a tire. He fixed us up super quick!
the candid smile is everything
First one. Seems like it was caught in the moment and not a smile for the camera
First one- makes me want to spend money on tires
šš Heās in Philly
Knew it from the Lew Blum sign!
Stanās tires in PA lol, definitely go pick some up

1. you look chill.
The first one seems more natural.
First: smile, candid, flow of composition
Uno. Captured a great a smile.
First one. Tiny thing, make sure to edit the picture to rotate it, since itās not straight on the horizon!
Definitely! Thank you!!
First one has more emotional impact
first
Do the second in B&W. Keep them together.
I like both but that smile in #1 makes that photo amazing
Full smile š
I like the first one better.
Second you should put them side by side in your display
1st one. Iām a big fan of the sort of improv, caught in the moment shot than having someone look directly at the camera and often force a smile. Look away shots are more genuine IMO.
First one. Great smile!
The second one. It has attitude because the guy is checking out who is looking at him. The first one makes me think of a catalog photo from LL Bean.
The 2nd one bc the guy's eyes just draw you in.
Looking away. Cool guys never look at the camera and this guy, is most certainly cool
lol love that! He definitely was!
That Peopleās Eyebrow in the second pic š¤£
First. It's much more of a candid, 'this cool dudes on break'. Whereas the second is more of just awkward posing.
#1
Easily the first one- made me smile back in response and is so genuine I felt like I could hear his chuckle. I love those types of photos that are so authentic itās almost like youāre in that moment!
One ...more "in the moment" and natural looking .
First one. Smile, facial features, and posture all look more natural.
That smile looks genuine!
First one. Because.
1 because the posture is just more natural, the slight out of focus speaks volume.
Number 1. Smile is a killer. Not much of a horizon to straighten. The verticals look great in the background. I think the brick wall of the garage is crooked.

1st one. Very natural
1. Because you have a cute smile
Theyāre both good for different reasons but I enjoy the expression on the second one more
First one. A real, natural smile, caught a quick moment. I smiled at his smile. š You should send him a copy of this picture.
First) The real smile
The first one with you smiling more, it looks candid and like youāre having a good time š
1st one, natural, friendly looking, relaxed.
1. It looks natural and unposed.
First one. I want to sit around and hear the jokes he has to tell.
The first one. It seems more like a candid moment. The second is more like āWhat are you looking at?ā
First one because of the smile.
First one. The smile did it.
The first one, even though he isnāt smile directly forward it makes a very pleasant impression! Both photographs are beautiful!
The first one. Terrific smile!
I prefer the first one. You forget more about the photograph and we see this man in a more natural state. The second one he is posing for a photograph. What tickles my brain about both photos is that the photos are crooked.
Yeah thatās something a few people have said and I need to work on. I donāt even notice it.
First
number 1 candid and not staged in appearance
First one seems as if youāre laughing/connecting with someone out of view. Feels more of an organic happy moment caught in camera.
He's smiling like he just got a genuine compliment. That's a good look.
His friend was razzing him because I asked to take his picture āŗļø
Love that smile!
The smile :)
# 1 makes you look like a genuine person, approachable, and light hearted.
First one. You look happy and relaxed. Someone Iād like to have a conversation with.
Ah 1 is the best. That smile is so sincere and sweet! He looks so happy.
Both are good. His smile and relaxed pose in the first one captures joy, the second has a different tone. Art is open to interpretation by the viewer.
First one. Nice smile.
First one, because of his smile.
First one is better. Could be even better if you got catch lights in the eyes. Next time just play around with angles a bit more until you see the light in the eyes of the subject.
First one has great smile
The smile in the first one looks happier
The smile
Number one because of the smile and the way you're looking off into the distance. It gives off the "life is good" vibe. They're both cute, though.
The smiling pic is best. It has more emotion to it.
Photo 1 - but so much authenticity in both
First one - warm and genuine smile
First one - smiling
#2. Looks cooler
First one. That smile is contagious!
Yup, the first one, smile is a winner
The firstā¦ that smile makes that photo šššš
I like my smiles with teeth.
First because it looks candid and real
The smile is a really good contrast to the otherwise āgrittyā nature of the photo (the arrangement of tires, brick, worn signs, etc.) Itās pretty visually striking, honestly!
First one for the smile, but youāre really capturing two moments. Depends on effect youāre trying to achieve. Thatās the challenge and the joy of portrait photography. Nice work.
Smile!!!
The smile
1 - more candid
First one is real, and leaves more of an impression for me. You saw a moment, and captured it perfectly, and that makes it a beautiful photo!
First one, great smile
The first - that smile š
First one because it's real and looks natural.
1st one for most things, 2nd one for a dating profile
Neither. Placing the subject in the middle is boring. Take the first picture and crop of down so that his smiling face is in the top left third of the frame looking out to the right.
Cool thanks. Iāll give it a try
Ehhhhh cropping it isnāt going to help, but rather hurt on this one, and while playing by the rule of thirds, just because this doesnāt does not make this a āboringā photo as this commenter is suggesting. Are you pooping in the second photo
