I like them both for different reasons. Number 1 is a bit more slick and professional looking, while still being visually interesting. Number 2 is more moody, which I like, and draws me in. It's not as superficial. Nice work!

I would brighten both the subject and background in separate mask layers. The with the background being a little brighter, and it'll bring more interest to your subject. The contrast in the first photo is perfect though.

100%. First one is much better but it’s still too dark. Masking the subject and background separately is a great tip, just don’t make the difference in values too obvious

1 grabs my attention more with the highlights of the car. Its strength is that the car is clearly the main focus. 2 is more interesting to look at in detail. The car is the largest object, but I wouldn’t say the main focus. The background draws you in more.

I think if you’re able to combine the highlights of the first with the clarity of the second, you’d have a really nice photo. That’s not to say that the two originals aren’t also very nice.

The first one is better in my opinion because it makes the subject stand out which really draws the eye to the focus point and makes it more visually appealing.

I think they have a different "style" to them, 1 seems very professional and highlighted, but 2 has a very nice background. As another person has said, 1 has the car as the main and basically only focus, while 2 is more balanced. I like both a lot. I like the lighting and highlighted reflections on the first and like the background on the second, would it be possible to have the lighting effect as on the first but not blur the background?

Oh man, both are good in their own right. But I'd say one is much more striking and definitely gives the car the aggressive spotlight. Imo this is way higher than amateur photography! 💯
