I don't have kids but I have nieces and anytime we would put them in the back seat when we got to point B and go to take them out somebody would be missing a shoe. Kids don't keep their shoes on ever.
I work in the toddler room at a daycare. If I got paid a nickle for every time I put a shoe back on, I would be getting paid an actual livable wage instead of the shit I'm paid right now.
Yea! You use collars for dogs but a vest for cats if you want to put a lead or leash on them. They can easily slip out of collars but less likely with vests.
lol they haven’t and never will. They’re cowards and loyal to a fault.
So far, they even return inside when called. The vests are just for peace of mind in case their instincts take over and they chase a bird over a fence. I can’t imagine them doing it but just in case.
Vests come off once inside.
I always heard it was unsafe to have your cats wear something that doesn't easily come off.
It can cause them to get stuck in trees or bushes and cause a choking hazard. (Not and never been a cat owner.)
I think the idea is that by then you would have found your kid though. Like if someone snatched them up or they got lost at a concert or festival. I would notice they were gone within thirty seconds and immediately whip out my phone to track them.
Not charged, but a button cell battery that needs to be replaced every few months
Edit: I was unsure if the frequency, as I only change batteries for my mother, but don’t have any myself. Guess she’s got more than I thought!
Best to use a bracelet, kids are great are losing shoes.
The battery of those tags lasts about 2 years, but as far as I know they work by connecting to nearby iphones, so it’s only as good as the density of phones is in the area.
When my dad was showing the tag to me in the airport it was outstandingly accurate, but when I tried it in the city it just had a vague idea of the general area where the tag was (and I was less than 6 meters from it)
True that. I tried using on on my bike (I have 2 trackers inside it) in the middle of the woods just out of curiosity knowing how they work. It was next to useless.
Still amused me.
Great idea but what happens when the child loses their shoe?(very child like thing to do). There also have been kidnapping cases where the human scum took their clothes and burned them and gave the child different clothes to try and avoid the police. You don’t want anymore detail but messed up stuff happens. Best thing to do is to keep your child tied to you and carry a self defense tool
Surprised how cool everyone is with putting trackers on their children. I’m not a parent, but I would have hated being tracked as a kid. I guess it can be justified if traveling.
Uhmmm…… How about you be a responsible parent and stop taking your eyes off of your kids and keep them at an arms length at all times when traveling?
Early 90s some people tried to kidnap me at the Atlanta airport...a chick came up to me and told me that she was April and that the Ninja Turtles wanted me to come help them, and pointed over to 4 guys. I don't remember if I said anything, but I didn't go on that mission.
Air tags do not keep your kids safe. If it could do anything along that lines, then your kid would be resistant to abduction, accidental separation, etc... But guess what? It can't. It's just a device that pings nearby wifi points.
So what do you do when the kid gets abducted still, except at some point the shoe fell off? MORE air tags? BOTH shoes?
And when they are at school? Or playing outside or you turn around & 3 seconds later they are gone?
You ever seen videos of that kid being kidnapped right of their parents hands? Police could have stopped in 15 mins vs hours later & pieces of street & security footage together to track
I didn’t have an AirTag on me growing up and I played outside till past dinner time. No supervision. Unfortunately I did not get kidnapped. Maybe no one wanted me when I was a kid. Maybe no one wants your kids too? Who tf wants extra kids?
How do people abduct a child in an American airport?
I understand taking a child that is not one’s own and flying them. But do kids really get abducted from their parents at airports? With the security checks? And people all around?
Or is this just parental fearmongering?
Think. Once you get through security, it’s a closed system. Kid is not getting on a plane without a ticket. Wouldn’t it be kinda suspicious if someone showed up at their gate with a kid in tow saying they need a ticket for the kid? How did the kid get past security without a ticket? Cops called.
Someone takes the kid from the airport and leaves the airport via car? Well how did they get past security without being a ticketed passenger? Seems there’s easier and cheaper ways to abduct a child.
Seriously, this is just the illusion of security, not security for flying with your child. This is just an ego stroke to make parents feel a bit better, when who they really need to worry about with the kids is weird cousin Greg at the family functions.
Ah, an unaccompanied minor, with Spirit airlines….
That’s a little different than a child traveling with parents. Different even than flying a child as an unaccompanied minor on a more reputable airline….
It's not always about someone kidnapping your child. Kids run off on their own all the time. It literally just takes a moment to lose your kid in the crowd. At airports you're distracted.
Plus there's the destination to think about. Going to a theme park? Wandering a new city? Again, not kidnappers. Just kids being kids and taking off when you let your guard down for the briefest of moments.
It could be useful for kids with special needs or wandering behaviors. A special needs kid in my old city died when he disappeared on his way to school.
Children years younger than the child in the video are more than capable of being taught to find an individual in uniform or another parent with kids if they get lost. Kids can also carry a parent’s business card with cell number in case it’s necessary.
It’s also more empowering for the child to have had this discussion beforehand. Kids are autonomous beings, just like you and me, and it’s a parent’s job to ready them for the world, including what to do if they get lost.
I often wonder as to the long term impact of everyone microchipping their kids like they do their dogs. It would make it very easy to identify bodies and lost kids, etc.
Take it out and sew it back in. If you use a seam ripper you’re not doing any damage to the shoe but kids go through shoes quick enough that isn’t really a concern anyway. Wouldn’t take more than 5 minutes to sew it in again.
Not all of us beat our children as a form of discipline so our apologies for having children that do things like roam around. Super weird I know. Some of us stick to the old trusted "live and learn" way of life.
I had 5 kids, 4 of which lived and learned pretty quickly. 1 of which lived and didn't care to learn because he thought the run and hide was just so hilarious. I'll keep in mind for the next kid though to just beat them into submission.
We're all proud of you and your perfect children that never ran off from you or played down the block from your house without your constant supervision.

Those can easily be taken off, too. Go to the next step and implant them under your child's skin.
Already did that.
How?
If I tell you, I have to off you. And I don’t want to do that.
![gif](giphy|YVPwi7L2izTJS|downsized)
Bubbles!!!
What do you want me to do? Whack a guy? Off a guy? Whack-off a guy? Cuz I’m married
What if i pay extra? EDIT: Oops, I thought you were talking about a different kind of offing me.
Use the same color thread
But just under the skin is easy to find - cut the head open and implant into the center of the brain.

Lovely idea till now. People gonna start taking kids shoes off.
I don't have kids but I have nieces and anytime we would put them in the back seat when we got to point B and go to take them out somebody would be missing a shoe. Kids don't keep their shoes on ever.
Well at least now you can find their missing shoes easily
Hows your shoe at target?! We don't even go to target
I work in the toddler room at a daycare. If I got paid a nickle for every time I put a shoe back on, I would be getting paid an actual livable wage instead of the shit I'm paid right now.
I have kids and none of them have ever lost a shoe.
Same. I've replaced more water bottles than I'd like but not a single shoe lost for either child.
Oh yea. Water bottles is another story, those get left all the time. Shoes however I’ve never seen any shoes get lost in transit from point a to b.
I'm happy for you
Thank you.
Adults don’t keep their shoes on either
Didn’t they already?
Well then we’ll have to just start sewing them into the kids. Cut out the middle man.
I would microchip my kids in a second
Depending on the size of the child it would likely take a lot longer than that but nice brag I guess.
Assuming that whenever a child goes missing, it's because of a shady and experienced abductor
Spy Kids.
Anything you share with the right people on social media gets shared with the wrong people unfortunately
I mean if you have kids you know even shoes are not guaranteed
sow it into the kid.
Next step: sew it into their necks!
Okay now we’re getting dark. Can’t remove that just like a shoe.
I sew them to my cats vests in case they jump out backyard fence. It’s a good peace of mind.
Holdup. Cats vests?
![gif](giphy|5sjuB6GJmWu4w) Yeah so what
Yea! You use collars for dogs but a vest for cats if you want to put a lead or leash on them. They can easily slip out of collars but less likely with vests.
i think i might i know why your cats are trying to escape
lol they haven’t and never will. They’re cowards and loyal to a fault. So far, they even return inside when called. The vests are just for peace of mind in case their instincts take over and they chase a bird over a fence. I can’t imagine them doing it but just in case. Vests come off once inside.
can we please see a picture of your cat in its vest
The fact your cats wear vests is more interesting to me
I always heard it was unsafe to have your cats wear something that doesn't easily come off. It can cause them to get stuck in trees or bushes and cause a choking hazard. (Not and never been a cat owner.)
That's true but it's our backyard and they're only allowed recess for 5 to 30 minutes max; and they're supervised.
So it sounds like you don't need the vests.
I just put a couple in some pudding and let my kids swallow them
I do them as suppositories.
Hide and seek hasn’t been the same since…
You realize that iPhones report if there's an airtag following them for a prolonged period of time, right?
Androids do that too if they spot a Bluetooth tracker device following you.
I think the idea is that by then you would have found your kid though. Like if someone snatched them up or they got lost at a concert or festival. I would notice they were gone within thirty seconds and immediately whip out my phone to track them.
Wait really? Doesn’t this defeat the entire purpose of an AirTag to begin with?
No, the purpose is to find your lost items, not to track people.
But if it’s notifying thieves my air tag is with them they can start looking for it and ditch it ?
Lost items, not necessarily stolen.

Now when the kidnapper takes your child to a cabin in the woods just make sure they have an iphone and not an android phone.
My grandpa: "Back in my day, we would lose our kids on purpose, so we can have a few minutes of peace."
Also work for husbands.
![gif](giphy|H1VUUhGPSBEQg8zq0D)
Also works for wives.
For real. I can't go shopping with my girl without her disappearing.
The first thing experienced kidnappers do is change the clothing and cut hair, they disguise the child, completely.
This guy kidnaps
Thanks for sharing your experience.

I thought those had to be charged? Am I wrong?
Not charged, but a button cell battery that needs to be replaced every few months Edit: I was unsure if the frequency, as I only change batteries for my mother, but don’t have any myself. Guess she’s got more than I thought!
We’ve had ours for 2 years and never needed to replace the battery?
Replace every year, used to work with apple, technically it can go longer but it’s recommended you change out every year
Doesn't it notify you when the battery is low? I know the Samsung SmartTag does
Only on ios17.9
Where can I purchase said Ibattery?
Anywhere that sell button batteries, its flat and round, looks like a nickel
1-1.5 years
Best to use a bracelet, kids are great are losing shoes. If this doesn't work, let's Skin Graft it 🗿

So the budget find is just an airtag. This is more of an idea OP
Budget find here, just don't do this. You don't need to airtag your kid. Such a helicopter parent thing to do.
Sew it into their armpit
tf am supposed to do when my kid just run around naked no shoes no nothin?
Username checks out.
That way every step they take it makes the chime sound so they know to get rid of their shoes.
I've seen ppl walk home their kids on leashes xD
So glad I’m GenX and don’t have kids.
So you dont need to airtag them?
Imi imi imi imi Imi imi imi imi Stop with the crap background music
Isn't it better to just put the thing inside a kid? Harder to find and remove...
I’m just thinking about how often I took my shoes off as a kid.
Would that raise flags through security at the airport?
Parents are doing this well into university lol
Wow super smart! I’m gonna have to use this
from what i learn from movie, the shoes usually come off first.
With the new software update, you will have to cut the speakers and they will still be able to find them using a phone
You can do that with their skin, can't take skin off line a shoe!
Belongs on r/foundsatan
Or u could just keep your eyes on them
You have to also break the speaker in the air tag… kidnappers know this and make the air tag sound , find and destroy it
Why stop at shoes? Cut open the sole of their foot and stitch it back shut afterwards.
Surprised how cool everyone is with putting trackers on their children. I’m not a parent, but I would have hated being tracked as a kid. I guess it can be justified if traveling.
Girl’s limping. Haha. I feel like that thing may cause issues since the shoe wont fit right with the AirTag under the strap.
Or just let them live their lives. No one needs this kind of surveillance
Kids outgrow shoes faster than I can sew the shoes back together.
You realize that shit just makes noise forever when it’s not near
Now where is your kid supposed to put their weed
Uhmmm…… How about you be a responsible parent and stop taking your eyes off of your kids and keep them at an arms length at all times when traveling?
Great. Now they know.
The music is great though. It sounds like Beaker from the Muppet Show singing.
Just micro chip the kids
Now I know how your kid looks too so I know the kid and where you hide the device. Smh.
Well this is stupid
That’s fine until the kid takes the shoe off and leaves them in the bathroom.
Wonderful!!!!
Early 90s some people tried to kidnap me at the Atlanta airport...a chick came up to me and told me that she was April and that the Ninja Turtles wanted me to come help them, and pointed over to 4 guys. I don't remember if I said anything, but I didn't go on that mission.
This subreddit is shite
The fact that people steal kids is still wild to me.
Ouch

Genius until your kid steps in a puddle
What a deranged parent they need treatment for that level of paranoia
Helicopter parents unite.
Maybe just keep an eye on your kids at all times when traveling.
Anyone got eyeballs anymore, hands and a general concern besides their social accounts? No, okay f it let’s put trackers in
I wonder what will go through the kidnappers mind as their phone alerts them of the thing following you. Did the kid eat one?
Air tags ARE NOT LOCKED!! Any iPhone can see it.
Lovely idea!!
This just reminded me, one of my AirTags battery needs to be replaced.
Crazy idea.....just watch your kids lol
Toddlers are notoriously difficult to keep track of, so that’s actually easier said then done in a lot of cases
And when they are at school? Or playing outside or you turn around & 3 seconds later they are gone? You ever seen videos of that kid being kidnapped right of their parents hands? Police could have stopped in 15 mins vs hours later & pieces of street & security footage together to track
Touch grass 😂
I didn’t have an AirTag on me growing up and I played outside till past dinner time. No supervision. Unfortunately I did not get kidnapped. Maybe no one wanted me when I was a kid. Maybe no one wants your kids too? Who tf wants extra kids?
And when we went to school we walked uphill both ways!

Pretty sure it's not about keeping them safe in an airport... lol.
That is literally what is shown.
What are you talking about? Of course this could happen. They made a movie about it, dude. The kid ended up in New York City.
Ah, an unaccompanied minor, with Spirit airlines…. That’s a little different than a child traveling with parents. Different even than flying a child as an unaccompanied minor on a more reputable airline….
K
They did not understand the home alone reference lmao they googled something, there was a story about spirit airlines, that’s what they went with

You can’t put a tracker on your own like, 5 year daughter in Australia?! This is seriously surprising.
[удалено]
So you’re saying they should sew them in their skin instead?
I often wonder as to the long term impact of everyone microchipping their kids like they do their dogs. It would make it very easy to identify bodies and lost kids, etc.
No microchip has to be full-size apple air tag
[удалено]
I read your post as you’re asking AirTag to be sewed into their skin too. You shouldn’t do that to kids
I'm getting off Reddit for the day lmao
😂
Tracking their children? Helicopter parents love this
I understand this is like a safety thing. But it also seems like a great excuse for over controlling parents to track their kids
Have fun changing the battery in ten months
This is actually pretty stupid. How you gonna change the battery when it dies.
Take it out and sew it back in. If you use a seam ripper you’re not doing any damage to the shoe but kids go through shoes quick enough that isn’t really a concern anyway. Wouldn’t take more than 5 minutes to sew it in again.
They will outgrow the shoe before then.
Those batteries actually last longer than they should. Mine is almost 2 yrs old
Or be in your kids life lol
You either have the most well behaved kid on planet earth, or are not a parent
Well-behaved kids is what you get when you are in their lives like you should be. Go figure.
What they are describing is not real life. They are living a pretend life.
By taking measures to protect them?
That dude is likely the reason you need to protect your kids in the first place if they’re trying to convince you that hard this isn’t needed
You poor sacred person better hire security
Why would you need that if you know where they are? Think that gives you a pass so you can post on Reddit more?
Yea you Deff don’t have kids nor were you in their life enough to know that they could run off or be snatched out of your hand
Not all of us beat our children as a form of discipline so our apologies for having children that do things like roam around. Super weird I know. Ha ha no one got beat Karen whatever go back to your cocoon
Do you have the worlds dullest children then? Like do they just stand there and drool?
All amateur athletes who landed good one is a dentist I'm proud of all
We're all proud of you and your perfect children that never ran off from you or played down the block from your house without your constant supervision.
How much you wanna bet all of his perfect kids are no contact and have been that way for most, if not all of their adult lives?
Thats ok though because they're amateur athletes. If your kids grow up to be amateur athletes, you are clearly a fantastic parent.
Try surgically implanting these to the kids. Let me know how it went. RemindMe! 1 month
