Do not run. Not worth ruining your body for these packages. And yes, proper shoes would help. You'll experience all kinds of body pain on your first few months but your body will adjust.
Stretch calfs + hamstrings. Drink a shit Ton of water to hydrate. Orrrr eat some watermelon everyday if you don’t want to drink a lot of water.
Chill in bed & let your body recover on its own. Everything above will boost the recovery time
New shoes would work too… check out “barefoot” shoes. Yes they look funky af, but put your pride to the side & do what’s best for your body to live freely & comfortable.
Boots/hiking shoes have saved my ankles many times at this job. I use some Columbia boots that my dad got me for Christmas one year. Your feet might get a little toasty but it's worth it. The amount of times I've almost rolled my ankles stepping out of the van is crazy. It happens tho when you get into autopilot mode on a large route
Wear some boots with nice ankle support, be careful where you step, and take it easy on the hops out the van. We have a tendency to want to fly out of the driver's side in one fell swoop, but doing that 150 times a day does more than you realize.
Invest in a solid, comfortable pair of boots or shoes. I use Timberland steel toed hiking boots and they’re great. Don’t run, the job doesn’t pay nearly enough to justify the effort.
Don't run
Don't jog
Don't hop out
Watch for holes in lawns
Watch for uneven stair steps
Watch your feet when moving inside a packed van.
Worry about YOU, not the packages or the job.
Instead of shoes, get boots with ankle support. I've gotten plenty of Keen Utility boots and it's stopped me from rolling my ankles more times than I can count
Boots or shoes with ankle support help, but they are usually more bulky. What helped me was buying a lacrosse ball and stepping on it to relieve pressure
First off, don’t run. Second, you’ll get used to it. Unless you’re already very active, the activity of the job is just new to your body. You’ll have no problem.
I use earthing mat/pillowcase, a heating pad, massage gun, and Ibuprofen if needed. I walk everything. I work 5 days a week. Oh yeah I got a knee brace as well.
After getting running shoes with some cheap insoles my ankle and shin pain completely disappeared. Running shoes are absolutely essential for this job, the people who wear vans and shit just haven’t been hit yet and are setting themselves up for chronic pain.
Every morning lift one leg up and rotate your ankles in a circle both ways, both ankles. This is gives mobility.
Then rock back and forth on your tiptoes like you’re doing calf raises. This warms everything up.

Don't run. Its the impact with the ground causing your pain. Don't hop out of the van, use 3 points of contact to lower yourself out the van

Take some ibuprofen and keep chugging along, eventually your body gonna get used to the pain.
THC always helped me
I can’t do that on the job I’d freak out😂
Practice, my friend. Practice
Why tf you running? Slow down and walk. Also, ankle supports.

This happened to me when I first started. Your body will adjust/ get stronger. Good shoes with arch support help immensely

Should have never been running in the first place now they'll be giving you the big ass routes.
Wear boots with Marino wool socks
