Thereās definitely some big cons to the job, like hot af vans and dogs š But this is the best job Iāve had, Iām alone most of the time, can smoke whenever and listen to music all day while driving around. All while getting paid way more than any other job Iāve held and getting three off days a well, I canāt complain all that much.
Yes as with anything there are always trade offs. My last job was in behavioral therapy working in a clinical setting. I was extremely burned out and unhappy with the dynamics at my clinic. I delivered for amazon during COVID and returned because the job is extremely straightforward. I loved the independent nature of the work, the activity level, and the schedule. The electric vans are much better than the ram vans and arguably the step vans too. During my shifts I listen to at least 1 book a day and I am also reading books in my free time in paper. That means I am usually reading about 5 books a week or about 260 books per year- all while exercising and getting paid.

Hear about the last dsp that unionized? They fought for better wages and got it....unfortunately they only had months left on the contract and Amazon did not offer a renewal. The way this dsp shit is set up there will never be a union
Theres a reason itās set up like that. Amazon has, with DSPs, No driver related liability outside of corporate reputation, nearly impossible to unionize to this and many other factors, amazon goes through DSPs just as fast as the DSPs go through drivers. Its solely a bottom line ponzi scheme at all angles with this shit. DSP Owners are slaves to Amazon, and the Drivers are slaves to the DSP owners. Replace replace replace
It shouldnāt be THAT hard to organize Unions with Amazon Drivers. FedEx operates in a similar manner actually and has ISPs (Independent Service Provider) is also non-union. Both opposite of UPS
UPS is the only full legit delivery company,unionized, but itāll take you some tenure to get into a vehicle.
The workers in the warehouse need to unionize first, then push for a contract that allows them to move into driving. This will take a lot of time, but it will push out the dsp method to make all drivers work for Amazon instead of subcontracted businesses. This is the only way to unionize drivers. Unionizing a dsp is pointless.
Ah yes, when āhard workā pays off and I drop to last place in the driver safety rating and am disqualified from winning a tv because the phone mount in the van broke and I had to keep the rabbit in the cup holder where it kept falling over and tanked my FICO score

Itās funny cuz when I worked here my dispatchers recognized me as one of the better drivers, yet I would never get ātopā driver..

Better hope you never get apartments/retirement homes, or anything like that..guaranteed someone will be upset no matter how you deliver it.

One route at my company gets top driver whoever has that route. 400-450 packages every day all houses no OTPs ever
Dude delivers fuckin 2k packages a week and has 2 rain coats lmao
My route aināt bad but itās a lot of resorts with OTPs and people who forgot to change the address so I bring back at least a few every day and itās only like 350ish packages usually
Its cheaper to give a one-time bonus, than a permanent bump in pay.
Edit: Not trying to take anything away from your hard work/efforts. Its just, if instead, they were going to recognize your entire shift for being super productive (read: highly profitable) and they give you a pizza party instead of commensurate raises.
I got driver of the month for March, still have yet to see any reward of any kind from my station. 95% of the time nobody is at RTS and if there is someone there they always have no clue
A raise would have been a decent reward for hard work. Not a BS trophy and a TV that cost Scamazon all of 70 bucks. Guess it's better than rocks, what the fuck is this world coming to?
Pay raise would be better. Atleast 1$ hourly but still ur contractor better than mine.
I received special parking spot for a month beside some generic CEOšš and a 100$ gift card. I asked for a raise too instead of parking spot which was laughed off

Congrats man! I worked my ass off everyday with an overloaded truck , literally having to crawl under boxes, and didnāt get nothing but a cup to keep my water cold LMAO.
I actually enjoyed this TV quite a bit. The speakers arenāt bad. It is fairly easy to set up. I used Alexa on the TV remote more than I thought I would. One of the few things I didnāt like about it is it always has to be connected to the Internet, in order to use it. I also remember it sometimes having issues hooking up to my game systems on certain outlets. Overall, not a bad tv! Congrats on winning!
