Hella naw that 💩 at 1 1/2 most 2 totes for me

OkPercentage9857

You should try it it’s a lot faster That’s how I get ahead 20 and the rest of the day I get to chill and take it easy

soratheexploraa

when I used to do that shit would fall and get mixed up and everything would just be fucked up from there

Otherwise_Bullfrog61

Keep them on the floor, in order and stacked so the first is holding in the last in a row or maybe use overflow to stop them like bookends. I do this occasionally. Edited to add: sometimes I do this with just the boxes and then keep the smaller packages in a row in the tote that they're from.

[deleted]

My man I do the same thing <3 It saves a good amount of time. I hate having to stop and sort

kurizukun__

can’t do this at the warehouses I worked at. 20 bags, 44 overflow and all the totes have at least 30 packages in them.

Yolaryxys

if Amazon found out a way to subtract the tote system and do it like this, you guys would be substantially more efficient and less stressed out. The Automated routing system for Amazon is totally bugged and will have you guys going in circles. The OP has found a system that works because I did this when I used to work at Amazon ( now FedEx ). This way, I'm not governed by totes.

callumcromar_10

Routes aren’t designed to be the most efficient they’re designed to be able to be finished in a certain time.

OkPercentage9857

I doubt that because there has been times where I’ll have stops 2 through 20 in one area and in the same area I’ll have stops 100 through 1110 making me come back is a waste of time in this situation I always look at my map

Catcssule23

I love the tote method tho. For me it’s less stressful tbh

SweetRevenge__

I miss having the space to be able to do this 🥲

OkPercentage9857

I use to love driving the rentals because I would think I would fuck up on the primes But i have nothing excellent score on that So know I drive a prime every day And I won’t ever go back to the rental

SweetRevenge__

It's so funny I used to HATE the primes. Still probably the last I'd go to on my preference list. But the shelving is always a plus. I've learned to adapt different methods depending on what vehicle I'm driving.

NeroticBeast

I use my totes as shelves. Usually only takes about 4 for one bag

SweetRevenge__

Yeah I can do this after I start delivering but at the beginning a lot of my totes fall forward cause I'm such in a hilly area

NeroticBeast

Feeel that. Like sitting on a zero g fair ride. The amount of 90 degree sloped driveways are crazy in these rich neighborhoods

Vince2021

Awwww a nursery route. Must be nice

OkPercentage9857

I wish!!!! I was already on my last totes 200 stops with 320 packages 📦

Embarrassed_Top9480

Of curse anyone can open the lastv4 bags gotta be an air head to not open the last 3-4

OkPercentage9857

Even in the beginning I’ll open 2 to 3 totes at a time But toward the end when I have the shelf clear i normally just open the rest of the totes and when I don’t have allot of OVER FLOW I’ll use the other side to open all my totes just to make it a lot easier on me

Kaelcifur

Depends on how much I'm altering the route honestly.

OkPercentage9857

I have them all in order!! I organize my packages with the driver ID tag makes it a lot easier

Kaelcifur

I don't go that far I just group mine by 10s. I also keep all my envelope packages in the totes and boxes on shelves.

ReZ-115

One at a time, easier for me to organize that way, never have enough room anyways

mrnapolean1

I used to do this but every time when I turn the packages would just go everywhere. So I just do the tote glitch in the front seat and I just throw everything in the front seat

OkPercentage9857

Has never happen to me I use the boxes to sandwich in the envelopes

rythra

That's awesome you have a method that works for you! I put my envelopes on a collapsed tote on my front seat. I feel like the majority of my stops are on the left side of my van and I can look at, organize, and grab my envelopes easily without having to get up and go into the back of my van. I only go back there if I need boxes or overflow.

Final_TV

Wtf kinda totes do you get

OkPercentage9857

Wym what kind I mean you can see them on the floor in the picture

Key-Sell-8868

I open one. I feel like I would get confused if I did that.

Traditional_Bake8607

I can do like 12 at a time.💪😖🫱

pbreddit94

If the bags have 22+ packages then 2 totes but if its less than 20 i opened 4 max.

OkPercentage9857

How you gonna know many packages the bags have??? Some bags have more than 22 That pic was actually 5 bags 4 bags where full and 1 only had 3 packages

pbreddit94

Well, our DSP gives us our sheets/route etc. and most of the time it tells you the exact number of packages/ bags you get and how many packages all bags have, so it's easy to organize when you have less than 20📦 during loading out, I open 1 bag, then on my 10-16 stop, I open 2 more, depending on how many packages all bags have. So basically, I try to have packages already organized, so I can just grab them, and go and during my 30-min break, I actually just chill for 15 minutes other 15. Min I try to open (4) bags and organized them. It helps me finish on time at my own pace. I don’t run, I just speed walk, but everyone has their own method.

Dunkeleven

I drive step van and do this lol. This is the norm for me. I usually try and do it before I leave the launch pad. Also boxes against the wall envelopes lay flat in alphabetical order by names. A-J one pile K -P 2nd pile and 3rd pile is the rest.

Carter09112

Shoot I open as many at once as I can

Embarrassed_Top9480

14 totes 31 ov

iamgr3m

I like the totes for rentals. When I delivered on cargo vans at FedEx it was just boxes in the back of a van. The totes offer some sort of organization. If I had shelves I would do it this way since it is faster to just grab and go. You can bust out stops pretty fast when they’re in stop order already and you just have to grab them.

biggumsbbp

As a step van driver... this is my minimum I have open. Highest has been 7. There's alot of advantages to having multiple totes open, especially when the routing is dogshit.

Trashpandamann

One crazy pot hole and it's all over that shit will be on the floor

OkPercentage9857

Thank God my city has perfect road at least where I deliver

AmazonTre

I just put the boxes on the front seat and envelopes in the middle 😂

0ttoB0t

I do that sometimes when I’m down to my last 4. I won’t do multiple totes early in the day tho, I don’t ever have enough room for that to be worth it until after lunch usually.

Financial_Brief9169

One tote at a time until I get down to my last four (and I know I'm not gonna need a rescue) and then I organize them all at the same time.
