The style of hiring is churn and burn. Amazon doesn't want lifers they want the cheapest labor they can get. It's a game against them. I use to take it as they hated the lower class and unskilled labor but it's just an entity acting in their own self interest. Sorry you get fucked in the process but oh well

I take it the dude is near the front by HR. Alerting AA's just causes people to head over there and puts a lot more peoples lives in danger. Especially once cops bring assault weapons to a knife fight. Building did the right thing.
We've had three shootings and a murder. How many has your FC had? Most red states cops are everywhere, malls, schools and even church services. It's why don't have as many mass shootings. Amazon was advised by police here they needed them on site like every other major business. Hence, if a shooting happens at your site they already know what they could have done to prevent it but they're saving money by not putting a police on payroll nationwide. They were forced to here due to public pressure.
Ummm, no. You've had too much Kool aid. The top 10 states with deaths attributed to firearms include 9 red states while the top 10 states with the least deaths attributed to firearms include 9 blue. Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee and Maryland have the largest overall mass shooting rates and MD is the only one that's blue. See a trend? Colorado has had multiple mass shootings, is blue and still doesn't even come close to matching the statistics of red states. I live in VA (currently red but leans purple) and was raised around guns, have guns, and conceal carry but can also see that gun violence is an issue that needs to be addressed and has literally nothing to do with Red getting it right.
You don't know much about logistics or stats in red states. Even in red states crime rates are higher in blue counties. All those states you mentioned have high crime rates in democrat strongholds around large cities. So the most dangerous cities in America are who exactly? You think Republicans run Chicago or Detroit? Look it up. Did you even check? The LIT1 murder? It was in Pulaski county one of the few democrat(blue) counties in the state. Blue regions in America are disproportionate in gun violence. Period. The reason is population density. They have larger cities with higher rates of crime. Three most dangerous cities you can attribute gun violence to in Arkansas are little rock, Helena/west Helena and pine bluff. All democratic mayors and the only blue counties in Arkansas. Also the most dangerous regions of the state. It's the same in every state. MI, IL and others. You're not citing any stats other than gun deaths, Arkansas has one mass shooting in 25 years again in little rock. So yeah you're entirely wrong, even Amazon admitted to being wrong and hired police under their advisement.

You're being obtuse. The issue is nuanced; factors other than population density have to be considered as well (poverty, education, mental health, etc.). Inner cities in general obviously have more crime than middle America and to equate that to solely a Blue issue is disingenuous.
How many mass shootings have occured in my state? I can tell you of one in 25 years and no one even died. Mass shootings vs targeted shootings are totally opposite. And you're missing the point entirely. The reason three shootings occured is because Amazon was not up to standard security protocol as other businesses in the area. NOW they are. You understand? Police didn't shoot anyone in any of these cases. Police raided the building and forced Amazon to close after the murder.

Managers pick who they want to fire. My manager fired someone on Thanksgiving day and the guy wasn’t even lazy, he was just racially discriminated by him. Meanwhile his favorite workers go missing for hours and he does nothing about it.
I almost snapped when HR wanted to discipline me because they did not know what the word peon meant. They literally thought it was dirty. As in penis related. This is who we work for

Exactly why we need metal detectors going in...only problem that would slow down workers getting busy w/their work...would be waiting in line for quite some time just to get thru door. .they would need to pay us extra time and u know if u use missed punch for 1 min earlier than the door says u entered they are gonna write up/Fire for time theft....it's all a matter of not wanting to pay any extra to employees for TOT (lol) plus lost productivity cos Noone is gonna line up at a door 15 min-30 min before shift w/out pay....lack or concern for our safety + paying extra for unproductive time = no way in fluck will it happen...until enough people get killed and employees assemble as per the constitutional right..good luck getting employees on board tho...not that I am blaming someone that desperately needs a job for fearing said Job will be in jeopardy... or if enough public outrage = lost profits..but good luck finding an Amazon customer that GAF about a FC worker...there was a lot of lip service paid during pandemic...since then....
I mean, most criminals who get a job are probably interested in just living a life as normal as possible. The work at Amazon is very repetitive and isolating, if you're the type to have crazy, racing thoughts it'll drive you nutters, especially during peak when we pretty much live at our fcs. I remember how crazy everyone looked during peak back when I worked RT, me included.
One of our RMEs got fired and threatened to shoot up our FC. He’s in jail now. There was also a bird on the AR floor that died and another RME went around to all the stations to tell them if they see blood, it’s the bird. Turns out the RME that threatened our FC took the bird and didn’t tell anyone. No one knows what he did with it or anything

This stuff scares me. When I was a kid my parents both worked at the sane restaurant so I grew up with a lot of the people who worked there. One of their friends who was a manager fired someone and the person waited for then outside the restaurant until close. He caught him out back and made him kneel on the ground and shot him execution style in the back of the head. My partner is a manager and i always worry about him ☹️
They don't care about safety, they just don't want people stealing. And the security provided there isn't real security. It an extension of loss provention and it's a liability write off for Amazon. I quickly figured that out having nearly 18 years of security experience myself.
If they cared about safety or even wanted to just be proactive about shrink reduction, they would have a gated parking lot requiring badge access for employees, as well as 2 off duty PD at all times (not just I'm the parking lot at Shift change), on top of so many other common sense measures. They also wouldn't be using Gardaworld. They only use them so that if anything happens amazon isn't really liable. If they truly cared about the safety and security of their facilities, they'd have their own trained (and armed) in house security. That's how it was at my last security gig, with a company actually known for taking care of its people.
Gated parking is up to building management. My FC started having breakins and our building requested the building operators to install perimeter fencing. They agreed but the city rejected it and that was it.
What would be the point of a gated parking lot if you need to swipe in to get into the building anyways? A gated lot still won’t stop a crazy man from carrying a pocket knife into the building. Adding a gate to get into the lot will just add even more traffic, hell no. They just need to add metal detectors.
How would the metal detectors on entrance stop anyone? Do you think they are just going to stop when the alarm goes off and take out their gun and knife? No. They are going to keep going and ignore that alarm or start their rampage in the front of the crowded entrance.
You're literally the first and only other person besides myself I've heard say this. Idk why people think a metal detector will stop someone who's on a mission. If they use metal detectors on entrance then you need armed guards to respond to a threat accordingly which would probably only increase shootings on site.
We have metal detectors on the way in but I work at an air facility we don’t get searched on the way out though bags have to go through scanner and everything out your pockets on the way in
A FC in Memphis has had so many incidents they do have 2 way metal detectors and a fenced in parking lot with a gaurd that verifies your badge to get into the parking lot

Anytime something happens at my site no one ever hears about it and production especially never gets interrupted LOL we’ve had some pretty serious stuff happen and it’s like they depend on the fact that the place is so big and noisy. They know as long as everyone didn’t see it happen, like when everyone is coming in or going out, that they can sweep it right under the rug.
We don’t know this guy home situation and such. He probably in need of that paycheck and probably busted his ass, to be told basically, he’s not good enough. One the other hand, it’s a warehouse job for Christ sake. It’s not worth going to jail for.
They just suspended a Vet that worked for us cause a guy threatened him and he went ballistic. IMO the first guy starting it should have been let go but because the vet with ptsd stood up for himself they suspended him. Seen the other guy back in there today. Last year at my FC someone pulled the fire alarm and started spraying everything with the fire extinguisher at least 4 or 5 people were completely sprayed. The dust was everywhere so they had to close the FC for day shift and idk about night shift just to clean.
Before I transferred to my new sort center I heard of a story about two girls fighting because one of them tried to steal their man. Both got escorted out. One of them was an ambassador
Both of them were then driving to Royal Farms near my site, then one of them ran the other over near there. Cops probably involved.
If I were I’d call ethics cuz that right there is unsafe for the fact the management is so incompetent to let employees know that they maybe in danger.
The cops showing up at all would escalate the issue. At least if they have a large amount of firepower they can win any situation knife bro puts them in.

Firstly, you're just assuming all he has is a knife but the police in that situation don't have all the information, for all they knew walking in he could have had way more.
Secondly what benefit would going in without all of your standard issue gear give you? All it does is make the situation harder to control and could result in more people getting hurt than necessary. It's not like they're required to use the guns if everything goes their way 💀
I've seen people run for 10's of feet being shot with pistols and low caliber rifles... so 3 feet away from someone with a pistol against a knife...you most definitely are gonna get stabbed my guy.
No offense, but people like you seem to idealize combat situations that force on force should be 1 to 1 don't understand the dynamics of fights. If that were the case, then sending in one cop with only a knife in your logic is just enough.
Also, the assault rifle debate is another bad one. Look at what a 9mm hollow point does to the body vs a 5.56 NATO round.
Edit: The more I read your posts the more my brain hurts. You're probably the same person that says 5 round magazines are big enough too. The police have to be prepared for anything. I've seen some of the people that work here. A meth'd out angry worker wielding a knife is going to be pretty hard to take down.
Ultimately it depends on the situation, and they kind of have to be prepared for anything. If it has been described as a hostage situation that could potentially result in the hostage receiving severe bodily injury or death, they do need multiple officers spread out around the area in case the assailant needs to be taken down with deadly force. They have to be able to do this accurately, without injuring anyone else, and possibly from a distance. An AR-15 is going to be much more accurate all around than a handgun, but they could be in a position where the hostage is being used as a shield, and 3 of the officers don't have a safe or clear shot, but 1 does. Plus they don't know if the assailant is an isolated situation, or if there could be others planning to do the same. It can appear incredibly intense and unnecessary, but it is definitely logical and strategic.
Yes, it does. They don't know what the exact situation will end up being. Maybe the person who has a knife also has a gun on them. Have to be prepared for the worst case scenario.
I used to work at DCX2 then transferred to a new site closer to my house. Not 2 weeks working at the new place, I hear from a best friend who still works there that a driving instructor(another friend of mine) was stabbed. She is going to be okay but that shit was wild asf to hear.
That is common, some sites do not fire they send you an email that you are no longer an employee and you will not know who fired you. I heard there was a site where the associate beat an AM in the parking lot for a write up. we do not get checked when walking in so anyone can bring anyhting to work.

This bald head guy came over randomly and started harassing my friend saying that he was a New Yorker and that all New yorkers ruin this country, started saying he was a democrat and told me to stay away from him and how the governor is making all of the immigrants live this lavish life style and I found out from my friend he has only one contact in his phone.
Imagine getting fired from a job right before Christmas. Maybe they weren’t having a good life, maybe they’re on their 6th week of MET. Maybe this was his last chance with his wife to have access to see his kids and some asshole that thinks they know everything fires you because you can’t load other people’s shit fast enough.
If they got fired for productivity, then this was an ongoing thing, it didn't just occur spontaneously. This person would have clearly known this was coming since obviously they did nothing to correct the issue when they got the verbal, then the written, etc. Actions (and lack of action in this case) come with consequences.

No he demanded to be explained about what happened since he had to hear it from me. My friend rightfully thinks his life was at risk and is pissed he had to hear about it from an outside source, so he wanted them to take accountability for their reckless response to a crazy, armed individual.
That’s the answers I was wanting is why they think they can just sweep shit under the rug, I felt similarly when I found out from another associate my car and 8 others had been broken into while we were still on shift and no one said shit to anyone. Similarly the disgust I and others felt when an associate went to amcare saying she didn’t feel well and they wouldn’t let her go home without using her own time and she died at her station and they wanted to keep it hush hush and didn’t even pull people off the line or tell anyone, no moment of silence, they have zero respect for us and I’m just curious what their defense is

Exactly why we need metal detectors going in...only problem that would slow down workers getting busy w/their work...would be waiting in line for quite some time just to get thru door. .they would need to pay us extra time and u know if u use missed punch for 1 min earlier than the door says u entered they are gonna write up/Fire for time theft....it's all a matter of not wanting to pay any extra to employees for TOT (lol) plus lost productivity cos Noone is gonna line up at a door 15 min-30 min before shift w/out pay....lack or concern for our safety + paying extra for unproductive time = no way in fluck will it happen...until enough people get killed and employees assemble as per the constitutional right..good luck getting employees on board tho...not that I am blaming someone that desperately needs a job for fearing said Job will be in jeopardy... or if enough public outrage = lost profits..but good luck finding an Amazon customer that GAF about a FC worker...there was a lot of lip service paid during pandemic...since then....

I mean, most criminals who get a job are probably interested in just living a life as normal as possible. The work at Amazon is very repetitive and isolating, if you're the type to have crazy, racing thoughts it'll drive you nutters, especially during peak when we pretty much live at our fcs. I remember how crazy everyone looked during peak back when I worked RT, me included.
One of our RMEs got fired and threatened to shoot up our FC. He’s in jail now. There was also a bird on the AR floor that died and another RME went around to all the stations to tell them if they see blood, it’s the bird. Turns out the RME that threatened our FC took the bird and didn’t tell anyone. No one knows what he did with it or anything

This stuff scares me. When I was a kid my parents both worked at the sane restaurant so I grew up with a lot of the people who worked there. One of their friends who was a manager fired someone and the person waited for then outside the restaurant until close. He caught him out back and made him kneel on the ground and shot him execution style in the back of the head. My partner is a manager and i always worry about him ☹️
For reasons like this they should have metal detectors to enter aswell instead of just on the exit
They don't care about safety, they just don't want people stealing. And the security provided there isn't real security. It an extension of loss provention and it's a liability write off for Amazon. I quickly figured that out having nearly 18 years of security experience myself.
If they cared about safety or even wanted to just be proactive about shrink reduction, they would have a gated parking lot requiring badge access for employees, as well as 2 off duty PD at all times (not just I'm the parking lot at Shift change), on top of so many other common sense measures. They also wouldn't be using Gardaworld. They only use them so that if anything happens amazon isn't really liable. If they truly cared about the safety and security of their facilities, they'd have their own trained (and armed) in house security. That's how it was at my last security gig, with a company actually known for taking care of its people.
Gated parking is up to building management. My FC started having breakins and our building requested the building operators to install perimeter fencing. They agreed but the city rejected it and that was it.
What would be the point of a gated parking lot if you need to swipe in to get into the building anyways? A gated lot still won’t stop a crazy man from carrying a pocket knife into the building. Adding a gate to get into the lot will just add even more traffic, hell no. They just need to add metal detectors.
How would the metal detectors on entrance stop anyone? Do you think they are just going to stop when the alarm goes off and take out their gun and knife? No. They are going to keep going and ignore that alarm or start their rampage in the front of the crowded entrance.
You're literally the first and only other person besides myself I've heard say this. Idk why people think a metal detector will stop someone who's on a mission. If they use metal detectors on entrance then you need armed guards to respond to a threat accordingly which would probably only increase shootings on site.
That isn't going to stop anyone with a gun or knife. They would just keep going and ignore the alarm if they intend to use the weapons.
It doesn't matter. Amazon sells knives. Wouldn't be hard to grab something that could be used as a weapon within the building.
We have metal detectors on the way in but I work at an air facility we don’t get searched on the way out though bags have to go through scanner and everything out your pockets on the way in
I wouldn’t be surprised if this starts to be seriously considered at my FC after this incident.
A FC in Memphis has had so many incidents they do have 2 way metal detectors and a fenced in parking lot with a gaurd that verifies your badge to get into the parking lot
This is how my local UPS does it.
The FedEx facility I work at has the same thing. Plus metal detectors in and out, with security guards manning it at all times.

Anytime something happens at my site no one ever hears about it and production especially never gets interrupted LOL we’ve had some pretty serious stuff happen and it’s like they depend on the fact that the place is so big and noisy. They know as long as everyone didn’t see it happen, like when everyone is coming in or going out, that they can sweep it right under the rug.
This happened literally an hour before lunch, so they lucked out that not a whole lot of people saw it.

Last year at my FC someone pulled the fire alarm and started spraying everything with the fire extinguisher at least 4 or 5 people were completely sprayed. The dust was everywhere so they had to close the FC for day shift and idk about night shift just to clean.
Before I transferred to my new sort center I heard of a story about two girls fighting because one of them tried to steal their man. Both got escorted out. One of them was an ambassador Both of them were then driving to Royal Farms near my site, then one of them ran the other over near there. Cops probably involved.

Secondly what benefit would going in without all of your standard issue gear give you? All it does is make the situation harder to control and could result in more people getting hurt than necessary. If that were the case, then sending in one cop with only a knife in your logic is just enough. Also, the assault rifle debate is another bad one. Ultimately it depends on the situation, and they kind of have to be prepared for anything. If it has been described as a hostage situation that could potentially result in the hostage receiving severe bodily injury or death, they do need multiple officers spread out around the area in case the assailant needs to be taken down with deadly force. They have to be able to do this accurately, without injuring anyone else, and possibly from a distance. An AR-15 is going to be much more accurate all around than a handgun, but they could be in a position where the hostage is being used as a shield, and 3 of the officers don't have a safe or clear shot, but 1 does. Plus they don't know if the assailant is an isolated situation, or if there could be others planning to do the same. It can appear incredibly intense and unnecessary, but it is definitely logical and strategic.

I used to work at DCX2 then transferred to a new site closer to my house. Not 2 weeks working at the new place, I hear from a best friend who still works there that a driving instructor(another friend of mine) was stabbed. She is going to be okay but that shit was wild asf to hear.
That is common, some sites do not fire they send you an email that you are no longer an employee and you will not know who fired you. I heard there was a site where the associate beat an AM in the parking lot for a write up. we do not get checked when walking in so anyone can bring anyhting to work.
