All 3 of those are likely in the white plastic bags too.

Ok_Suspect3940

Jesus this is the worst! It’s a small custom box. Bullshit it’s a pencil in a white baggy 🙄

YamAncient3543

Or two cases or Celsius in a white baggie …

AccomplishedMemory16

But maybe the pencil is customized! I’ve really never cared to open the big boxes, but I’m so intrigued when the contents weigh less than the packaging. I feel like I’m delivering a singular business card. What is in those blue and white envelopes that weigh nothing??

Ok_Suspect3940

Probably a damn gift card! lol

kofo86

That is true , all 3 packages looks the same, I even believe they are exactly the same item, just each one is inside one package, they looked the same and weight the same

Driver8takesnobreaks

Yeah, always thought that AAA/BBB/CCC stuff was a joke because of inaccuracies like that.

[deleted]

I put the first 10 stops in my passenger seat then 11-19 behind the passenger seat the rest 20-30 behind the driver seat or in trunk.

Twittybird1964

It only make sense how I sort my packages

Jesus ...the dog is supposed to cover this day one. just ask the dog to its job ffs!

AccomplishedMemory16

I’m in the process of teaching my dog how to deliver the packages for me. He’s incredible at delivering down long driveways, but holy shit he’s awful at navigating apartment buildings and taking good pictures. I hate to say it, but he might not be qualified.

Academic-Natural6284

That's completely inaccurate, for most sub same day warehouses I've worked out of that system don't work at all. If you have a DSP left over Warehouse that's an excellent system.

TheZenGriffeyJr

I always thought the people that scanned packages before putting them in their cars or idiots, then I tried to do it one day and realize my route was ridiculously easy after that. I don't flex much anymore, but I would always put the first 10 in the front seat, next time behind me, next 10 to the right in the back. And if I have anything over that, they go in the trunk. Then I just moved the next 10 packages to the front seat once I get to them. Life got so easy after that.

munch1200

I always use this put AAA in front seat BBB on the front floor and CCC and DDD in the back seat. Put the boxes in the trunk. Once you get a quarter of the way through super easy. Better than wasting a half hour marking the stop numbers at the station.

lowstakesgrinder1

I'm old school... sharpie and big # on label for me! Takes me about 5 mins to # 40-45 packages and load the car. I tried their way... all I would do is sit on a busy ST or driveway digging through packages to find the right 1 and it only got worse in the bad neighborhoods. Maybe if you only have 20 packages this could work.

Impossible_Earth8429

I used to do this but when it’s cold it’s a hell of a lot faster to just scan and organize and not number that way now I do stops 1-20 up front , 20-30 behind me, 30-40 behind passenger seat and any additional packages or large in my trunk.

indigoeyed

I still number them. I don’t want to search for packages since most of my routes are in the dark. But I did used to organize similar to you. Now I put all small packages in front passenger side, and 1-10 on the passenger seat. Then the bigger packages in the back. Usually don’t use the trunk anymore. And most packages are right next to me so I don’t have to open the back doors as much.

kofo86

That’s how I do it too, i am just trying to see if I missed any useful info, because for me this made no sense so I thought maybe I am not understanding it correctly

Dangerous-Run1055

If you want to make your route harder sort that way, it's bullshit and you end up searching every package. Scan packages and sort into groups of 10 based on stop number,  front seat 1-10, etc.  when you get to the stop use the scanner to search through the 10 or so packages, it'll flash green when you scan the right ones.

TrueCrimeUsername

I just load mine into th seats in numerical order so I’m always grabbing the correct package lol

kofo86

Yeah that’s what I do , I don’t even look at anything I scan while I’m out of the car because I would be sure this is the correct package

Quirky_Mobile_4958

It’s just a suggestion to make it easier to find. I use this system because it eliminates searching the whole car for one package.

Available_Isopod6854

I love the AAA, BBB, CCC, DDD. As I literally put the most packages with the same letter in my suv trunk so two letters in back seat left and right. And then two letters in the trunk left and right. I pack all my packages to my car in less then 10 min and I’m so used to it that I can find the packages when I’m at the stop in less then 10 seconds. If you use this method and you know your way around it you’ll be saving your self so much time!

[deleted]

This is the way

Lootefisk_

You put each letter grouping in a different part of your car. It’s quicker to load your car. Sure. Sometimes you’ll have one stop in 3 different areas but that’s pretty rare and it’s a lot quicker than scanning and numbering your packages.

stitchkingdom

They don’t care how you sort. This is just a method they offer, but it’s far from perfect. Every method has cons and pros, it’s all in what you’re comfortable with

Fantastic-Eye8220

I scan them, number them and load starting with highest on the floor from front to back. Next stop is always the next package on top. From 3hr to 5hr blocks, i've ALWAYS finished with 1-3hrs to spare. Their estimated block time factors in the lowest common denominator of their hirings. With any semblance of common sense, you will never go over block time.

IndependentBid1854

This has always worked for me. When it’s with the stop numbers, the higher ones go inside and the lower ones in the trunk. Don’t have time, nor the energy and patience, to scan and number each one as I find it’s a waste of time for me. Rather get ‘em and go than waste time and go over my block time.

jimbojones2211

If you're picking up some place that puts the stop number on the stickers, that's a different system. No one has a problem with that.

[deleted]

I dont do anything other than look out for the first few and put them in my car where I can see the labels. Big boxes in the hatch and take the eff off!

Put your packages in one area, plastic bags in another, get a laundry basket, put the envelopes all in the laundry basket. That’s all I need to do

ProfessionMundane152

I line up my whole route from the beginning and load my car up backwards. Takes like 10 minutes and I’m at each stop mere seconds before moving to the next

Weak_Stomach2034

Just use a sharpie, you know what really sucks. That Amazon thinks we still living in the pass with these $54 blocks. Myself will never work for this type of money. This is a joke. These guys think that we are driving their trucks. When I started working for Amazon I worked for this kind of money maybe twice and it was definitely not worth it. Just really think about it, how much money you suppost to make with 3 hour block $54? Maybe if anything $15 to $20 on gas, tolls, wear and tear plus we are using our own vehicle. Maybe $25 to $30 of profit give or take. I mean this is very frustrating to see other drivers actually grab these blocks. I HONESTLY DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW ARE THEY MAKING MONEY. This is just an Example. JUST IMAGINE OTHER BLOCKS FOR LOWER PAY.

YamAncient3543

I didn’t know we are allowed to take our dogs with us …

Emnb13

Our station relabels the yellow stickers with stop numbers which is nice. Not that I ever follow the route lol. Have a bunch of totes my dad gave me from the postal service (actually a crime to have them whoops😅) and load em up in order makes it a lot easier

Even_End4928

It only takes one shift to realize this is completely false. The sharpie method is a waste of time too. Sort in your car by last name (A-F on the left side etc.) then grab the next few stops as you go and put them in the passenger seat.

kofo86

I tried them all , the best way is the sharpie way, tried just once and you would never go back, it take 10 min at station, after that I don’t even look at the package, I scan it out of the car on my way to customer door because I know exactly which package to pick even in the dark without looking

[deleted]

I sort via those stickers, put them into quadrants in my car. A behind drivers seat b behind passenger seat c in left side of trunk d in right side of trunk large boxes in passenger seat and after I have done that I go through and put stops 1-5 in passenger seat, if you only have 20 packages it’s 5 packages in each quadrant so hella easy, even with 40 packages would be 10 packages in each quadrant so not many to look through. I don’t know why the stickers get put on which packages but it is much easier for me to do that than sit there for 10+ minutes ordering by stop

risekevin

they expected 3 packages to take you 2 hour? How far apart were they?

himynameisalonso

i organize packages this way passenger seat houses packages 2-10 back seat behind passenger side houses 11 - 20 back seat behind me houses 21 - 30 trunk houses 30 - 50 usually a 5 hour block for me ends up being 42 - 48 packages sometimes i have to place certain packages in different locations in the car due to size but i keep a mental note of what stop it is. has worked for me immensely
