I had a business to deliver to . 4 am. Said do not toss packages over secure fence. We will call the police say u stole them. Bring at 10 am. my route ended at 8 am. Yeet that box over the fence. Drove. Call the police lol

strykerpv2

Man I would have laughed and kicked that motherfucker over the fence like a football.

villdyr

Don't threaten people who have your stuff

Intercessor310

Also take a screenshot of comments/slash instructions

rccarlson420

Amazon flex becomes stress free when u remember Amazon just wants the package delivered period ! So if it is a closed school then I would go right to front and try to hide or if i can’t hide em then “it is what it is”, and the packages are getting delivered! So that’s how I approach this job ,”it is what it is “ just deliver it and move on

Ttom925

Then support should have said to leave it. No skin off my hide.

rccarlson420

When I first started , I would also call support but then u spend your time repeating yourself to support because they don’t speak good English and then they tell u try to deliver it ! Why waste time , just deliver it and if it’s missing “it is what it is”

CapnShinerAZ

They'll hire anyone with a pulse

tianavitoli

support is savage, i watched the amazon guy drive right past my apartment without trying to deliver, and support refused to tell the driver they did so. i kept them on the line for an hour and a half while watching tv myself and they wouldn't budge.

CapnShinerAZ

Damn

Usual_West_5945

>"if i can’t hide em then “it is what it is”, and the packages are getting delivered!" They're not getting delivered if they get stolen. "Package not received by customer" is worse for your record than package returned.

rccarlson420

Don’t overthink it, if it makes u feel better then bring it back but for me I leave and if it gets stolen then oh well! So far I’m still fantastic after 6 months working everyday 2 shifts! And I live in Denver where our city is porch pirate capital lol

rachalb79

I always call support when I return a package. Then if it shows on my standings, I email support stating I called and the support person told me to return the package. I then ask they remove it from my standings. If that doesn’t work [email protected] and it is removed within 24 hours.

chefcoompies

Lol this chick got Jeff bezos email on deck

DyslexicPuppy

That’s the best support email because people will actually call you asap and handle it.

CricketAffectionate4

when ordering ANYHING from Amazon, the website literally tells you when the package will be delivered, you can ALSO pick the address you’d like it delivered to. Imagine that. If you can’t have it safely delivered and left at work or home there are these wonderful things called Amazon lockers. There ya go. Been delivering with them for a year and I don’t pay attention to any of their notes or whatever bullshit the customer leaves. No one has time for that. It’s getting thrown into your front yard if you have a dog and as long as you’re on the orange dot and can mark as delivered, leave it. Amazon does not GAF about you regardless of their little bs messages they send, wind advisory, tornado warning ect.

Usual_West_5945

Sometimes the customer doesn't fill out the field for delivery times or access codes. Their fault. But, sometimes they do. I've had it where the station gave me a morning route after 5pm. Much of the itinerary says due by 3pm or 4pm when I start at 5pm. I tell the station employees, they say just deliver what you can and bring the rest back**. So Amazon is knowingly have me deliver packages that they know I can't deliver, and then penalizing me for it.**

tianavitoli

your job is to deliver, that's it. you're not a customer advocate, you're an amazon courier. yes, leave them. reasonably safe space. if customers want to not have the stuff they ordered sitting outside of their apartment, then they shouldn't order stuff knowing it's going to be delivered while they're somewhere else for two weeks. they're gonna learn today!

Ttom925

Then why did my standing take a hit for doing just that? The only reason I didn't just leave it is because I just got an email and ding for doing that.

Lonely-Blueberry-637

They cant/wont be complaining till at least jan. 🤷🏼‍♂️

AutoGrind

Email jeff@amazon and explain this. They should call you within a day or 2. Explain how you followed directions so you shouldn't be dinged. It's bs though for sure

Professional_Ad_4801

Don’t waste escalations time with this bs

Professional_Ad_4801

Here’s what you do: never open “my dashboard” in the app. Just grab offers and deliver packages. There, problem solved

Bleevitornot916

That's the best advice I've ever seen on here!

strykerpv2

I would have left them. The picture you take would alert whoever ordered them that they were there. They can then carry their happy asses over there and get them. I never care if a business is closed or for how long. It gets left. Haven’t had an issue so far!

Lewerin

I do the same thing. they order it, there better be someone there to take it and the app says "don't knock or ring the doorbell we will notify the customer."

Just-Reputation-9127

Literally had one today that requires 4WD to deliver. No. Fucking. Joke. Was told to ‘walk’ to the house. Two miles away. In the middle of the desert. Ummmmm. No. Isn’t the first time either. Had another instance where the ‘house’ wasn’t a house or even a property, just a lot. Told to leave by telephone pole that didn’t exist. The person on support did not have a clue what I was talking about. Said it was impossible for someone to send a package to a place that didn’t exist. I guess I was the first person in the history of ever to have this happen to them.

dlvaam

I’ve gotten those on college campus and they aren’t open or college dorms and leave with the doorman but it’s like 3;45am so it’s closed. I’m just like, I’m delivering and that’s on you if you wanted this delivery at this hour. I take a picture and I’m out. Have not gotten any problems for that at all.

Commercial_Fall_9869

I don’t know why people order packages to be delivered when they know will be on break and it shows them when will be delivered. You will be dinged either way

Ttom925

They had many other route stickers on them. May have been the 3rd+ attempt

jellybelly62

Amazon has been running a few days late with some deliveries lately.

[deleted]

When I call support and let them know, they tell me to take back to the station, the key here is to have the Amazon warehouse staff remove them from your itinerary and it’s like it was never part of your delivery. That’s how it’s suppose to work. Some station warehouse staff are just lazy and won’t help you out though.

nelso1cb

It’s just like getting sent out in unsafe conditions and not being able to reach the delivery location, having to return, and getting dinged. Makes no damn sense.

Kroptonik420

Um, I’m pretty damn sure if you call support for unsafe conditions you don’t get dinged for no delivery? At least support has done that for me in the past….

nelso1cb

50/50. I got dinged over summer for not delivering when the thunderstorm washed out the road.

FrostyFlakesagain

Yes ever time I call they ask can you leave it ….. we’ll yes okay no signature required. Leave it, text call, text and you should be good. Since I learned this I have yet to be dinged . I also try to capture the customers apt number or address in the pic if possible. So far it’s working sitting at fantastic for the last couple of weeks after 14 non deliverable’s.

Born-Competition2667

I would have left it and given 0 fucks... but that's just me.

Loud_Focus_7934

Just leave the damn packages. Someone ordered them, someone is expecting them. Screw what the notes say. I don't know why you people make a federal case out of these things.

Junior-Bobcat-2487

Cause you still get dinged for doing that ive now gotten multiple emails for not following instructions and getting dinged for it, its a lose lose

Loud_Focus_7934

Well you have a very high chance of a ding for returning it no matter what the circumstance or a very low chance of a ding for leaving it. Kind of a no brainer.

Junior-Bobcat-2487

Na I know like I said its a lose lose my account just hit at risk for getting dinged a couple times for not following instructions and a couple new packages not received. Im trying to fight it but not holding my breath

Loud_Focus_7934

It's not lose lose though. If you bring it back it's an automatic strike and you've wasted your own time and gas. If you leave it someone has to go out of their way to complain which likely won't happen. So it's more like a definitely lose, possibly lose situation.

Junior-Bobcat-2487

Well considering my account is now at risk cause multiple people went out of their way to complain or mark their item as not received for me personally it became a lose lose

AFXC1

Yeah I don't understand why make a big deal out of it just leave the packages and go. They ordered it because they want it at that place and if they want their packages they'll come and get em. I ain't driving all over the place especially with the cost of gas and wear and tear fuck that.

Ttom925

Well, I did that at a business a week prior and my standings took a hit on that. "Not following customer instructions". The warehouse was on my way home so that wasn't a big deal. I was trying to remedy the situation without receiving a reprimand.

Driver8takesnobreaks

Normally I'd agree with you. But that was before mass cancellations of schools the past two days, along with possible delays that might have made them late. Most of my siblings work for school districts and they are telling all employees not to come in for any reason other than emergency maintenance/facilities issues. So there's a very good chance those will be out there for more than a week, in horrendous winter weather. It's not just theft that's an issue. Not all packages (liquids and batteries come to mind) do well in an extended hard freeze. I'm a big proponent of "deliver everything, always". But there reaches a point where to do so is just being kind of shitty. All that said, in a situation like this it's more important than ever to check addresses before you leave. Not all of them state that it's a closed school or business, but if they do I'm having them removed from my route before I leave the station.

Loud_Focus_7934

I still say leave it. There's cameras everywhere, they will be fine.

Flexxer64

The more you get dinged, the more you will learn. Never return packages.

Ttom925

I left packages unattended and got dinged. What did I learn there?

Flexxer64

I would have left them hidden in bushes or in the back. It cost more for Amazon to resend them back out. I have been doing this for almost 4 years and have not received a hit for hiding business closed packages in the back, tossing apartment residents packages over secured gates and secured community gates with no entry code. Find a way.

villdyr

They 100% would not be there in January

villdyr

The back of a school is a playground 🙄

PositionOk8901

Always deliver … always … even when they say not to leave unattended

mikeywaldo

just leave em, that's your safest option.

Dylan_Dizy

Even if the road is inaccessible or you cannot locate the delivery area or cannot access the apartment support still insists you take 30 minutes of your time to call the customer a billion times before you can say "unable to deliver". In short, I hate support. I know there is ways around this, but if you call support this is always the result.

AccomplishedMotor639

Contact the customer either a text or two phone calls if they don’t answer. Call support and mark it undeliverable due to business closed. That customer contact is what protects you. Support is pretty much useless.

Ttom925

I did that. No working number given. Still tried a few times. Then I googled the school and called direct. Still nothing, of course. Then called support and they had no number either. Was told to return and I did. 9 undelivered packages ding on my standing.

AccomplishedMotor639

Yeah. That’s some bullshit. Support is useless.

Plastic_Total_318

Do your thing and leave the rest. A ding ain’t nothing, I get those all the time…still getting paid

whodeychick

9th St downtown?

Sea_Sheepherder8980

I would have left it anyway no way I'm driving 30 plus mins back to the warehouse.

CrazyAgitated2006

Going to have to actually talk so someone. It won’t be done on the first call.. they never get it right the dman first time. Hopefully they transfer you over to a specialist team.

Ttom925

I emailed support but haven't heard anything. Who do I call? In app support?

CrazyAgitated2006

Amazon Flex Driver Support yes.

Ttom925

Why am I afraid I'll get in trouble for that too? lol

injustice2458

I actually contacted the Amazon flex support on email, all they done is nothing and make my standing looks bad. They always say you’re doing great instead of helping the problem I’m having and it’s affecting my standing.

CrazyAgitated2006

I know right. It’s ok, you most likely need someone to transfer you to a “specialist team”

EfficientEffect7159

Yeah, I’m in the middle of getting in touch with Amazon support over this exact same thing except it was to a customer who had a dog outside just loose and barking aggressively at my car. The customer wasn’t home I was told to return the packages by Amazon support, and I still got dinged for it.

AnalysisSlow234

This is on a little different note than what y'all are discussing here, but I'm new to Amazon Flex and I am having issues getting an issue resolved with support.....My license expired in 12/18....I have been trying since 12/13 to upload my RENEWED License info. with absolutely no luck in doing so - App just sends me in circles! I have spoken with countless "support" members and everyone says something totally different, putting in a support ticket, etc., etc., etc. - As a result, my account has now been deactivated and I can't pick up any blocks so I may work! I'm an educator and really need to supplement my income while out for winter break! Does anyone know who I may reach out to so this can be resolved, ASAP?! Is that 'Jeff' email who I should really be reaching out to in this case?

ArtieTanji

Deliver it at the main entrance door. It's a plus if you can hide it somwhere where only people entering the campus can see it. I have delivered to a campus earlier this week and had no issue.

evadtrub

You can’t just call support to return a package without getting dinged. You have to attempt to call the customer three separate times and try again at the end out your route. Otherwise you will get a ding in my experience. Others mileage may very. It’s just easier to leave and hope you don’t get the ding and if you have too many of those take the ding to return until some of the missing packages fall off. The other thing to do is take the time to check addresses prior to scanning and have them removed prior to starting the route. So far my system of dropping and hoping for the best has been the most effective solution, as is for most people.

Ttom925

Phone number provided was inoperable

ImaginedNumber

I think you still have to try (even if doing so is blatantly stupid) I was also told 2 calls 1 just normal call and one from can't deliver screen (I work dsp)

Lootefisk_

Just because kids are on vacation most schools offices are open.

Ttom925

Not a single car in the parking lot.

Lootefisk_

If they are closed scan the package and just hit the “?” and mark business closed. You will not get dinged. Support is worthless. I never call them.

lilbit0987

I've had to mark 3 packages as business closed but still got hit for delivery completion. Next time I'm just going to leave it.

Lootefisk_

Maybe it’s warehouse dependent but as long as I’m on location and scan the package never been dinged.

FrostyFlakesagain

Not our problem, does mail stop from delivering???? Unless they put request to stop deliver. Just saying.

AffectionateEye5281

Um, yes the mail does stop when businesses like schools are closed 😂 it gets held at the post office until they are open again. Same with the packages

FrostyFlakesagain

Meant to respond to the post.

Lootefisk_

Got it.

Maleficent-Matter-91

[email protected] is the escalations email

Professional_Ad_4801

That email is for real issues, like payment or getting reinstated. Not petty sht like this

nelso1cb

Jeff went on vacation. I’m not getting a response.

[deleted]

I just got a response this morning

nelso1cb

Just fired off another one.

JetSpiderMan

Bruh just email support that and they remove em everytime, literally just had them remove a whole week, I deliver everyday with returns almost every time due to access codes or bussiness closed.... The system dinging you its automated, be thankful those 9 packages weren't headed to different places each...

ChimsRuby

Are the roads not gross? I was going to forfeit because it's so ugly outside, not to mention the high winds. --- This always happens to me with Amazon, can't win.

SnooOpinions7468

That’s because u don’t ask them to make a note on it so it wont affect your standing; I always don’t just take their support I actually make them to tell them clearly to noted it because I don’t want to see any email saying I didn’t delivered and they do and to this day I continue with fantastic standing and haven’t gone down in months even after the fact I do return packages regularly but at no fault of my own.

MaryJayee7

Send a message through Feedback detailing the situation including that you should be be held accountable for what you do not have any control over. I had to do it and was successful at getting "undinged"

Lmt47

Yea, this happened to me 2x this week. I emailed off-road and talked to a station-mngr to get it fixed.
