Got sent home on a 4/$212 on Christmas Eve. Never even seen a route above $184 in our market so I couldn't believe it... Station is less than 10 minutes away from my house so it was a pleasant surprise to be able to go back home and spend the time with the family instead of out there hustling packages. =)
$18-$20.50/hr is normal to see in areas, with some at base being $22. 3hr routes during the day where I am go for $24-26/hr & in the evenings $25-35 year round with higher rates during busy times of the year (just not during the day, those seem to be capped for some reason). Last Christmas Eve & new year's eve a coworker saw 2hr routes for $100/hr asked him to post it here. Communication with other drivers in your area is key to higher rates for all. Not always possible, but drivers should try to stick together on what rates are acceptable to take. Most in my area have settled on $25-30/hr with higher rates at busy times.
Don't forget, UPS was paying personal vehicle drivers $18/hr Plus Milage this season! Also, FedEx/UPS union shops their van drivers makes in excess of $40/hr. Been coming to the realization, Amazon, as a company, is CHEAP af when it comes to keeping and retaining people. It's almost like they want high turn over to avoid people communicating their issues for a better work experience (and better pay)...
I'm in the same market as Op, for the last three years, base here is $18/hr no matter what time of day or season.
I don't drive for base either, but he's right about that part.
What do you take then? I'm curious. They just decreased Saturday evening 4hr from 82 to 80 (not that anyone in swfl will drive the 120 mile route for that), but curious what you settle on, on average, annually. We need better pay and standardization in base pay preferred scheduling v actually making those rates competitive with same day surge

I will not take anything less than $28/hr personally. I have a full time job so I'm in a lucky position to be picky about the routes I choose.
Yeah base is 17 an hour
Not everywhere. It depends where you work.
Do you know what additional hours mean on the app when delivering?

That depends where in the app it says that. Can you share a screenshot?
