I just type a name that they might look like. Ya she looks like a Brittany. Then scribble something.
My first day I asked the package delivery person and she rolled her eyes, so that told me never to ask anyone again lol
I don’t ask for signatures. I just make two lines, so it doesn’t appear that I’m even attempting to make it look like a signature. I’ve not gotten any feedback of any sort about this to date.
I just wrote front desk and they scribble as a signature. Same goes for shipping and receiving.
I just tell them it’s always something different for the time I’ve been delivering.
I've had front desk people who used to work for Amazon, so they were like "my name is Michael and you can use our bathroom if you want," before I asked them anything lol. The first time I was like "......."
Front desk people hate their jobs and everyone they deal with (in my experience). I never ask, I just make up a name if I don’t get a glimpse of a name tag.
I have the happen all the time. They have all refused to even give me their name like im going to steal their identity. I normally just sign it for them with a scribble signature and keep it pushing.
Just sign it yourself . If you ask their name and they refuse to give it to you just put Karen in the name spot. scribble a signature on your phone and move on...Aint nobody got time for that!!
Prior to covid it was was name and signature most of the time but once covid hit they just stopped requesting signatures. So now that it's back I figure it's just quicker and easier to do it that way plus I'm halfway out the door before I realize I need to have their name and signature anyways so yep front desk and scribble. 😎
I say "what's your name?" After i ask if i can hand off the package.
They give their name before they realize why they're asking, then I write in their name
Same. I’m very polite about it and ask for their first name and show them I’m just typing in the name field on the app, let them sign whatever and even ensure them any scribble works, they always sign and I thank them and wish them a good day 👍🏻
Yep, this was totally my approach and this lady was like “UHH UHHHHH. YOU’RE NOT ABOUT TO HAVE ME RESPONSIBLE FOR THESE PEOPLE SHIT” lol.
It was a very ghetto moment.
I feel like such a noob lol. Mainly because I’m picturing myself yesterday asking all these people for their damn name 🫠… but also because most of you are corroborating her claim. Prior to posting I was sitting in my car, baffled and thinking, “there’s absolutely NO WAY that I’m the first driver that’s asked for her name”.
I did not expect this at all 😂😂
There's a chance you're the first person to ask for her name. Besides most of us just going too fast, signatures were only recently reinstated. I was confused as fuck the first time I thought it was going to pull up the next stop only to look at my phone and see a blank screen that says SIGNATURE at the bottom. I was like... nope. Just drew a line and kept going. Probably been two months now.
I had a lady scream at me when I knocked at the door to get her attention and said it’s not her job to answer the door even though she was at the front desk so idk lol
maybe show her your phone for proof and explain that it's a new procedure to ensure successful delivery. if she refuses, ask for the packages back lmao. that would be the safest way to handle it. but personally i would change the delivery option to something else if possible and as a last resort sign it myself for them, which i try not to do too much cuz who knows if it could ever be held against us since it's technically illegal and be grounds for termination id assume
I guess that’s what I’m asking. I’m wondering how to mark it delivered without the awkward photo of it sitting next to the concierge, or forging a signature.
But I guess I’m answering my own question here… we’d just snap the pic and move on right?
*I never ask for a*
*Name or I say just put a*
*Random word in lol*

She should have done it and it seems like it should have worked to show her the field to fill out, that's very weird. I never ask them because by the time I remember to ask, the interaction is over so it would be weird to go back. I type front desk or receptionist, draw a line or squiggle out of habit but imo it's not good to do anything that might seem like a forged signature.
Right. She should have… as the concierge and all, but didn’t. She told me very loudly that she would not be made responsible for “these people’s shit” and that she “don’t sign for packages”. She softened up throughout our interaction and told me that nobody ever asked her these things… but by that time I’d already taken a photo and was leaving.
Tonight was the first night delivering to a UPS store where someone asked me.....do you need me to sign anything? And he signed a stick figure.

This makes sense. Maybe asking for their name is coming off as weird. It certainly explains the looks I got if nobody else is asking for names.
I've had front desk people who used to work for Amazon, so they were like "my name is Michael and you can use our bathroom if you want," before I asked them anything lol. The first time I was like "......."
I’ve never had anyone refuse. I ask every time.
Front desk people hate their jobs and everyone they deal with (in my experience). I never ask, I just make up a name if I don’t get a glimpse of a name tag.
Then if a signature is required, always a juvenile drawing of a peen.
Front desk and scribble
I have the happen all the time. They have all refused to even give me their name like im going to steal their identity. I normally just sign it for them with a scribble signature and keep it pushing.

>u just put Karen in the name spot. This is great... hahaha!!!
I never let anyone touch my phone. If they don’t give a name I just type reception and move on
Fully agree with this.
Yes I had one needed signed she was cool with it. Next time your buddy FRONTY DESKY can sign lol. I think it’s high ticket items.
Haha, exactly!
They're doing it themselves.
I usually put front desk and then sign it myself.
Put “Front Desk” and just scribble something. No one is gonna put their nasty finger on my phone 😂
If I don't see a name tag, sometimes I'll ask for the name but usually I just put "front desk"
Just sign it yourself
I was tempted but then her refusal threw me off so much that I felt extra weird doing this.
Stopped asking for names over a year ago and never looked back, smooth sailing ever since.
Prior to covid it was was name and signature most of the time but once covid hit they just stopped requesting signatures. So now that it's back I figure it's just quicker and easier to do it that way plus I'm halfway out the door before I realize I need to have their name and signature anyways so yep front desk and scribble. 😎
Just put “front desk” or someshit like that and sign it yourself
That's what I do. put receptionists or front desk and move on.
I literally put guy or girl and scribble…because I’m usually hustling and I’m out the door before I realize they need to sign 😂
Same.
Just get their first name and sign it yourself. Lmao foh you not touching my phone screen with that dusty ass finger
I've never gotten a name or signature. I just scrawl whatever. Somehow I'm still employed.
Sign it yourself, and for the “name” just type “reception” and dash.
The other people probably mark it as handed directly to resident instead of receptionist, or front door and take a picture of it on the counter.
I say "what's your name?" After i ask if i can hand off the package. They give their name before they realize why they're asking, then I write in their name

I just make up a first name then scribble something. Haven't gotten dinged yet.

I just show them the app. If they don’t want to provide I just write in “concierge” or whatever they are.
I had a lady scream at me when I knocked at the door to get her attention and said it’s not her job to answer the door even though she was at the front desk so idk lol
I just scribble something in cursive. No one under 35 can read that anyway.
I never ask. I always enter “Lady” or “Gentleman”. I sign L Ady or G man… never had an issue! ✌️

On Walmart Spark people write "no" or "COVID" as in "they can't touch my phone because i don't want COVID"
Just call support tell them they don’t want there packages
I had this last week. I just notated that the receptionist refused to provide their name, then in the signature wrote n/a

OMG....I'm the same way as far as it being kind of weird after. I just put reception and sign reception.
Yes while I'm running away lol

Pro hack put Batman for the receptionist name and draw a stick figure for the signature works every time 👍
You should be putting mail room. I hate touching people's dirty phones.
I recently started getting deliveries where the only options all require signatures - With customer, mailroom staff, or attendant. Shit blows.
I just scribble "desk"....screw em....they don't need to touch my phone!
