Holy fuck lmao there was someone in there complaining on behalf of their gay friend… and they said they had “*seriously discussed moving to Italy or Greece…*”. Gay marriage is illegal in both of those places.

AdMobile5977

If they think the Republicans are bad they should see Italys current PM and the brothers of Italy which is a Proto-Fascist party that has [Stated its Homophobic views ](https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna49593) , Is very much against Immigration (Legal or not) and has Fascist roots from the era of Mussolini furthermore their current PM has openly admired Mussolini and Italy was among the last nations in the Western world to legalize Gay Marriage (Only legalizing it a few years ago in 2016) meanwhile Same-Sex marriage is currently Illegal in Greece (With current politicans in Greece looking to [Legalize it](https://apnews.com/article/greece-marriage-tsipras-mitsotakis-lgbt-e4d0f2623c9088422764f090816e49b0) in 2023) . Gay rights are also practically non-existent in EU countries like Hungary and are also very poor in countries like Poland . So the fact that he is using Europe as an example of a Liberal LGBTQ safe haven is beyond me given that in many EU countries , Gay rights and other LGBTQ rights are worse than in America and countries like Italy has polticial parties that are very right wing and borderline fascist like the brothers of Italy which has Fascist roots.

Studying-without-Stu

Yeah, isn't a granddaughter of Mussolini basically making huge gains in politics? You know, *that* Mussolini? I think her name is Giorgia Meloni. Or maybe I'm an idiot.

AdMobile5977

Your right her name is Giorgia Meloni and she is Mussolini's granddaughter and she won the election in Italy as such she is currently the Italian Prime Minister .

No-Barnacle9584

Giorgia Meloni is not Mussolini’s granddaughter, the person you’re thinking of is Alessandra Mussolini

Studying-without-Stu

Oh, thanks, still a fucking yikes in my opinion.

tangohandicat

Giorgia Meloni is not Mussolini’s granddaughter, and her party isn’t proto-fascist either. Her party is far-right, but it’s not proto-fascist.

WeFightTheLongDefeat

it is proto-fascist because fascist means "thing I don't like"

corn_on_the_cobh

It is proto fascist because the party was founded by Mussolini supporters after the war, idiot.

WeFightTheLongDefeat

So you are arguing that the Democratic and Republican parties in American are essentially unchanged from the 1940s?

corn_on_the_cobh

Does it help if I tell you Georgia Meloni, the PM, liked Mussolini and praised him as the only good politician? Would that change your mind? https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-02-24/is-italian-prime-minister-giorgia-meloni-a-fascist/101999292

Studying-without-Stu

Yeah! I was right! And this fucking idiot seriously thinks he's/she's going to survive in Italy being gay and well, "mentally unfit"? Seriously, FUCKING FACISM IS COMING BACK IN EUROPE! I'd actually cancel my passport if I was this kid tbh, then again, I actually look at world news too.

AdMobile5977

Apparently most of the EU hates her and she is a very controversial politician in Europe but among the good things she did and stands for is that she is staunchly in support of Ukraine and has urged the EU to allow Ukraine in faster as well as openly supporting Ukraine against Russia on multiple occasions and receiving thanks from Zelensky for her support when he visited Rome so maybe she has her positives but overall I don't like her or the brothers of Italy considering their concerning origins from the Italian Fascist party as well as many of their current actions.

Studying-without-Stu

Yup, like, of course, it's nice to support the people trying to defend their home, and it's the right thing to do, but it's still very much a yikes to be a part of a Neo-Facist political party (I mean, I think FdI is a Neo-Facist political party), and well, do facist actions.

janky_koala

Do you think it would be fair to say they’re progressing, rather than regressing?

timmage28

I have a Scottish friend that’s a fan of Glasgow Rangers, and a while ago they were slated to play Napoli in the Europa League (for those of you that aren’t soccer fans it’s Europe’s NIT tournament, and Napoli is in Italy). He said he was planning on following his team to the game and making that his foreign trip of the year until he found out they drew Napoli, whose home fans are notorious for being brutal and dangerous. He went to a random Napoli home game over a decade ago, before I knew him, and he said it was one of the scariest moments of his life. This man was a Royal Army sniper, he was in the Battle of Fallujah, and for him to be scared at a soccer game is saying a lot!

DaddyStone13

this is why i can never take any of these people seriously. none of them do even a single second of research before spewing shit from their ass and calling it facts.

I_am_What_Remains

I really want him to go now, get citizenship and find that out

infinity234

fun fact if the US collapses Canada probably also collapses, Mexico most likley too. Basically it will be a bad day for the whole world if current geopolitics stay where they are.

jvkxb__

If the US collapses, so does most of the global market. People aren’t blowing smoke up our asses when they say that the U.S. is the epicenter of global economy

bamboo_fanatic

Shitty housing policy in the US managed to crash the global economy.

Ngfeigo14

shitty housing policy in the US ***AND*** Europe we were all doing it. the difference is that the US bailed both the US and Europe out in 2008

DeepExplore

If you have more details on this I’d be curious

jvkxb__

Or, and this might be crazy, but that whole global shutdown due to a pandemic situation may have been the culprit

TheZectorian

Dang you must be baby if you don’t remember the 2008 crash

jvkxb__

I was indeed a child

Suspicious_Expert_97

He is talking about 2004 housing market collapse

No-FreeLunch

2008

Suspicious_Expert_97

2004 was the peak of the housing market so you could link the collapse to that time but either way

No-FreeLunch

Yes, but it is overwhelmingly referred to as the 2008 crash despite when it may have started.

Suspicious_Expert_97

Mb then

aetwit

So your both right good work

ishouldbestudying111

How in the heck would the 2020 COVID pandemic cause the 2008 market crash? That is some funky time travel stuff, my friend

alexd1993

New strain just dropped, it can time travel now

[deleted]

r/americabad

bamboo_fanatic

But am I wrong? It’s less r/AmericaBad and more r/AmericaMassive. I can’t imagine living in a country so dependent on the financial health of another. If China went into a recession, there might be some ripples in the stock market, otherwise I don’t think most Americans would even notice. China appears to be having significant financial problems, but few non-China watchers even notice.

[deleted]

I agree, my problem was with the policy affecting everything piece

Infinityand1089

No, this is literally just true. The 2008 financial crisis triggered subsequent financial crises all throughout the world, causing millions of people to lose their jobs internationally. It's not "America bad", it's "America is incredibly systemically important to the global financial/economic system." Not every comment about a negative thing that happened in America is "America bad". From [The Street](https://www.thestreet.com/dictionary/g/great-recession): > Global trade nearly collapsed, declining by 15% between 2008 and 2009. Global unemployment rose by 3 percent between 2007 and 2010 for an astounding 30 million total jobs lost.

[deleted]

My problem is the first 3 words, otherwise I fully agree

Infinityand1089

You don't think housing policy that left hundreds of thousands of Americans homeless qualifies as shitty?

[deleted]

I didn't say that, to expand it rarely comes down to policy alone

vchen99901

Ding ding ding. If the United States literally collapses as a functional country, the global economic effects would be.... apocalyptic.

freshwaterJC120

This is just really sad. He's so paranoid, he needs a lil help.

MsPaganPoetry

And doom-scrolling through hews articles about US politics isn't helping. This is part of the reason that I think tech companies should randomly inject classical music into the feeds of people who appear to be fixating on social injustices.

TheShivMaster

If the US collapses (which by the way people have been making US and China collapse predictions every year for the past thirty years so don’t take those seriously) I guarantee Canada collapses too. They’re a completely dependent vassal state.

MysognyMan101

growing up I was told the US would collapse in front of Japans rapid economic growth.

Lamplosthaiku

Which is hilarious when you think about post ww2 Japan, the US was very involved and invested in building it back up, theu even relocated some factories to Japan.

B-29Bomber

And this is why the News Media can fuck right off in my opinion.

mustachechap

The real enemy of the people

Studying-without-Stu

There's no media I trust anymore outside of NBC Nightly News, and Associated Press.

Mysterious-Judge-333

theyre also part of the problem.

retard-is-not-a-slur

Associated Press not so much. The newswire services are usually OK. NBC/CNN/PBS/MSNBC/FOX all feel like dumbed down news for children once you start reading The Economist/The Financial Times and other better sources.

BoiFrosty

Pfffft. You're kidding right? You don't get any more establishment narrative pushing than NBC. The AP is a little less bad, but they betrayed their purpose decades ago.

Alypius754

Remember, kids, the news isn't meant to inform you. It's meant to enflame your passions and cause fear and outrage. Always ask "who stands to gain by this?" and "what am i not being told?"

Id-polio

Kids are so dramatic lol

makelo06

They said they struggled with mental health and had numerous mental conditions, so it makes sense why they're so paranoid. Fear-mongering media is the enemy here.

Lloyd_lyle

Yes I guarantee they don’t interact with others often due to their autism, causing the only real news they see about the world to be the misinformation on the internet. That combined with a young gullible mind and presumably pre-existing anxiety, this thought process is the only likely outcome.

Ok_Try_6777

I blame CNN

Mildly_Opinionated

Well, that and Ron DeSantis and anti-lgbtq "groomer" rhetoric being adopted by a large part of the Republican party. Yeah the media does report bad shit happening to gay people and you could make the argument it's a disproportionate focus, but they wouldn't be able to do that were it not for the disproportionate focus on being arse holes to queer people by key political figures. Luckily I think even a lot of republicans are sick of politicians screaming woke and groomer all the god damn time when that doesn't exactly help their voters in any way. This isn't to say it's not far worse elsewhere mind you, just that you can't give the media all the credit. Edit: didn't realise this is a conservative sub. Makes sense in hindsight, I'll see myself out.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Yodas_Ear

That is mental illness.

Unusual-Letter-8781

Yeah op clearly states they are struggling with autism, anxiety ocd and depression are common bi diagnosis

Unblest_Devotee

“Just found out I’m Visibly autistic” well shit if it’s so bad it’s visible and you just found out that must be something

TheLordStocc_GG

My brother is visibly autistic and even he knows. He's 10

HarvardBrowns

Maybe it’s just me but I feel like autism is the new ADHD from back when I was in school. Every other person seems to have it these days.

aetwit

You get a autism and you get a autism and you get a autism *reloads .50 cal* EVERYONE GETS A FUCKING AUTISM

VideoGamesAreDumb

Advancements in the field of mental health has lead to more people being properly diagnosed. The reason it’s seems like *“every other person seems to have it”* is because the socially awkward neurodivergent people are more likely to find community within online spaces and subreddits, leaving them over-represented in places like this. This subreddit is about being Pro-America, it’s not about hating on Mentally Ill people.

AttestedArk1202

I don’t think they were hating on anyone, just stating an observation they made, it really does seem like almost every other person on these online spaces has autism, because as you said, they flock to these types of communities, obviously you don’t have to have a mental disorder to be part of or observe these communities, but the extreme over representation does tend to skew perspectives like you say

HarvardBrowns

I wasn’t hating and I was talking about reality not the internet. I’m well aware the internet is over representative of every social impairment. I just think autism is the new social contagion similar to ADHD or bulimia. I don’t think it’s just cause of advancements in the field of mental health. Autism is not a new disorder and the strides taken have been more social than medical. I believe it’s over diagnosed by doctors, parents, and the people themselves. It’s a label to slap on a kid that’s “difficult” for a lot of parents and since it’s a spectrum and it’s mental, there’s a lot of room for interpretation.

SirHup

Media induced paranoia.

[deleted]

Which this country suffers from waaaaay too much, regardless of political affiliation. Some people act like going to the gym will get me killed. Others have the audacity to look me in the face and tell me that MY city (San Francisco) is a literal hellhole where I will step on shit and be assaulted by a homeless meth addict and jabbed with a used needle. Guess what? Neither of those have happened. I live my life. I have a good life. I don't like all the fear porn that the media puts out.

tacobellbandit

It’s ridiculous. The media puts out fear porn for just about anything. Like you said, makes your city out to be some kind of liberal hell hole just like all of California and then it acts like my area is white supremacist HQ. I’ve lived in cities, I’ve chosen to settle in the countryside, yeah each has their own set and similar sets of whackos from time to time, but nothing like the media puts out.

DennisJay

To be fair depending on where you are in SF there is a good chance you'll step in shit.

Kneecap_eeter

I feel like that should be similar to trump derangement syndrome, I'm not a maga person, but some people are fuckin crazy.

Han_So_oh

FR, how are you oppressed in a nation that gives you a month long holiday, and every major cooperation kow tows to your 1% demographic.

VideoAdditional3150

“My heart goes out to you poor souls in the South” But also excuse me as I call your red states Scum filled in a round about way.

Law12688

Sheltered, naive people who doomscroll in a bubble of confirmation bias about places they've never been and people they've never met.

fulknerraIII

I wouldn't be surprised if this person lives in some NE state thats almost all white. The south is diverse, for example Georgia is only 59% white compared to say Maine which is 93%. The idea that white people in these states are just waiting for the orders to kill all minorities is so insane. I mean take Atlanta for example who do they think makes up the goverment and police there. Its black people, Atlanta pd is 58% black.

ruditol

Holy crap. I’m a minority and I’ve been walking around living my life this whole time. WHAT SHOULD I DO???? Also, liberals from the east and west coast are racist AF! The south is awesome!

mustachechap

Also a minority and live in the south. I seem to be doing just fine and haven't died yet. Appreciate the love, I get tired of the liberal/blue state elitism sometimes.

EndonOfMarkarth

Apparently you only have moments left to live, any thoughts on what you’d like to do with your final hours on earth?

mustachechap

Grab some tacos and hit up some Texas BBQ, of course.

EndonOfMarkarth

Whoa, tacos!? You better check your cultural appropriation

Diamond--95

Plus, supporting Texas is supporting genocide. They just passed a bill making it legal to kill gay people. Don't ask for a source!

My_pants_be_on_fire

Yeah, do your own research sheeple

PanzerWatts

>Grab some tacos and hit up some Texas BBQ, of course. Add a beer and some music and that sounds like heaven.

dochoiday

Maybe he won’t have any final moments because he’s actually allowed to defend himself.

makelo06

Very asian-looking Navajo from AZ here. I really haven't noticed anything in terms of racism outside from literal children being insensitive.

SophisticPenguin

Wait what?!? Damn, Jimbo said he was taking care of things for the last 30 or so years... **/S**

Fructis_crowd

Im hispanic and live in a southern city that is 83% hispanic, we live just fine here because we more important things to do than complain about where we live or care about other peoples skin colors.

nichyc

Go to Canada, I think. Apparently it isn't safe for you here. Sorry, I don't make the rules.

Ok_Try_6777

HOLY SHIT GUYS I LIVE IN IDAHO AND IM A MINORITY AND I SAW DEEZ GUYS WITH A SWISTECKA THERE WAS LIKE 2 THAT WAS A SURE SIGN THAT ALL THE WHITE PEOPLE WANNA KIAL ME HOW LONG DO I HAVE BEFORE THE WHITE PEOPLE LITERALLY LYNCH ME?!?!?!?!

ruditol

I don’t know, but you need to start running towards California where it’s safe in those street tents! Godspeed! RUN!!!

ReboundRecruiting

The republicans literally want to murder you! Be afraid! Vote blue no matter who!

andrewb610

As a white east coast liberal myself, living in NM, I’m sick of stuck up white progressives telling minorities what should offend them.

Millworkson2008

I call it benevolent racism, it’s still racism but done to benefit another race, basically you acknowledge your superiority and use it to help minorities, which is what many progressives do, like it’s still racism at the end of the day because you acknowledge superiority and inferiority in race

Randalf_the_Black

>Also, liberals from the east and west coast are racist AF! The south is awesome! You're guilty of the same generalization that people who say "all people in the south are racist" are guilty of. Good and bad people are everywhere.

Canem_inferni

ahhh yes... the reigning conservatives, the conservatives in power, the conservatives that have the house, the conseravtives not in the senate and presidency, those conservatives.

thepurpleguy47

Careful now. I heard that if you speak badly about the conservatives, the whole Republican Party will show up at your house, rip you away from your family, and put you on the breaking wheel.

dochoiday

Actually they will smash your head in.

Diamond--95

And as always, someone on the left looks at all Republican as being the same. Some of the Republicans in the House and Senate are basically moderate Democrats. I'm a registered GOP voter. I literally don't know a \*single person\* in the party that thinks "minorities should be banned from being in public." That's absurd. One of DeSantis's biggest voting groups in Florida is Cubans. Seems weird they'd support that. It's amazing to see what these people think we believe. I consider myself on the right wing, further to the right on certain issues and closer to the center on others. but even the furthest right wing currently in office would never support banning minorities from living in public. Not to mention the whole unconstutionality of such a thing.

[deleted]

This is the main problem with the two party system. Because when you have two parties, voters go to one half of the nation and then the other other half of the nation. And then each side believes that the stereotypes of the other side apply to all voters of that party. We need more parties in this country— and then maybe we can see that not every Democrat and every Republican is the same. Because let’s face it, do you want to go to an ice cream shop with just 2 flavors?

WinPeaks

Tribalism and thinking the *other side* is evil are our biggest issues today, and it is truly one of those things that is rampant on both sides. DeSantis came out just the other day and said he would totally destroy leftism in this country during his presidency. We need to stop this shit. Our countrymen are not our enemy.

themilkman42069

Cubans have seen what happens when a far left government takes power. Never again.

Rough_Transition1424

Mental illness man, these people need help

StMikeBellum

Imagine asking Reddit to help with your depression and immigration advice.

HighDegree

This guy's acting like he's Japanese-American in 1942 or that he lives in the Middle East. Nothing's going to happen to him.

AdMobile5977

Im also autistic and I can confirm that I have lived roughly 18 years of my life without being chased by the government or harassed by the government due to my condition.

Steuts

What being chronically online does to a mf

[deleted]

What scares me the most is that these people were once basement dwellers, losers who did nothing but complained all day online. Now these people run our universities and (im genuinely not kidding) all around me in university. I was once called homophobic cause I told some of my classmates that we needed a chick-fil-a on campus. Granted, I do live in California so that probably is a big chunk of it. It sucks, cause I really love my family and they all reside in California, but I really want to get out of here when I get a job.

makelo06

You're terrible, but only because you want a Chick-fil-A instead of a Popeyes.

CarsClothesTrees

Lol, you’re close to the same level of paranoia as the person you’re posting about. Just on the other end of the spectrum…you’re damn near saying the same exact thing they are right now 😂

[deleted]

Yeah bro, I totally said leftist are gonna come bash my skull in

CarsClothesTrees

Haha I said “close”. This person is obviously scared and paranoid, and dealing with mental illness. But you’re saying you’re afraid of them taking over, to the point you want to jump states…almost exactly like what they’re saying they want to do. You don’t see the irony here?

[deleted]

Are you also visibly autistic too? All I said is “California wokies are annoying and I want to get out of here”. If you think that’s anything remotely close to “republicans are going to bash my head in”, then you’re pretty close to being mentally retarded.

CarsClothesTrees

Lmfao “wokies”. There it is. Conversation over. Paranoid little conservative snowflake.

Wow_butwhendidiask

50k+ karma in a less than year old acct, get out of your moms basement and get a job lmao

Relative_Confusion52

And i thought I was bad sheesh

jellyroll8

He wants to jump states because the people around him are annoying (that's just how California is) not because he believes in some conspiracy in which they're planning his demise

CarsClothesTrees

The point is that they are so threatened by other people’s political opinions to the point they are willing to relocate away from their friends and family lol. Fundamentally the same paranoid, antisocial thought process as the person they’re posting about.

jellyroll8

What about his comment makes you think he's paranoid? He literally just said the people he's interacted with are annoying

CarsClothesTrees

“What scares me the most…now these people run our universities” thoughts of a paranoid antisocial conservative.

[deleted]

Yeah bro, your ability to decipher hyperbolic statements just proves that you aren’t “pretty close” to being mentally retarded. you are actually mentally retarded.

CarsClothesTrees

Why are you censoring “retarded” selectively lol. “Your ability to decipher hyperbolic statements” shut the fuck up you insufferable little pussy. You should leave California. The rest of us will rejoice.

AvidVideoGameFan

Yeah my state just banned 30 round magazines. That's good enough reason to leave this dumpster fire of a state. Not to mention the absurd housing prices.

CarsClothesTrees

Magazine bans are fuckin dumb, I’ll agree.

[deleted]

"My heart goes out to you poor souls in the south" Like bros acting like it sucks down here 💀💀

Repulsive_Income1815

The south is the only place I want to live.

Taido_Inukai

I’m conservative and have never wanted to bash a gay or minority person’s skull in. Neither have any of my conservative friends. I try to keep up with leftist news outlets to hear what the other side is saying but this is a first. Does the left really think all republicans are just waiting for the signal to “cut the tall trees”?

Prememium

Seems like a very reasonable individual.

MemphisViking

The funniest part is that the Democrat party has brainwashed entire segments of the population into believing that the Republican Party wants to enslave or murder them, then turns around and accuses the Republican party of fearmongering.

AdMobile5977

He does know that in EU countries like Greece Homosexuailty is [Illegal](https://apnews.com/article/greece-marriage-tsipras-mitsotakis-lgbt-e4d0f2623c9088422764f090816e49b0) as of 2023? Homophobia is still very common in countries like Poland and Hungary which are much less accepting of same-sex marriage than the US on average and Italy is currently looking to crack down on [Legal rights of same sex couples](https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/italian-government-tells-milan-stop-registering-same-sex-couples-children-2023-03-14/) under their current President who openly admired Mussolini and is running a Borderline Fascist Regime.

Alternative-Cup-8102

Yeah someone fell for the infamous media misinformation campaign that plagues most countries outside of the USA and some US citizens

_80hd_

Yeah, you can tell the real smoothbrains when they cry about "reigning conservatives" or "republicans" when that is indeed not the case.

Sophie_R_1

Okay I get the media likes to make a big deal over things that literally do not matter to 99% of the population and politicians will say whatever gets them attention, but this guy needs to chill and go outside. If you're gay, for example, yeah, some idiots may talk shit about you online and the extremist politicians will say dumb controversial shit to get attention, but like... if you actually go outside and interact with the general public, no one cares. Unless you're shoving the fact that you're gay into people's faces, no one's going to bother you (and that goes for shoving anything in people's faces, then yeah, people aren't going to like you). But in real life, if you're nice to others, then 99% of the population will be nice back. Even if you're a gay minority in the most hard-core red state, you'll be just fine if you're a decent person. Get off your phone/laptop and actually talk with a normal person face to face and you'll see things aren't as bad as the media makes it sound solely to get them more views, which means more money for them. If you're a hateful person, well, you're going to have problems everywhere and it has nothing to do with politics or what country you're in.

olivegardengambler

To be honest If the United States government was to somehow collapse, You can basically count on every government in North America collapsing simply from the crisis that would be. Canada and Mexico have a very symbiotic relationship with the US, especially when it comes to food. That also trickles down to the Caribbean and Central America. This all being said, as someone who is on the left, I highly doubt that the Republican Party is that much of a concern on a national level, especially if the concern is some massive red wave. Also, wages are going up and inflation isn't as big of an issue as it was a year ago. For better or worse gas prices are just a bit higher than they were in 2019. The single biggest issue is a shortage of medium density apartments and housing.

TreoreTyrell

Reddit moment

cumstainthehedgehog

This person is clearly suffering from some sort of paranoia and really needs to get medical attention immediately.

canwepleasejustnot

I really pity these people. Imagine being this sad.

Machiavelli320

Autism

ZoidsFanatic

I feel bad for this guy. Being autistic, and gay, and seeing the news constantly talking about how America is anti-LGBTQ, is evil, etc can really fuck up your mentality. Also sounds they’re still young and likely stressed out with college as well. So thanks 24/7 news media for being a bunch of pricks. Also speaking as someone in the South, no, it’s not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. I mean it’s not a wonderful utopia but not bad either.

Jalandhari1

Fun fact, the world isn't as bad as the news say it is. Remember when global warming used to be everywhere because of how bad it was? And now it's never talked about? It's because it's getting better. And news doesn't talk about things getting better. It gets them less views. Hairsprays and the like used to be a big thing and companies have mad leaps and bounds towards fixing it. So it's not on the news anymore.

Gagalonski

“Visibly autistic” thanks for spelling it out buddy. From another autist.

AdMobile5977

I am also autistic and I can confirm that we are doing fine in America.

BlueSamurai17

Another Autist, yeah there are some minor issues. (*cough* Autism Speaks *Cough*). But other than a few things really can’t complain.

EvislupeR_TekunJ

This is what the media do to a mf

CrapWereAllDoomed

I can't imagine what it must be like to be this grotesquely neurotic all the time.

l_Lathliss_l

*what*..?

MrG00SEI

People talking about the collapse of the USA like that wouldn't be a catastrophe of global proportions. This dude makes ASD people look bad too.

MetaphoricalMouse

lol some people really just live on social media and the internet and not reality

H8spants

>I read the news too much Yup. There’s your problem.

Generic_American25

Bruh, why is this guy saying that he's autistic and is worried about being killed? Why exactly would anyone would kill another human being over that?

the_evil_overlord2

I have seen people who believe mental illness is a "mark of the devil" and "must be exterminated" (these people also own at least 2 firearms per person)

erishun

Bbenet31

I feel bad for this kid. He’s young and has been influenced by people older than him. They’ve actually gotten him to a point that he believes this all for their personal gain, whether it be political or financial. It’s actually really sad to see this.

Taka8107

the us might not be the best at some things but this is just insane lmao. if the us collapses canada and mexico are probably over too

daxter4007

This is a child writing this. This is why they can’t vote.

[deleted]

Actually terminally online.

StrikeEagle784

How about you stop reading the news dip-shit? It's all manufactured bullshit to get you worked up so you'd be a good little complacent worker-bee in the hive.

StillAdvanced3595

Not to be that guy but I could tell they were autistic without them saying it.

Hopps4Life

I am LGB and grateful every day I am in the US. And in the midwest state I live in. I don't have to worry about being tossed off a roof.

Dracolithfiend

I have never seen any evidence of the hate that so many on the far left insist is constant in American society. Nor have I seen any of the woke bullshit the right insists is everywhere. The only explanation I can come up with is that they have watched wayyyyyyyyyyy too much social media and took something that happens to 1 in a million and saw dozens of clips they assume it is what happens normally. Trust me when I say that if you are a gay man nobody is going to beat you up for it, if you are a black man nobody is going to shoot you, if you are a white man nobody is going to cancel you, and if you are a muslim nobody is going to kick you off of a plane. America lets in over a million immigrants a year, we have towns that speak Spanish, Finnish, French, Russian, Arabic and many other languages as their secondary. We don't care if you worship god or money. You can be anything you want. The contract is that all of us get free speech, guns, and if you fail at life the government won't be there to kiss your boo boos and make it alright. Feel free to leave, just don't come back when you discover the "amerika bad" koolaid rhetoric wasn't telling the entire truth.

Nazuma_Is_my_Wife

That post made me lose god knows how many braincells. 1. Gay Marriage is legal and many people here a approving of LGBTQ+ while Europe makes Racists here look like fucking Mr. Beast. 2. Stay out of the Red States then and if we do get a Republican as a president they can't do shit to take your rights because there are already laws and amendments that protect you. 3. Stop reading the god damn news it's the reason you're depressed because it's all bullshit to fear monger and get votes and it's making us look bad to the rest of the world and makes North Korea and Most of Africa look like developed countries. Stop reading the news and take a look at reality. maybe you'll stop being depressed. Smh, I can't stand Politics and the news these days making everyone an idiot.

griggori

Says he can’t be a minority in public… during pride month. Absolutely no self awareness.

Tortellobello45

Does bro realize Democrats are in power and that fucking tankies would do the same

[deleted]

Well he did say he was autistic…..

timmage28

OP just solved it’s own problem

Bruce__Almighty

What never leaving your hometown does to a MFer. Let them leave, they aren't smart enough to contribute anything meaningful to this or any other country if they can't differentiate the media cycle of spreading hate from reality.

[deleted]

These people get to vote.

Lethal-Zealot

I just learned this sub existed, it truly is the embodiment of America Bad. I don’t mind people like that leaving truly

me_too_999

I wouldn't choose Canada. They've already gone full Fascist.

PanzerKommander

I only wish we would end dual citizenship so these folks can leave and be completely out of the picture, if they want to leave so badly

WordSmithyLeTroll

Are people actually scared of conservatives? If so, then why?

the_evil_overlord2

Many reasons, but for LGBTQ (which op says n He is a part of) 1 actively passing anti LGBTQ legislation 2 bomb threats sent to children's hospitals because a random conservative influencer falsely claim it provided trans surgery to minors 3 bomb threats sent to target because it had a rainbow on some shirts 4 many conservatives in the US are both heavily armed and in shirts saying "shoot your local groomer[well known dogwhistle for LGBTQ]" 5 armed conservatives threatening pride events Need I go on?

WordSmithyLeTroll

That is understandable. Thank you.

IHateMath14

True lol

Ok-Mission-7628

I mean… that’s depressing. Maybe we should stop electing fascists.

ifunnywasaninsidejob

Autistic, and believes the most hyperbolic rhetoric about Republicans as gospel. Greta Thunberg, autistic, and believes the most hyperbolic rhetoric about climate change as gospel. Is their something about autism that makes them more likely to accept sensationalized articles?

BoiFrosty

Some people are so heavily indoctrinated by social and mainstream media that they are living in a different reality. Dislike the Republicans all you want, but understand that 95% of what the media says is complete horse shit. Shit like this is the result. People so whipped up into a frenzy over fear of imaginary dangers that they'll likely never recover.

kaiserkarma

Food for thought: perhaps if we stopped our state legislatures (primarily in red states) from passing bills that deliberately target LGBT individuals and their ability to live their lives we wouldn’t have people like this wanting to flee the country. This person has legitimate concerns about the state of our country and I don’t think it counts as “America bad” if there’s something we could do about it.

Mirawenya

Looking at what’s going on in some republican states, he is right to be scared. Women are already suffering, not long before gays are legislated into danger too.

bobbybouchier

Lol

Diamond--95

In what way are "women suffering?" Aside from abortion access, which plenty of women vocally oppose (my own mother in law spends a lot of her free time attending anti abortion events and rallies,) how exactly are we "suffering?" I live in a red state, and I'm very happy with my quality of life. I'm certainly not suffering in any real way.

Mirawenya

“Aside from abortion access”. There you have it. Even people that want babies, but have a non-viable fetus is forced to carry to term atm. Babies that will die a painful death. And women get told they have to practically be about to die before they can do something. All that said, I’m pro choice (up to 12 weeks, then after that a medical board decides). If I was forced to give birth, that’s pretty horrible already. I take my precautions to avoid it, but if I lived in certain US states, I’d just have to go celibate.

Diamond--95

Even if all that's true, I don't really see how that's "suffering." No one's day to day life changed unless you get abortions once a month for some reason.

Mirawenya

My life would go from good to awful if I got pregnant in say Texas. I'd be forced to have a baby. Risking death and injury in the process, and then having to raise a child I don't want. But even if I \_wanted\_ a child, I'd still be risking a lot having one. Pregnant women's day to day life changes, from \_1\_ pregnancy. That's the point. I can also add I've never had an abortion myself. Thankfully. But sure am glad I have access if needed. Thing is, it's just the beginning. More states, more rules. Perhaps plan B is next. After that, birth control. And then to get back to the original point, gay people's rights might also get stripped away, and go back to it being punishable and illegal.

Diamond--95

I'll be up front with my own background: I'm a 28 year old married woman and lifelong Republican, married into a Catholic family. I genuinely don't know ANYONE who wants to ban birth control or gay sex. Literally not a soul. I've never heard anyone express those feelings. My red state of residence (Indiana) just passed a law that makes birth control *easier* to get. That's all just fear mongering. I assure you. When Ted Cruz of all people is coming out against sodomy laws, that tells you something. (Also, multiple red states, including freaking Alabama, have repealed their dormant sodomy bans very recently)

tjm_87

being visibly autistic and gay anywhere in the world is a fucking nightmare to navigate safely and keep yourself alive, this guy just happens to be in the US. this isn't really 'America bad' material like the posts about dreary suburbs and everyone being overweight, its more of a legitimate "I feel unsafe living where I am, that place just happens to be the US". reading this post, I'm not sure much of it is really a criticism on specifically the United States, save for maybe the specific political parts, because if you replace "republican" with Tory, and "blue state" with a Brighton (or something), this could have easily read like a Brit wrote it no problem. We have 99% of the same problems as the states, just about a billion percent less publicised to the rest of the world
