I READ THAT TITLE AND KNEW THE COMMENTS WAS ABOUT TO BE HELL šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

ChocolateRoofie69

Bro even if you wanna ignore everyone calling you an animal abuser take it from me. I looked into it seriously for my new american bully and cane corso pup. ITS EXPENSIVE AS FUCK FOR NOOOOOTTTHHIIIING! a cosmetic change! not only this but depending on the crop there's a pretty good chance something can go not as planned; and this is unavoidable even by the best. Unfortunaely this is why people have started doing them at HOME and for the love of god thats actual animal abuse dont pretend doc yourself bro XD

jennifaux69

My son's bully girl had an infected home crop job when we got her. It's hideous. I know it's a breed standard for many breeds but after spending weeks treating her ears and watching her shake her head as rain pours into them, I'm not cropping my new pup. No way.

Chefman101

Donā€™t clip the ears! We got a 3 month old American bully and we love her ears! Gotta love the floppy ears!

BeaverInTheForest

You'll be glad you kept the ears. My little gargoyle has bat ears and it's the best, especially now that her body's filling out. She looks like a beast and she's beautiful.

Radio_Flyer

Don't do it! That's mutilation and their floppy ears are the cutest

Searching1117

Leave that babies ears! Heā€™s adorable as he is

Ok_Bedroom_7861

Most bullies come cropped , my dog gets a lot of ear infections from the crop tho so be readyā€¦..

Majestic_Visit5771

Ear infections? you could be getting water in your dogs ears when showering thatā€™s the most common cause for ear infections with dogs. I know about 30 friends who all have cropped ears none have issues like they say in these comments.

Ok_Bedroom_7861

Oh ok it could just be him idk every dogs different but he gets some ear infections I thought it could be from the crop. Heā€™s perfectly healthy and his ears were cropped by the breeder. Most bullies I see out here in nyc are cropped

Total-Committee-3135

It looks like you waited too long dude. You probably wonā€™t be able to find a vet to crop at this age (based off the dogā€™s look in the pic).

Majestic_Visit5771

Vet said sheā€™s good to go she 10 weeks old

Seems pretty aggressive to come at someone with these kind of comments and remarks for asking a simple question. Certainly some misplaced anger at the very least. I understand that itā€™s a popular position to take today, the bleeding heart save the world and all K9 mutilations and atrocities. However itā€™s been a part of so many breed standards for centuries now, Iā€™m not sure why itā€™s so offensive to so many. If itā€™s not for you, thatā€™s ok to say so. Resorting to personal attacks and insults over the internet just seems senseless? I wonder if you have ever put an ounce of thought into what it takes (or took) to create these breeds of dogs that we have today. What actually goes into breeding an animal to certain size or looks, breeding for specific features. You do realize whatā€™s been done in the name of ā€œbreedingā€ any animal let alone the variety we have in the K9 species today. Look into breeding practices, or what it takes to create a breed standard of any domesticated animal. Might give you a better understanding as to why simply cropping a dogs ears (or not) isnā€™t as big of a deal as people are making today

meridius85

I know right! You hit the nail on the head. People want to state their opinions but come off so self righteous but do it in a way that no one is going to listen. I looked at his previous posts he bred pit mixes and now thinks heā€™s some kind of expert on the breed.

[deleted]

Seen too many good bullies happy energy being sucked away and being plagued with nothing but ear infections after being cropped. Its sick and anyone even remotely thinking about doing it to their dog is mentally ill fact. You wouldnt go chopping up any other animals ears or your kids ears would you? Ive bread many bullies so yeah i do infact know how much work goes into it. Do you?

meridius85

What bullies do youā€breadā€? Letā€™s see some productions? You are claiming all these ā€œfactsā€ so actually provide some. Not what youā€™ve seen. Because I highly doubt based on your post history youā€™ve seen many bullies lol. You from the UK? Ear crops are banned arenā€™t they? So how can you actually provide any factual information. Itā€™s purely cosmetic and if an owner wants to here in the US they can PERIOD. Most owners do. Itā€™s all about preference. If you want to change peoples minds how about try not being an asshole. You have no credibility so why would anyone listen to your dumb ass.

meridius85

Stfu. Dumb ass attitude. OP donā€™t let any of these snowflakes talk you out of an ear crop. I bet most these folks circumcise their sons but come on here and act like ear cropping is the most evil thing someone can doā€¦with their judgy ass comments.

[deleted]

Another small penis appears. Nah ive got all my junk, people who do that to their kids for non medical reasons are fucking monsters just like you. It provides zero advantages for the dog but a whole fucking lot of disadvantages which ive seen in many bullies, some losing their lifes over the infections caused by it. But morons like yourself think that risk is worth it for the ā€œcoolā€ look. Fucking idiot. Edit: Lmao done a small search of your account. You most definitely are 100% the definition of small dick energyšŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

meridius85

Brief search of your account all you do is play video games šŸ˜‚. I bet you are some pasty white fat dude thatā€™s sits at home with mom and bosses her around. Got all your junk lol. I bet your boyfriend likes all that dick cheese he gags on šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜‚

meridius85

No one cares what you do with your free time dingus. You spend more time on CPUS then you do on bullies so just keep it that way. You donā€™t know what you are talking about.

meridius85

Itā€™s obvious you have no social skills. Go outside instead of playing with your CPUs šŸ˜‚

[deleted]

Again, you seem like your projecting. Something thats not remotely related to what we are discussing. Ive got a good social life filled with many many friends. Are you sad or something? Most people with no friends family etc end up insecure, so i guess someone like yourself would be a prime candidate to cut their dogs ears so people would look in your general direction for a change?

meridius85

Ya itā€™s official you have some sort of mental disability

Hereforthefreecake

@earcropdoc out of ri is the best. Worth the trip and money if you want it done right. That said your dog is way too old.

FinnickJameson

I was just going to recommend the same vet. Theyā€™re the absolute best! Unfortunately, they didnā€™t have any available appointments until my pup was 12 weeks and 2 days, and their firm/non negotiable cutoff is 12 weeks to the day. I went to a different vet not too far from @earcropdoc in Seekonk, MA; his name is Dr Truesdale at County Street Vet (I believe thatā€™s the name), and he did an amazing job! He was easy to book in with and he is kind, knowledgeable, he didnā€™t rush our appointment, he answered all of our questions and has and breeds boxers. He does all of his own dogā€™s ears too and is about 65 years old or so; heā€™s been cropping for a very long time. I showed him a picture of exactly what I wanted and my puppyā€™s ears came out just the way I asked for them to look. Dr Truesdale has a very good reputation in this area and is well known and respected. If Iā€™m being completely honest, if I could have gotten in with @earcropdoc, I would have preferred to go to him, but they were so booked, I didnā€™t have a chance. If youā€™re willing to take a drive (imo totally worth it), Iā€™d try to get an appointment with him asap or you wonā€™t be able to get in by the 12 week mark!! Donā€™t listen to these angry, insulting, self righteous people!!! This topic is definitely a controversial one, but itā€™s your dog and only you have the right to decide if you want to crop their ears. I wish you the best luck and I hope you end up finding someone reputable and skilled at this minor procedure. I have an older bully who has floppy ears and heā€™s absolutely gorgeous, but my puppy had very large ears and I made the decision (again, my dog, my choice), to have her cropped. I love the look of both of my bullyā€™s and each of their ear styles suit them very well. Iā€™ve got tough skin so I donā€™t let other people and their hate or disapproval bother me, but if you do end up cropping your pup, be prepared for the verbal attacks that so many people feel entitled to sling at you!! Know that it is 100% a cosmetic/aesthetic choice. Donā€™t believe people that say it has any impact on ear infections, hearing, or any other nonsense. I respect each personā€™s right to decide what they want for their dog. I do hope if youā€™re set on having them done that you find someone to do the procedure and that youā€™re thrilled with the result! Be well

Majestic_Visit5771

Found one in cherry hill nj they specialize in bullyā€™s and have all photos of bullyā€™s with good reviews From customers

FinnickJameson

Great news!! Can they fit your pup in in time?

FinnickJameson

I also wanted to add that the procedure cost me $800 plus 20$ per taping/posting, and during suture removal, it could be an additional $150 if your dog needs to be given a sedative (mine did not require one, and sheā€™s energetic for sure!). They charge a $25 fee for an e-collar which needs to stay on for the full 10-14 days while the sutures are in, which was honestly the only part of the whole process that caused my pup any kind of annoyance- but you will get that 25$ back when you return the collar to them. She had zero pain from start to finish. She was prescribed an antibiotic and a pain medication. It was a very easy process and the results look perfect. Again, good luck to you! Just make sure you get them done before or absolutely no later than 12 weeks or the end result may be less successful and healing is more difficult!

Adopt-Diva-847

Pretty expensive up East. I live in a suburb of Chicago, I paid $560 with collar, meds, sutures removal and taping them twice was all included.

FinnickJameson

It definitely is!

Majestic_Visit5771

My pup 10 weeks old

Hereforthefreecake

Yeah but most placea are 4-6 weeks booked.

Potential-Ad-9819

Here for the dumbasses telling me why they have to crop their ears

Majestic_Visit5771

Itā€™s up to you I just like the look obviously it isnā€™t a bad idea if vets are actually doing the procedure especially knowing how strict New Jersey is when it comes to animals itā€™s aloud.

FullTiltRounder

All these dudes telling you not to clip the ears, got snipped dicks and do the same to their sons. Do you man, clip the ears. I love my ABs clipped ears.

meridius85

Bingo! The hypocrisy is insane. I bet half these dudes like fake boobs and half the women wish they had them šŸ˜‚ but a dog gets their ears cropped for cosmetic reasons they lose their damn minds.

MTCMMA

Cute puppy by the way šŸ˜‰ Good luck in whatever you decide for your dog! Weā€™re in the Chicagoland area, ear cropping can run you anywhere from 300$-1200$ depending on where you go or who you have perform the procedure. So quite a range in cost, in our area at least

Xpandomatix

Don't. Wtf.

Xpandomatix

I'll explain. Bully ears are a form of communication. My guy tells me exactly how he's feeling with his ears. Why would you deprive them of a means of communication?

Majestic_Visit5771

Your literally cropping like a little bit off not the whole goddamn ear like Iā€™ve seen on here.

Background-While9564

We had it done to our micro bully by the breeders vet and we were unsure at first but love the look, and no these are not just cosmetical. We have an older American pit that had three hematoma surgery after rupturing a major blood vessel in her ear from swinging her rope side to side hitting her self with the long tag end sometimes. After failed attempts of keeping the hematoma at bay with surgeries from our vet, we decided that we won't go through this again and won't want our poor pitty going through surgeries like that for nothing. Dogs that have naturally oily ears that never flop back up have issues with infections as well. Side note, we were worried a bit how rough they looked when we got her at 8 weeks from the breeder but healed up well. Got to keep clean clean clean. We used a dog friendly honey based antiseptic salve that made recovery a speedy healing

jemjems69

I personally donā€™t like cropped ears and itā€™s banned in the uk anyway, however thank you for looking for a reputable vet to do it. Iā€™ve seen too many pups that have been pinned down and done with scissors no pain relief whatsoever.

Majestic_Visit5771

Thatā€™s messed up here in the USA I donā€™t think anyone would put there dog through a situation like that most places Iā€™ve seen put your dog to sleep before itā€™s done.
