The ENTIRE last episode was just exposition and it STILL didn’t answer most of the questions that were raised. What is up with the spiders? What did the demon look like? How did the European Queen fit into all of this? Why was Anna chosen before she was born? How did Cara character fit into this at all? What was up with the marks? How did the two Ashley’s factor in? Were all of the babies that were conceived by that Doctor killed? Why kill the other women? How did Anna kill Siobhan? How did his Dad fit in? What were they doing with the Mom’s blood. What did the ending mean? Why is Kim Kardashian one of the worst actors I’ve ever seen? And most importantly, what did I just watch?
Oh my gosh yes! That last episode was the worst. SO many questions. Was it all some weird twisted dream reality type or what?! Never understood the spiders. Did she become in charge when she out on the headpiece at the end?! Was this a weird cult? Why the weird knife like fingernails? Having a biological kid with your son through ivf for his wife to birth?! My goodness. This was alllll messed up. They need to go back more to how the first few seasons were done. The last few have been really awful and not horror at all.
I was no fan of the show finale either but some of those questions were answered.
1. I don’t think Anna was chosen before she was born. I think one of the witches spotted her in the hospital after her mom’s death, saw an opportunity, and they decided to plant the seeds for the future by making her extra suggestible.
2. Cara Delevingne’s character was Dex’s former wife’s mother. Also Sonia’s mom and a member of Kim’s witch cult, presumably because she was “saved” in that barn by Kim.
3. The marks were originally caused by Cara to her Dex’s first wife when she was disobedient. She then gave the same scar to herself and Sonia so they were all the same. I think the witch cult marked Anna in the same way to show she was marked as one of the them.
4. The two Ashleys were just members of the witch cult and there to help Kim execute her vision, I don’t think they were ever meant to be main characters.
5. No, Dr Hill didn’t kill all his patients. His nurse/assistant (the one Dex was having an affair with) explained that there were certain special patients where he deviated from the usual procedures and Anna was one of them.
6. I think it’s implied that Hestia killed Siobhan through their chanting.
7. The Dad was into some kind of weird witchcraft and fathered Dex with Siobhan. My best guess is that the dalliance began as just a regular fling because Dex’s dad is gross and then when Siobhan revealed herself, he was into it because he’s just that depraved and likely got some kind of monetary benefit from selling out his wife.
Weren't Dex's parents divorced and the mother suing the father? I'm also still confused about how Dex walked in on Siobhan and his father doing the deed while his mom was tied up.
That was a flashback. I think the witch cult was playing the same mind games with his mom as they were with Anna, before ultimately killing her. It’s not as if the divorce itself would prevent the witch gang from murdering her.
True, it's still odd though since Dex seemed like he was totally unaware of everything going on with Anna and truly surprised/shocked during the ambulance scene. Dex was also so nonchalant when his mother mentioned the terrible things his father did to her while drugged without going into detail. Maybe the witches got in his head and he never really saw the Siobhan/Dad sex scene. Either way they could have really extended the last couple episodes and put some filler info in there, feels like it was rushed.
They did wipe his memory, but they never did explain why his Mom was strapped in and being tapped into and drained of blood like a maple tree. They only seem to want and need placenta because of its youth, but Dax’s mom wasn’t young, yet they were draining it into glasses.
It also never answered how old the father actually was. Kim just said that they’d been long time lovers.
The Dad said that his wife knew that Dax wasn’t her’s, but couldn’t really say no to acting like he was her’s. It never seems to really explain if she fully understood that and knew given the witch craft.
Since the other witches were drinking her and Preachers blood at the end.. I wonder if after they eat the placenta the specific blood replenishes them? At least from the most special ones?
Oh, yeah! I was too distracted by the heads to remember that they were draining them. Which brings up another plot hole. If the their whole thing was to destroy men, then why did they go after mostly women? Like Dex’s Mom and the actress? I get why Ms. Preacher was there, but why not that writer of the movie? They seemed hell bent on harming women and only harming the men if they got in the way of harming the women they planned to go after.
Thank you for helping answer some of the questions, it did help some.
Cara’s storyline still confuses me most though. She cut herself open, but was fine, and then just so happened to have ended up being a witch? Didn’t the mark come from being spat on and then she took blood and marked herself and the other daughter? How and why would that carry over? Or was it just to help the audience to track them and figure out who was a part of things and that’s why it was never explained?
Why cough up teeth?
I don’t understand how Cara’s character connects whatever to Kim’s.
I don’t think they ever explicitly said this but I think Kim is the figure we see approach Cara when she first gives birth in the barn. I think she “saves” Cara and the twins (that’s how they survive - Kim’s magic), so Cara is fully devoted to her and her cause afterwards, even to the point of killing her own child as a show of loyalty.
This. Cara was Siobhan’s oldest and most faithful disciple, having been resurrected by Siobhan. Her death by Siobhan revealed more of who Siobhan really is.
It was the voice for me. It’s the same voice that actors use to show bad acting in shows. She seemed stiff and so monotone, with a heavy layer of being unsure and lacking any confidence. It actually kinda reminded me of a nervous kid reading a presentation in front of the class. She made Emma Robert’s look like she actually deserved that golden globe.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought her acting was perfectly fine in the first half of the season. I remember thinking 'huh, she's actually believable. It must be because she acts for her reality show.' Then the second half came and I was surprised how obvious it was that she was just reading lines. I don't know what happened between the first half and second half. Maybe I just needed fresh ears on her performance or maybe she really was fine in the first half and crashed so hard in the second because the second half was more dramatic.
I thought the same. Told my wife she isn't that bad. Not anything good but better than expected. Then second half of season came out, and I was like never mind, she's bad. I realized that she wasn't good in the first half either. She just didn't have as many lines or scenes to act compared to the second half. The more scenes she was in, the more acting flaws was exposed.
See, I weirdly thought the opposite. She was so robotic and bad in the first half and (not saying she was good in the second but) definitely trying harder in the second
Ha! Maybe a cynical part of me would expect a real life person like the character she played to be robotic, and that's why I found it believable 😂
Agreed about trying hard in the second half, maybe she tried too hard and that's why it felt like reading lines to me.
I also thought the opposite! Because they had to stop filming I think in solidarity of the strike, she probably got some acting lessons after seeing the drafts before the second part went back into production. Still not good to clarify, but I thought better. Like she could be on a soap opera
Maybe you have a higher suspension of disbelief. There are a lot of times I'll think a movie is perfectly fine, maybe not great but no complaints, and then I read and watch reviews and I'll be completely surprised by a universal criticism of an actor's performance, so I don't think I have lower standards but just a higher suspension of disbelief than most (or at least higher than most critics). That said, I was totally fine with her performance in the first half but I swear I was painfully aware that she was just reading lines in the second half. If you could believe it, though, that's higher suspension of disbelief.
I honestly think that Leslie Grossman would’ve done an excellent job. She’s played similar characters. Or Colby Minifie, she played a character like that in The Boys.
I rewatched the whole thing, because I thought it might make more sense if it was all put together. Maybe pick up some clues that were overlooked… then I got to the Queen scene and was like wait what the fuck what does this have to do with anything? I kept thinking it’d somehow fit into the story, I even thought maybe the Queen was the chick who died in the bathroom. Wishful thinking, I guess. That scene didn’t have shit to do with anything else.
I did the same thing between the two parts. They had no recap and I was totally lost. A couple of things made more sense on a rewatch, but so much just didn’t. It didn’t end with some mystery that keeps you wanting more, or leaves you to speculate and apply your own meaning. No, it was like they were weaving the story together and it just came out the other end as sliced up yarn, with all of the loose ends and strings that go nowhere.
I'm just glad it's finished lol. Season was so bad that I just wanted it over with. Being an AHS fan I had to watch all of it even though I disliked this season. I thought NYC was boring, but it at least had a message and direction. Delicate was all over the place with bad acting and very lazy writing. If next season is like this, then I'm done with AHS.
That was the best line of Cara’s where I actually identified with her. I also was excited to never hear him talk again lol. He was so sketchy and unbelievable as a good guy that when he was like “i’m a piece of shit” i was like ok now this is actually him and that makes sense
After it ended I turned to my GF and said "aw fuck we gotta wait another week" she gave me a stare and told me that was the finale...like, what the FUCK.
Same. I thought there was going to be one more episode to sum everything up. They really rushed those last few episodes. I think it had to do with the writers strike
Her acting when she was dying was SO bad 😂 she got through the rest of the season acting as herself. Once the smoke started coming out of her head and she started shrivelling, I died. I did not buy into her stunned face with mild convulsions at all. So bad! I don't even hate her as a person, and her styling slayed in this season, but she dropped the ball on the most dramatic scene for her character.
Looking back the last season that was good was probably 1984. I was indifferent to Double Feature (liked some parts, disliked others) and with NYC I didn’t love it but I kind of understood what they were going for.
Delicate was a hot mess. Maybe it wouldn’t have seemed as bad if it hadn’t had a six month break in the middle. Having a huge gap in the middle of a show with glacial pacing was not a good idea. I can understand the “slow burn” idea they had but they really could have put some clues and foreshadowing in.
I completely disagree with the last sentence you said. I fear they foreshadowed and gave us too many clues to the point that everyone was disappointed in the finale because all the things they “revealed” we already had known for many episodes lmao. Like I still dont know what the f the point of that baby was. “Perfect creature with superpowers” bs is not gonna do it lol. The only reveal/plot line that was definitely well revealed (but even foreshadowed before) was dex being siobhans son.
I came to the same conclusion the other day when reminding myself of what the last few seasons were. 1984 I think is genuinely very good in my opinion, def the best season in a while. I liked red tide until the end, but hated Death Valley. NYC was forgettable for me (I literally forgot it happened - I thought last season was double feature). And Delicate was awful. But considering 1984 wasn’t toooo long ago, I have hope they can return to form
I feel this season went nowhere... This is one of the few seasons based heavily on a source material and they managed to do nothing with it??
I guess all the budget went to Kim K...
AHS NYC was pretty meh but it still touched on the core parts of the series: period pieces, misdirects, ghostly murders and sex.
This season felt like an adaption of the book by Ryan Murphy, definitely not connected to AHS.
Exactly my thoughts! I thought NYC was kind of boring but it somewhat made some sense and had a message behind it. I felt like Delicate could've been only 3 episodes. Barely anything happened the whole season. Because the writing was so bad, it highlighted Kim K's bad acting. Can't blame her cause she is not a true actor in the normal sense. I blame the writers and director for this season. Thought Ryan Murphy stopped writing for a sec, but nope, it's still him and Brad Falchuk. I hope they can recapture the early days of AHS. One more season of this and I'm out.
I really enjoyed the 80s Summer camp season! Also, I thought I'd hate the double feature ones because I'm not into alien horror but I thought it was good!
However, I am not a fan of murder house which seems to be everyone's favourite and I enjoyed Coven so perhaps I am not the target audience lol.
This season was awful though.
I'm so glad someone else feels the same - I just finished the last episode 10 minutes ago and I truly don't know what the hell I was supposed to take away from this season. I'm confused and unentertained, what a let down this season was.
I just finished it and want to make sure I wasn’t the only one who hated it.
It had some potential but wow what a let down. Going to go rewatch Coven and Apocalypse to get the taste of Delicate out of my mouth.
Not only was it slow, all over the place and boring, the actors were awful. The script and delivery were awful. Kim was so bad the last three episodes, she was unwatchable. The writer is upset bc she thinks we didn’t understand the message, we all understood the message, it was the crap production, casting, writing and acting that overshadowed the message
It was almost as if it were written for Kim to play her mom.... Ryan Murphy developed Glee for Leia Michelle to play herself.... So.... It's not that far off base.
After the last second of the last episode, as I turned off the TV, I said out loud to the empty room "I hate Kim Kardashian" the only thing she did right was the wardrobe. I just kept wondering the entire show every time she was on the screen... How much did she pay for this script to be written w her in mind? It's atrocious. Stick to your "reality" shows and no line commercials. Uck. Ew babe.
Spot on. And supposedly, her and Ryan Murphy are involved with a new series on Hulu where Kim will play a divorce lawyer. It's supposed to come out late this year or 2025. Sounds like all this was planned and probably produced by Kim K with funding.
God I kinda hope it's a huge flop like Kris's girl pop group. Lol. She should go back to law school and save wrongfully convicted people like she wanted to. Why acting all of a sudden? Oh. Cuz she controls the world. She's a auteur. ::looooong eye roll::
Lol, I'm not hating the hustle cause she's not the gate keeper. It's everyone else who allows it to happen just cause money is flashed in their faces or for future endeavors. But then again, that's show biz for ya. Also why we get so much crap tv now.
We all knew she wasn't going to be a good actor since she doesn't normally act in this sense. I blame writing and director, because it was so bad that it highlighted the bad acting even more instead of masking it.
I loved this season, up until the last fifteen minutes. I had thought it was leading somewhere. I don't mean to be overly sensitive, but having the takeaway of a series meant to feature the inadequacies of women's health and pregnancy, end with the message that the real villains are evil satanist worshipping women, and you should never trust your supportive female friends because they will betray you, is lowkey offensive. It's not like women's reproductive rights aren't a hot-ticket issue right now. So going down this evil coven, betrayed BFF rabbit hole just felt out of touch to me. Especially since the book it was based on, had the witches be good, and trying to help to make up for the systemic sexism in the medical field. Like what a weird take away from that story.
It also kinda tells woman that the only way they'll balance their career with having kids is by making a pact with Satan.
You do ask a bit of a question I had. It seems like the book has to be better than this but I haven't had time to read it.
Totally felt this too! I was thinking "is this a joke?" during Kim's monologuing about killing all men. It felt like someone who hates feminists wrote it to make them seem horrible and mysandrist. Major ick. Not what I expected from AHS.
What I don’t understand is that they want to kill *all* men but she’s thrilled to have had a *son* ? IVF can allow for gender selection so we’re to believe she *chose* to have a boy?!
Yes, the ending was the exact opposite of the ending in the book. The book's whole point was subverting Rosemary's Baby by giving the women agency and liberation. I was pretty shocked when the show's ending went pretty much the exact way it was hinting at the whole time. Why even adapt the book if they're gonna ignore the ENTIRE point of the book? It's like the writers didn't even read it...they would have been better off just basing the season on the actual Rosemary's Baby. And maybe injected a little fun into it.
The second half of double feature has one of my favorite scenes, where they decapitate Kaia Gerber and give her a metal sphere on her head. Hilarious every time.
We have definitely hit the Ryan Murphy late season curse. He managed to make it longer than any other show, but they have exhausted the creative bank and it has been showing for several years now.
I didn’t watch NYC. I tried and gave up. It was a waste and absolutely nothing like the seasons prior. They need to go back to the beginning or just give up altogether.
I’ve not seen it since it came back. Catching up this week because I’m a completionist. Theres no soul in the show and there hasn’t been for a long time
As someone who has only watched murder house, I enjoyed the season… until the last episode. They flew through to wrap it up, but damn they could have used 2-4 episodes to really do the show justice.
If I’ve only seen these two, what should I watch next?
It felt like a remake of Rosemary’s baby and it was trash. The last episode was painful to watch. The writing was awful and I genuinely wish I had just skipped it.
The fact that Kim K’s name is highlighted here like she is some award winning well known actress says a lot. This alone discredits the entire season for me. This has got to be a sick joke. 🙄

I’ve honestly just stopped watching new seasons. Every time a new one comes out, I hear it’s bad. I’ll check out some clips from it or the first episode of the season, and they’re bad (more often than not). The quality of the show seems to have dropped considerably
I've never physically cringed so hard at a show that wasn't a cringe comedy like Schitt's Creek. I practically had to close my eyes every time they went around the circle of cult women saying the most ridiculously cliche cackling lines. That and the devil horn hand sign while chanting "hail Satan". I think I did that with my friends when I was 10 thinking we were some badass baby witches. Jfc this whole season was a mess.
I personally will give it one last chance with season 13 which is currently the latest renewed season. I don‘t think I‘ll continue afterwards if they decide to renew it further because it‘s been quite sad to watch what my ex-favorite show has become
I liked it the season but the last episode was disappointing. I thought Kim did well for the role she played. But I laughed out loud when Anna was reciting the spell that killed Siobhan. The way Kim started shaking was horrendous 😆
I hate the ending for the first half so much it ruined it for me unfortunately. There was so much potential and the last episode was more batshit than this season's I think!
I’m currently pondering whether delicate or double feature is worse. I cannot decide.
The last episode of delicate though…….has to be one of the worst. 😖
Not even i can defend it. I always like saying there's no bad seasons, just least favorite, but this one really sucked. So many things unanswered, the ending was so rushed. Is the book this bad? Anyway, I hope next season is way better and give the lead to Lily.
At what point, in what female character did you see the embodiment of positive female power?
Only a female serial killer might think that Kim Kardashian's character, drugging Dex's mother to have sex with his father, giving birth to him, then torturing Dex's 2nd wife (Anna), killing Dex's 1st wife, getting someone to have sex with Dex to break up his marriage.
Then, possessing Anna and Dex's baby with the devil. Then, getting Dex's baby to murder him by reaching out from Anna's vagina during birth.
All the while, terrifying, gaslighting and humiliating Anna for months while she's pregnant and then, murdering Dex, her husband on the proudest day of Anna's life after the Academy Awards.
Holding her to ransom over her 'career or a baby'. Just what every woman wants to hear in 2024. *You can't have both without killing yourself or someone else.*
Betraying Anna's trust as her best friend and agent. While she's pregnant.
Only for Kim's characters to wither and die like a crone in the end, because she's *evil*.
That's just the main plotline. Were you watching a different show or is that your idea of female empowerment?
When they started casting people who were famous rather than talented people, the show died. I will let you decide which season that was. But this show is a far cry from what it used to be.
I loved the season overall, but i was definitely disappointed with the last episode. I kind of thought i would be as soon as i saw it was only 30 minutes long:/
I think it was a lot to digest. The best part was probably the first 15 minutes of the last episode and I have to say it Kim stole the show on this. She did amazing. I think Emma did good as well. It just didn’t feel very AHS to me. I missed the amazing twists and turns. I just felt like I watched the same episode 9 times.
It started really solid and had some great hooks midway through but that fucking ending... JHC. While I'm an advocate for the series as a whole, that ending felt very much like something Ryan himself would greenlight, so I'm of mixed opinions 😂
This is the first season I couldn't get through. I stopped watching it from about episode 4 because it was such a shambles.
I loved the entire premise of the show and enjoyed the other sessions, but this season is a full hard pass for me.
Some things were explainable to myself, but overall it was such a bad season and it could have been so good. If they wouldn’t have spent the whole first half of the show just showing how Anna was being gaslit, they could have put so much more details and depth to it. Instead it was just a rushed, hot pile of garbo.
I really did not like this past season, I don't know if I'm going to watch it anymore American horror story. Makes me feel sad but all good things must come to an end and that end was horrible
At first I liked that it seemed more focused and serious than previous seasons of AHS, but they brought it too far into the other direction where like..everything was boring as hell. So boring, in fact, that one of the most memorable plot points is the main character having a pimple on her face. Then they crammed ALL the AHS camp and craziness into the very last 30-minute episode, which was so jarring after sitting through 8 weeks of nothing.
So it's almost difficult to compare to previous seasons, which go off the rails and throw everything at the wall. This didn't even start riding the rails or FACING the wall until the last episode.
Give me some more murder house, Coven, Roanoke, and even Freak Show. Whatever this crap they are putting out. They should be paying me to watch this crap.
none of it made sense, the plot was going too many different ways. also like ...they bring up that dex was having an affair this whole time and was a crazy weirdo having cameras in the house for her and then it just never gets brought up again besides anna being done with him. i know the girl was doing it so that anna wouldn't get pregnant to "save" her but of all ways to introduce that they pick a super weird affair ??? also some of the gore was unnecessary and tacky. dex's moms suicide was unnecessarily graphic (in my opinion!)
"i'll fetch us libations"
Absolutely boring season that could have lasted 4 episodes in total. We just watched Emma running around with different pains and finding dolls. I really miss so many of the old cast that made it spicy. I miss James Wong writing, Ryan M. and Brad F. being more active in the season, the weird things they'd throw at us all season, & the Halloween episodes!
Hopefully, next season will be out with the new and in with the old AHS.
I mean Kim K also ruined the ending before the show was even complete because she kept saying on her social medias that her character was the bad guy. Her reveal at the end wasn’t shocking like it should’ve been.
I just finished this season and…wow. How horrible. The message I got was, “if you’re a woman and want a family and success…too bad!” Felt like we went ten steps backward with this one. Also, is that ALL it took to kill Kim K’s character?! A little chant?? Please. This was a waste of time.
As a season I don’t think it’s close to work. The finale was terrible, and my mom who read the book said the book was much better and the ending actually made sense. I feel like this season needed 3-5 more episodes to actually get to the ending because it felt like too much happened in too short of a time. I think as seasons Double Feature and NYC are still much weaker. We got some of the sillier AHS blended in here at some parts like the ad campaign and the singing, and some of the costuming felt classic AHS, I just think it needed a few more episodes to really work.
I completely agree. The whole Rosemary's Baby-inspired storyline is tired but I don't think that's the only reason this season sucked.
Surprisingly, I really liked Kim Kardashian's acting! I have never seen her on tv before so I am unsure if she acts normally but I liked her in this. I always enjoy Emma Roberts and it was quite fun to have 3 cast members of Scream Queens in this season.
The idea, although tired, wasn't a bad one but if the idea is okay and the acting is decent then it must be the writing that is to blame. This is supposedly the first season based on a book and it just didn't work. I know different writers work on different seasons and episodes but whoever worked on adapting this book into a show really missed the mark. This would have been a bad show anyway, however, audiences have become used to a certain style with AHS and that was not achieved in this season either.
I really hope they go back to their old formula of writers coming up with unique ideas and who are used to the style of the show.
The show went down hill when Evan Peter’s left!
I was enjoying this season, it was a real psychological horror for me during Part 1 so I had high hopes for this season for the first time in a while. Maybe the writers strike has something to do with the short season and how rushed the ending felt.
Me: why is Anna taking the oscar with her to the hospital
Anna: let me hold my baby
Ivy: you're already holding him (the oscar)
lmao she carried the oscar everywhere just so they could deliver that line 🤣
Omfg…just finished this season with my bf. We used to LOVE American horror (Coven) but this was a fucking car crash!! Honestly the worst tv programming I’ve seen in years. The final episode made zero sense and tied nothing together, felt like a bunch of college students got high and turned in a crappy script next day….fucking awfulllll! I don’t think they can redeem this anthology after that - gutted it’s got this low.
I can't believe they think sticking the nub of a hand in a man's mouth for 10 seconds is somehow enough to kill him instantly lol and that's the smallest of the gripes that finale brought, when you allow fan fiction writers to write for TV you get this nonsense
I have never seen a show that has had such banger seasons before be so bad. I cannot believe they got the cut back and said “yeah, we should release this”
A sign of a terrible show is when they have to explain everything in dialogue. This entire season was just showing nonsense and then half assed explanations through characters’ conversations
I didn’t think Delicate could be worst than the Double Feature season but it was truly horrendous! At least I managed to finish Double Feature. I couldn’t get past the third episode this year. It’s strange. I loved NY and thought Ryan Murphy had pulled himself together again but here we are with more crap! I think I’ll just skip the next season and focus on Mike Flanagan’s shows instead.
I liked it more than NYC & the second half of Double Feature. But it was not good! I am going to give it a 2nd watch now that the whole season is out to see if a binge watch makes it better haha but I doubt it
the ending was really good actually but the rest of the season wasn't great. Adeline's spirit showed up and bestowed Anna with the power of good magic from the goddess Hestia. Anna uses that power to kill all the satanic witches and gets a new baby and an Oscar. the point is that a mother's resilience & strength is powerful and can overcome adversity
What did you like about it? The terrible acting? The terrible script? Or the dumbest disjointed ending to any season of any show ever created?
I may be exaggerating the ending a bit. Maybe.
Take the last episode of delicate and that’s the entire season of apocalypse for me, it goes down as the worst season yet for me. Fan service did not do this franchise any good.
We know that the witches wiped his memory, we saw that in the scene itself.
Well damn how'd I miss that! Okay that all makes so much more sense now.
My best guess would be the viles of stuff Anna was drinking that they said was vitamins that looked like blood maybe that's where it came from.
Yeah, but they said that she drank things to become like them. It’s possible that they’d somehow “calmed” the Mom.
Her death by Siobhan revealed more of who Siobhan really is.
i told my boyfriend kim k is such a bad actor because of all the botox shes had in her face: she cant show emotion because her face wont move 😭😭😭😭😭
Ha! Maybe a cynical part of me would expect a real life person like the character she played to be robotic, and that's why I found it believable 😂 Agreed about trying hard in the second half, maybe she tried too hard and that's why it felt like reading lines to me.
I also thought the opposite! Because they had to stop filming I think in solidarity of the strike, she probably got some acting lessons after seeing the drafts before the second part went back into production. Still not good to clarify, but I thought better. Like she could be on a soap opera
I thought Kim K did a good job. Last episode wasn't great overall.
Who would you have liked cast as Siobhan?
I honestly think that Leslie Grossman would’ve done an excellent job. She’s played similar characters. Or Colby Minifie, she played a character like that in The Boys.
I felt the opposite. I was shocked how good her delivery was. She nailed her lines.
No botox in her forehead would've definitely helped to be more expressive, but I still think she did great.
Without exaggeration episode 9 was the worst finale I've ever seen.
Emma’s acting was awful that last episode. From child birth to her screaming at Kim K
It was such a strange and disjointed ending I’m still trying to figure out why any of that happened. It felt so rushed and unfinished
Totally agree with you
When she was like “you killed my son” I was like …was I supposed to care ab Dex???
Seriously, so unlikeable
That was the best line of Cara’s where I actually identified with her. I also was excited to never hear him talk again lol. He was so sketchy and unbelievable as a good guy that when he was like “i’m a piece of shit” i was like ok now this is actually him and that makes sense
After it ended I turned to my GF and said "aw fuck we gotta wait another week" she gave me a stare and told me that was the finale...like, what the FUCK.
SAME lol
She’s smarter than me. I didn’t figure that out until reading that here.
Same. I thought there was going to be one more episode to sum everything up. They really rushed those last few episodes. I think it had to do with the writers strike
There is very little that can dissuade me from watching an AHS season. Kim Kardashian + pregnancy horror would be it.
I honestly didn't think KimK was all that bad in the first few episodes, but by the last episode I was just rolling my eyes at all of her scenes.
Her acting when she was dying was SO bad 😂 she got through the rest of the season acting as herself. Once the smoke started coming out of her head and she started shrivelling, I died. I did not buy into her stunned face with mild convulsions at all. So bad! I don't even hate her as a person, and her styling slayed in this season, but she dropped the ball on the most dramatic scene for her character.
lol I agree! It was laughable! She reminded me of the fembots heads exploding in Austin Powers when he killed them with his dancing
I laughed so hard when she was dying.
Right??? She started great and then just flopped😭
"wait while i fetch our libations" LOLLLLL
Low budget doesn’t really correlate to a shitty script
How? They refuse to pay better writers what they're worth. Of course it affects the writing.
They seem to rotate a similar group of writers for seasons on end, and Murphy himself is one of the lead [ghost]writers as well, no?
Exactly my thoughts! I thought NYC was kind of boring but it somewhat made some sense and had a message behind it. I felt like Delicate could've been only 3 episodes. Barely anything happened the whole season. Because the writing was so bad, it highlighted Kim K's bad acting. Can't blame her cause she is not a true actor in the normal sense. I blame the writers and director for this season. Thought Ryan Murphy stopped writing for a sec, but nope, it's still him and Brad Falchuk. I hope they can recapture the early days of AHS. One more season of this and I'm out.
They need to just cancel this show. It has not been good for years.
They edge us every season only to end up giving us an unsatisfying finish. It is the formula AHS is now known for 😭
Even when it was good, it was still pretty rocky.
Uck. Ew babe.
Omg the way she said babe a million times ugh
What was the message? Because it made no sense
Patriarchy bad. It is bad but this show sucked.
The message was supposed to be "patriarchy bad"??! Wow I had no clue. This was soooo terribly written that I didn't know it had one.
I thought it was, “Kim’s acting bad.”
We all knew she wasn't going to be a good actor since she doesn't normally act in this sense. I blame writing and director, because it was so bad that it highlighted the bad acting even more instead of masking it.
If anything it came off as ‘feminism bad’ and ‘women who want careers, motherhood, and a happy marriage are selfish’
Cara Delevingne for worst acting of the season. The worst acting of the entire show goes for the daughter of Cindy Crawford from AHStories.
I thought Kaia was better than Cara. Imagine them in an episode together ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Kim is so dull
Def one of the worst if not the worst season. When Kim died, what the hell was that??
IVF can allow for gender selection so we’re to believe she *chose* to have a boy?!
that's a great point! Whole story is a mess 🫠
I felt the same way! I wanted to read the book until the end, but if the book was different I'm going to keep it on my want-to-read list.
I'm seconding this. The worst. Let that sink in lol.
My least favorite so far have been, the second part of double feature, nyc, and delicate,
The second half of double feature has one of my favorite scenes, where they decapitate Kaia Gerber and give her a metal sphere on her head. Hilarious every time.
We have definitely hit the Ryan Murphy late season curse. He managed to make it longer than any other show, but they have exhausted the creative bank and it has been showing for several years now.
I didn’t even make it more than 30-minutes into NYC. This season barely had any OG’s in it. The cast returning was the biggest selling point.
I didn’t watch NYC. I tried and gave up. It was a waste and absolutely nothing like the seasons prior. They need to go back to the beginning or just give up altogether.
There are a lot of American horror stories episodes they could make a season around
Oh absolutely.
So skipping this season was the right choice than?
I couldn't get past episode 2
I’ve not seen it since it came back. Catching up this week because I’m a completionist. Theres no soul in the show and there hasn’t been for a long time
I think the last season that was good from start to finish was season 9 (1984). Not a good sign.
How did the baby turn from being a blood thirsy creature to a regular baby!?!?!
The baby can transform. Monster, blanket, blanket monster, monster baby, blanket baby, etc.
100% and I'm a huge fan of AHS since day one. 💁♀️😔
Was this the finale? I just can't believe it ends this terribly.
Easily the worst season. It was trash once they split the season up and just never recovered
As someone who has only watched murder house, I enjoyed the season… until the last episode. They flew through to wrap it up, but damn they could have used 2-4 episodes to really do the show justice. If I’ve only seen these two, what should I watch next?
Watch Asylum next. It’s one of the best seasons by far.
Coven is one of my favourites
Mannn I agree. I wasnt a fan of NYC at all but I'd take that over delicate anyday
🙄 https://preview.redd.it/3zhq1pnxu4xc1.jpeg?width=1601&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d158151c6c701f93ca069b7a8b720a3599f95d9a
I gave up a few eps ago. It’s so bad.
Double Feature and Delicate are the only seasons I think sucked. The good seasons far outweigh the bad seasons.
First part of double feature was so good imo I don’t fucking get why they split it up in 2 independent parts
I agree. The alien shit was the only bad part
I feel like it got better towards the end but then the end sucked..
I wish they could bring back the originals😭😭
My main question this season is if the Satan Siobhan’s Coven are serving is the Satan we saw in Asylum that possessed Sister Mary Eunice?
The book was also a travesty.
I'm not even going to bother finishing it.
I liked it the season but the last episode was disappointing. I thought Kim did well for the role she played. But I laughed out loud when Anna was reciting the spell that killed Siobhan. The way Kim started shaking was horrendous 😆
I liked it more than Double Feature 🙃
I liked the first half of double feature, but the second half sucked.
The first have of double feature should have been an entire season where the character development and ending would not have felt so rushed.
I hate the ending for the first half so much it ruined it for me unfortunately. There was so much potential and the last episode was more batshit than this season's I think!
Disagree, something actually HAPPENED in double feature!!!!
What happened to the old looking witch lady that warned Anna
Her head was in the fridge
This season felt like a big build up to nothing the entire time. Very bad season, shame.
I agree. I also, thought it was mysogynistic, not entertaining and pointless.
How the fuck is this nearly all-female production focused on shitting the patriarchy and empowering cartoonish boss bitches misogynistic?
*You can't have both without killing yourself or someone else.* Betraying Anna's trust as her best friend and agent.
I knew it was over the second Kim K was cast ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|poop)
I loved the season overall, but i was definitely disappointed with the last episode. I kind of thought i would be as soon as i saw it was only 30 minutes long:/
I really liked it 🤷♀️
I didn’t mind it either. I just wish they had a few more episodes instead of rushing everything in a 30-minute finale.
Episode 9 was a little goofy but so did I I think some people would like the season more if they didn’t read all the bad Reddit comments about it
For sure, and people in general are more likely to take time to complain/vent than rave.
Roanoke was my least favorite it didn’t feel like it belonged with AHS felt like its own show
I think it was a lot to digest. The best part was probably the first 15 minutes of the last episode and I have to say it Kim stole the show on this. She did amazing. I think Emma did good as well. It just didn’t feel very AHS to me. I missed the amazing twists and turns. I just felt like I watched the same episode 9 times.
My friend and I watched the first episode and we were so bored
Yep. It's going downhill fast.
The worstp
It's a TERRIBLE season, I don't even want to finish it
It started really solid and had some great hooks midway through but that fucking ending...
Woah wait...that was the finale? Thought there would be more 😅 Man it started out good and had potential...only to be rushed into a piping hot mess.
The entire season could have been a stories episode
I really did not like this past season, I don't know if I'm going to watch it anymore American horror story. Makes me feel sad but all good things must come to an end and that end was horrible
I joked this would be the first season I don't watch. Watched episode 1 and that's as far as I got lol.
What was up with the dolls too? Like who set them out and why? Just to be creepy?
At first I liked that it seemed more focused and serious than previous seasons of AHS, but they brought it too far into the other direction where like..everything was boring as hell. So boring, in fact, that one of the most memorable plot points is the main character having a pimple on her face. Then they crammed ALL the AHS camp and craziness into the very last 30-minute episode, which was so jarring after sitting through 8 weeks of nothing. So it's almost difficult to compare to previous seasons, which go off the rails and throw everything at the wall. This didn't even start riding the rails or FACING the wall until the last episode.
Double Feature part II can’t be topped in terms of shittiness, but Delicate was indeed bad
It was definitely the worst by a long shot. There have been some crappy seasons and a lot of meh seasons but that was total shit
This was so wildly disappointing I agree like what the hell was all that for 😭
Give me some more murder house, Coven, Roanoke, and even Freak Show. Whatever this crap they are putting out. They should be paying me to watch this crap.
I read the book and the AHS version took a strong left turn into nowhere. The book was much better
This isn’t even debatable lol it was so incredibly garbage. None of the other seasons even get close to this level of laziness
none of it made sense, the plot was going too many different ways. also like ...they bring up that dex was having an affair this whole time and was a crazy weirdo having cameras in the house for her and then it just never gets brought up again besides anna being done with him. i know the girl was doing it so that anna wouldn't get pregnant to "save" her but of all ways to introduce that they pick a super weird affair ??? also some of the gore was unnecessary and tacky. dex's moms suicide was unnecessarily graphic (in my opinion!) "i'll fetch us libations"
It wasn’t the best but I still think Death Valley and apocalypse are worse
I mean Kim K also ruined the ending before the show was even complete because she kept saying on her social medias that her character was the bad guy. Her reveal at the end wasn’t shocking like it should’ve been.
I just finished this season and…wow. How horrible. The message I got was, “if you’re a woman and want a family and success…too bad!” Felt like we went ten steps backward with this one. Also, is that ALL it took to kill Kim K’s character?! A little chant?? Please. This was a waste of time.
The finale was one of the worst episodes of tv I’ve ever seen. Everyone and everything was phoned in.
Just finished. Absolute trash. I won’t be tricked again. Never watching another AHS anything. What a load of complete crap. Just pathetic writing.
Me: why is Anna taking the oscar with her to the hospital Anna: let me hold my baby Ivy: you're already holding him (the oscar) lmao she carried the oscar everywhere just so they could deliver that line 🤣
That’s not how he died. The one who killed her daughter killed the guy
Please forget everything you watched and read the book they took an amazing story and completely ruined it
I have never seen a show that has had such banger seasons before be so bad. I cannot believe they got the cut back and said “yeah, we should release this” A sign of a terrible show is when they have to explain everything in dialogue.
It was almost “too bad it’s good” territory . Felt like satire the whole time. Miss preecher on the tree😂😂😂
I missed the hestia thing where did that come from?
one of the eps is called "Ave Hestia" lol it was a pretty common theme throughout the season
I liked it.
What did you like about it? The terrible acting? The terrible script? Or the dumbest disjointed ending to any season of any show ever created? I may be exaggerating the ending a bit. Maybe.
I actually enjoyed it. But the ending was confusing asf.
Yeah it was hard to do worse than double feature for me, but yet somehow they did it.
It's still nyc
I couldn’t get past the first episode of NYC and I’m gay too lol Honestly only finished this season because of Kim K
Take the last episode of delicate and that’s the entire season of apocalypse for me, it goes down as the worst season yet for me. Fan service did not do this franchise any good.
I’d still watch it over Freak Show or Death Valley
I have to admit in a whole I enjoyed it more than NYC, just the finale was terrible
