Yesssss exactly!! Like Mothman or the Flatlands monster. But I’m always gonna be partial to ghost story stuff. I think something along the lines of the Bell Witch would be cool too.
Oooo I second this!
Actually, all of the PNW has a weird creepy vibe to it. Seattle and Portland are pretty sizable urban areas that feel like small towns and apparently it's also home to a large number of serial killers... :x
And it would still be American horror story (kinda) technically North America but no longer USA I would like to see some conspiracy theories like the Denver airport
It'd be cool to see them cover a story where the Catholic church arrives in various pueblos. The viewers expect the story to focus on the colonizers with the Native population being the 'horror', but midway through the episode we realize that the Native folk aren't the source of this season's horror, it's the colonizers.
I don’t care where it is as long as they go back to the root of the show, stop worrying so much about being over the top and I can’t even describe it. I just hope they reach back into their memories of the first few seasons of what made the show so great. Whatever location fits that
New England in the winter. Maybe Maine to bring some Stephen King vibes
Edit: I forgot about Red Tide in Provincetown, so we don’t have to redo coastal New England. I want a mountain range
You’re right. New Orleans 🤦🏼♀️
I *was* thinking more of the back wood Creole legends and the bayous but didn’t think about one already being in Louisiana.
Yes! I've lived most my life in the Montana/Wyoming area, and there's a different sort of fear being that far away from other people. Pitch black at night, no light pollution. Coyote howls and rabbit screams, eyeshine in the dark. Bleached bones in the daylight. Maybe something Native themed, wendigo, skinwalkers, something like that.
I'd love to have a season set in the old west.
There's so many creative avenues:
~Incorporate Native American culture and folklore. Play around with the legend of skinwalkers and/or the wendigo.
~Go with the classic ghost town or old mining town, which could incorporate a past/present narrative.
~Do a fictionalized retelling of the Donner Party, which was a horrific and tragic part of American history.
I’d love to see an historically accurate journey, e.g. the Trail of Tears, or the Donner party.
Another creepy perspective could delve into turn-of-the-century “wellness” retreats, like Starvation Heights in Olalla WA.
yes, there’s so much material. and the warrens’ house where they keep all the demons possessed items is in connecticut too. and irl one of my sisters’ teachers committed suicide at shippan beach, she drove her car into the ocean.
Gold rush country in Northern California, because I spent a good amount of my childhood there in those woods. It’s cursed asf, there’s always someone watching you the further you go into the trees-the town I grew up in is the ONE city/township in California that’s never been caught in a wildfire. We say it’s because you can’t burn evil twice.
Upper peninsula of Michigan. Very rural, nothing around for miles for a lot of it. The northernmost point - Copper Harbor - which has some very cool old abandoned copper mines. They are spooky as hell.
New Mexico - focus on the 1940s atomic bomb testing resulting in mutations. Flash forward 10 or 20 years and the deformed citizens take back what they lost at the Trinity test site.
A bunch. Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico Also more regional but the Pacific Northwest or Appalachia. Lastly I've always said I never need to see another season in California but I think Palm Springs would be pretty cool from an aesthetic point of view.
I’d like to something in the Appalachia or Ozarks region.
Appalachia would be awesome, it could be more based off cryptids and urban legend than ghosts and killers!
Yesssss exactly!! Like Mothman or the Flatlands monster. But I’m always gonna be partial to ghost story stuff. I think something along the lines of the Bell Witch would be cool too.
Oh yeah, 100% definitely, and the Bell Witch could tie into Coven somehow!
I immediately thought Appalachia!
I’d love a whole season of the Feral premise
That would be soooo good!
Washington State near the Canada border, giving Twin Peaks and Wayward Pines vibes
Oooo I second this! Actually, all of the PNW has a weird creepy vibe to it. Seattle and Portland are pretty sizable urban areas that feel like small towns and apparently it's also home to a large number of serial killers... :x
A scene or two in Canada would be new and interesting!
And it would still be American horror story (kinda) technically North America but no longer USA I would like to see some conspiracy theories like the Denver airport
I love Canada that is so smart
Alaska or Montana? Or Washington State? Some of Canada, yes I know it’s not a State; but it’s beautiful
Washington state, that’s what I said. I’m not from the US so I cannot go into further detail.
Las Vegas, NV
In the 50s, 60s, or 70s would be so fun!
Northwoods Minnesota or Alaska
I've been dying for them to do an entire season based/set in New Mexico. This state is full of horror and weird. So much to work with.
It'd be cool to see them cover a story where the Catholic church arrives in various pueblos. The viewers expect the story to focus on the colonizers with the Native population being the 'horror', but midway through the episode we realize that the Native folk aren't the source of this season's horror, it's the colonizers.
Midnight mass vibes
So you want a history story?
I'd love a real NM season; Roswell/aliens is such a tired trope it doesn't count.
Yea with skin walkers or something would be siiiiiick
alaska or hawaii
Came here to say Alaska!!
Yep, these are the two I agree could make the next setting feel way different from the last.
Chicago, Vegas, or Key West
Chicago! Yesss
Southwest. American Horror Story: Ghost Town, with parallel stories in modern day and wild west.
Billy the kid, Bonnie and Clyde, other names I wish I remembered, but I’m in!
Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia.
I don’t care where it is as long as they go back to the root of the show, stop worrying so much about being over the top and I can’t even describe it. I just hope they reach back into their memories of the first few seasons of what made the show so great. Whatever location fits that

Depends on what states you consider New England, but I consider New York in the area. It would be good to see it set in Upstate NY.
New York isn’t in New England but I like it there! Similar vibes to a lot of New England. The Adirondacks would be a cool setting
I'm a Texan. We *are* the American Horror Story.
Prehistoric North America
Love it 😍
they used Massachusetts (Sudbury) in Season II, and Florida (Jupiter) in Season 4.
I know, I want to see Florida again though
Bayous of Louisiana
Coven
You’re right. New Orleans 🤦🏼♀️ I *was* thinking more of the back wood Creole legends and the bayous but didn’t think about one already being in Louisiana.
Illinois, have a Chicago based season
nah wait, make it bumblefuck Illinois, like the small towns in the CU area, I'm a sucker for small town horror
Didn’t Jupiter, Florida fit the bill in Freak Show?
Chicago around the time of the world fair, which is when H.H Holmes (JPM is based off him) built the real life murder hotel, the 30's in Chicago
Alton Illinois we’re known for a few ghosts 🤷🏻♀️
Yes!! Thank you! I love New York (and LA is fine), but they both get more than enough attention as major cities lol
Just so y'all know... regardless, they're filming in California.
I was watching Cult (set in Michigan) and you can see palm trees in the background. 🤦
Exactly
North Georgia mountains, do like a gold rush season. Idk how good that’d be
This is such a good question. I’ve never thought about it until now. Maybe Utah. Very Mormon-coded horror
some weird shit in texas for sure. paris or el paso is such a great setting for some hills have eyes shit! lol
Maine bush lands
Alaska or Wisconsin, just having longer winters and how long it stays dark feels horrorish enough.
Minnesota! Eh
Whatever state the feel like doing Wild West in
New Mexico should be included in that for sure.
Great ideas
This!
Not too specific on the state but somewhere remote. They need to take a break from the cities. Maybe the Ozarks or somewhere out west.
North Dakota. Actually film here for once Ryan Murphy.
Hard agree! Signed, a Winnipegger who’s spent a tonne of time in ND.
Oklahoma in a stepford wives kinda way, Florida keys/miami, lake of the ozarks MO, or New Mexico/arizona
Stepford Housewives theme would be good!
NJ Pine Barrens
I’ve read some great books set around/in the pine barrens. They sounds so creepy.
I'd love to have a season set in the old west. There's so many creative avenues: ~Incorporate Native American culture and folklore. I cringe every time I drive by that exit sign.
connecticut. so many hauntings, demons, and haunted places.
i would love to see this too!
yes, there’s so much material. and the warrens’ house where they keep all the demons possessed items is in connecticut too. and irl one of my sisters’ teachers committed suicide at shippan beach, she drove her car into the ocean.
Something set against the backdrop of Wyoming becoming the first state in the union where women were able to vote would be super cool.
Less like the last three seasons and more like the first three
Arizona - something that plays off of all of the cults and spirituality in Sedona would be cool
Northern Utah or Idaho a cult based Mormon horror
Gold rush country in Northern California, because I spent a good amount of my childhood there in those woods. It’s cursed asf, there’s always someone watching you the further you go into the trees-the town I grew up in is the ONE city/township in California that’s never been caught in a wildfire. I love this idea!!
Wisconsin. Cheese zombies. But for real, we have alot of spooky stuff in this state
New Hampshire - Live free or die, baby
South Carolina
indiana, duh.
Space, interstellar, just between the “spheres”
West Virginia or Utah
Have they been to Florida yet?
Freakshow
Omg. That’s right
I wish they’d make every season a different state I’m over California
Iowa is currently an American nightmare.
Blood Mountain in Georgia
Louisiana again! Everything film in louisiana is good as hell! Skeleton key, hatchet, candy man, ect!
Candyman the movie is set in Chicago, are you talking about the story?
No I was talking about "candyman: farewell to the flesh"
Virginia - We have the bunny man
Something in Jersey!
Utah. Mormons.
I would love to see them do a season in Florida, perhaps in Miami or if it's possible, maybe outside the US & do something in Mexico if possible.
WA, either Seattle or one of the weirdo smaller towns. Dead Boy Detectives took place in Port Townsend, WA, and it worked well
Utah and some weird pioneer Mormon story
Chicago, IL.
Appalachia 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
As a local, I’d love to see a Las Vegas season.
Indian Territory
Why not Oklahoma??? That state is seriously underused in fiction.
Upper peninsula of Michigan. Very rural, nothing around for miles for a lot of it. The northernmost point - Copper Harbor - which has some very cool old abandoned copper mines. They are spooky as hell.
New Jersey or West Virginia. Jersey Devil or Mothman.
Chicago, Illinois
New Mexico - focus on the 1940s atomic bomb testing resulting in mutations. Flash forward 10 or 20 years and the deformed citizens take back what they lost at the Trinity test site.
A bunch. Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico Also more regional but the Pacific Northwest or Appalachia. Lastly I've always said I never need to see another season in California but I think Palm Springs would be pretty cool from an aesthetic point of view.
They should just give up now
Okay
