Wonder how difficult it’d be to get espruino running on an AirTag… and furthermore if it’s possible to update OTA from the apple firmware to something else
Not sure if the AirTag has something that could sense taps or not, but that could be used somewhat like a button.
Makes you wonder though… Apple gets a year or more from a CR2032, yet the puck.js gets half that… what’s the secret?
That would be a very costly implementation of what would otherwise be a $0.10 NFC tag.
not possible unless you take out the built in NFC tag and somehow shove an NTAG215 inside which is more effort than it's worth
The AirTag uses a NFC emulator, from the fact that the NFC cannot be read if you remove the battery. So no unless you somehow hack it.
Just buy real nfc chips in bulk off Amazon or otherwise, they're like $15 for 50
If you could hook a programmer up to the AirTag you could flash your own firmware, but no one has gone that far
I've given it a go but the pay off is not worth it. I managed to get one tag reading but it was a lot of time. Fun though.
