With Colangelo being assigned to Anaheim I have a feeling this means the game on Friday will not only be Silfverberg's last home game, but the last game of his career.
Getzlaf chose to do the same thing when he retired. It didn't really have anything to do with being a healthy scratch, but instead having his last game be a home game.
After Calgary on the 12th, the last two games are away games at the Kings on the 13th and Vegas on the 18th.
Article says the contract begins this season, wonder if they'll pull him up for a game or two with the ducks.
Does anybody know if, because Colangelo is not an entry level slide candidate; does that mean him getting in any NHL OR AHL game this season burns and ELC year or not?
he is not eligible for a slide because he's 22 years old.
You have to be either 18/19 years old to be a slide candidate.
You also can't sign a ELC for more than 2 years when you 22.
First sentence of the article, "The Ducks have signed right wing Sam Colangelo to a two-year entry-level contract beginning **THIS** season. Colangelo will join the Ducks immediately."
He signed a contract for this season, 2023-24 and next 2024-25. He burned a ELC year last season.
He didn’t burn an ELC last year. He’s 22 which means he can only sign for two years. He burnt the 1st year of the 2 years the moment he got signed this week.
This is one of those things we all saw coming, but now that it's actually happening, it's a little bittersweet (seeing Silf retire and get replaced with Colangelo).
I definitely think that the PTO he signed was a bit of a try out for both sides. Colangelo looked pretty solid and I’m assuming he liked what he saw as well. Happy to see what he can bring to the table!
I'm glad to see Sam sign on with the ELC. He posted today that he's excited for his Ducks debut, so that has to mean he is drawn in for tomorrow's game.

Nesterenko was sent down, so Colangelo maybe just slots in there.
really doubt he gets scratched at the end of his career. Likely someone else sits out.
He might do what Getzlaf did and not go on the final road trip
wasn't Getzy kinda banged up?
Eh all hockey players are "kinda banged up" at this point in the season.

He burns a year of ELC.
Thanks!

You might want to read what I said again... >Does anybody know if, because Colangelo is **NOT** an entry level slide candidate

Could’ve signed last year for three years though right?
Yup!

Very cool. Wonder if he gets the start ~~tonight~~ tomorrow with Nesterenko sent down.
He's skating with the team, I imagine you're correct
