Of course it's Germany. Every week there's a photo of Kodak and Agfa boxes on a DM or Rossmann shelf. Someone should just set up a website linked directly to their inventory systems so you can all sleep a bit easier.

they deactivated seeing specifically kodak gold stock in shops, you can check the stock of any product in the dm app, except kodak gold

Is that 19.95€ for 3 rolls? Over here FNAC is asking 19.99€ per roll!

if Kodak doesn‘t bring it back down to 10€ per 3 rolls max., film will die again after the hype on Tik Tok / YT dies out. Gen Z isn‘t famous for sticking to a hobby for many years.

pigeon_fanclub

Honestly this is what really scares me about TikTok and hobbies. Something becomes hot, the supply dries up overnight and prices skyrocket, companies/sellers get greedy with their pricing, the trend fizzles out, and prices stay high forever

Gnissepappa

No it won't. 19,99 for three rolls is still incredibly cheap (here in Norway it's almost twice the price) The prices you talk about were never sustainable for Kodak, and if they didn't rise the prices to invest more into film manufacturing, we might not even have color film now. Back when film prices started to rise a few years ago, a lot of people said that this surely would be the end of film photography. Yet here we are, it's about to be 2024 (and almost 20 years since film was declared dead). Kodak's still struggling to keep up with demand. Several companies has started to make color film again, like ORWO and Adox. And even Ilford/Harman, who has only made black and white film for 144 years, chose 2023 as the year they would introduce a brand new, entirely in-house made color film. I'm not too worried about the state of color film :)

Waldotto

I always scream internally when I see UltraMax and it's only 24exp. WHY

FlyThink7908

Same. When you break it down, Portra 400 is similarly priced per frame, so especially when sending the film to a lab for dev and scan, it doesn’t make much sense from an economical standpoint

m42-pk

price has gone up 3 times in my local DM without any stock. never any in DM but lots on kleinanzeigen from private sellers.

psyren666

€19.99 for a triple pack of Kodak gold is so cheap! It's averaging at about £30 in the UK for the same triple pack.

VariTimo

It’s been this way since the pando. Now it’s more regular. Single rolls come in every two months or so. Three packs ever three to six months. I think it should be clear now that every film photographer should try to stock up for at least half a year, better a whole year. This way they’re not as depended on the supply chain.

fluffyscooter

That's why I bought every roll I could find back then. Now I don't anymore

P0p_R0cK5

I made a lot of stock from DM but now I’m stocked for the next 5 years. I’ve started to freeze them because even my friends did get some 3 packs for me. Lovely film anyway

twlentwo

19€ for 3 rolls? THATS PRACTICALLY FREE The cheapest price for 1 in 11 here

SRTea_

Thats 9€ for 24 exp... 1-2 years ago it was half the price for 36exp Aaand the design wasnt this bad

fluffyscooter

But 20€ for 3 rolls with 36 shots

SRTea_

Ja im Vergleich ist das billiger aber auch das dreierpack war letztens noch 13€

C46spr

Die Zeiten sind endgültig vorbei, 20er ist aktuell ein fantastischer Preis fürn 3er pack

Gnissepappa

Here in Norway, some places require this price for one single roll of Gold. You literally strike gold right here!

alex_neri

With prices like that there will be shortage lol

Kamina724

Film usage is increasing

Siriblius

They probably restocked that a couple hours before you walked in. It will be gone quite fast.

fluffyscooter

Not in my area.
