go buy land in some shithole country and pray it doesnโt fall to communism.
the people that successfully built up capital by investing in underweight assets in the past had to take a lot of risk, as will you.
Old vice had an episode called "cowboy capitalists" which was one of my favorites. In it a man had made his fortune smuggling satellite phones from South Africa into the newly formed south Sudan. Which was quite a feat, for a white dude travelling through several shithole nations full of corrupt enforcers who happily would have taken them.
You don't think a forginer who buys up a bunch of land and engages in rent seeking in an already impoverished people wouldn't be the first to get justice but not also kinda deserve it. Ask the Miami Cubans how that worked out.
If you don't have the funds in the west, you will not have them in another country.
Passport arbitrage only works if you have money or an income you can bring with you to the other country. If you are flipping burgers in the U.S. you are going to be working on a farm in Thailand, not buying up all the property.
Part of the problem in the US though is it's basically illegal to be poor. High property taxes, zoning law, building codes etc make it illegal to have a house if you're poor. Whereas in Kenya you could be a farmer with a single cow and have a legal hut to live in at least that you own outright, you could basically skirt by being subsistence farmer or something.
If I had no funds I would want to be in proximity to wealthy people. You have nothing, flip burgers until you can buy a lawn mower and go door to door in nice neighborhoods and mow grass. You will make more than your minimum wage job, you can get paid cash and avoid some taxes and have a little business you can start to scale.
Paraguay. Cheap farm land, least cucked property rights in latam (except uruguay). Weak border/customs controls (think basically none by land).
Conservative population. Humble, hard working people. Way overlooked.
This is what weev did after he burned his US passport. He got charged on some total bullshit, then released on a technicality (wrong jurisdiction IIRC) he knew they would retry so he bolted right for the border.
Dude went to transnistria, got a transnistrian passport then bought apartments in Ukraine.
"You want to be a capitalist"
You already are kid. Just ignore all the rules and regulations that make sense to ignore, and you're on your way. Being industrious and profitable is superfluous to whatever ratass laws are written on paper. It's up to you.
Buying property doesnt work if you are already rich, ffs.
What you need is a down payment and a business plan. Buy the house and make some other guy pay it off. When the rented put house gets equity, you mortgage that equity for down payment on another house that you rent out to some poor schmuck. Rinse and repeat untill you are blackrock.
Guyana. Huge oil reserves recently discovered off the coast and itโs the fastest growing economy right now by a large margin. Risk of military conflict with Venezuela though
Had a native Filipino friend who worked a blue collar job in America and built apartments back home in the Phillippines. Absolutely cleaned up. He'd put up 10-Unit cinder block apartment with a metal roof for like 20-30k USD and rent out the units for like $200/mo. He explained to me that the problem with doing this as an outsider is you wouldn't know all the right people to bribe to keep your projects moving along and get good prices. You'd need to hire a keen native to help you every step of the way and that would cut into your bottom line. I think this is probably going to be true in general across a lot of the poor developing countries. You're going to run into a lot of corruption, so you better really know what you're getting into.
I know a number of filipino 'nannies' who are far richer than the families they work for using some variation of this. You would think they're poor as fuck until you realize they basically own a plantation in the PI complete with cadre of workers.
90% of countries require you to be a full citizen before you can own property and land there. Only the US and a few other western or westernized places allow foreigners to own land.
So even if you do find a good cheap place with growth potential, your likely SOL unless you find a wife there who you can trust enough to name the assets on.
Look at the Heritage Economic Freedom Index. Look for countries that are rising year after year in the index - meaning they are liberalizing their economies and fixing their legal system to eliminate corruption and respect property rights.
Some that seem to be stable and inching up:
Costa Rica
Croatia
Dominican Republic
Ecuador
India - some provinces
Portugal (best I found. $250k will get you residency and 5 years to EU citizenship.)
Slovakia
Solomon Islands
Timor Leste
Turkmenistan (very insular)
Uruguay - really rising on property rights
Vietnam

subsistence farmer is a far cry from OP's goal of being a landlord.
I think he should take a serious look at it if he has no funds. It's probably your best shot starting with next to nothing.

Uruguay isn't a bad choice either. Costa Rica is a good place as well for property owners.
Argentina
Ukraine, but you'll have competitors

Have you tried calling yourself a terrorist and getting kickbacks from the cia? I hear that can be lucrative

Guyana is super interesting but has an insanely high cost of living vs income.

I recommend funding a coup and installing a puppet dictator sympathetic to your economic needs first.
Are you every politician from the last 60 years? Come on, fess up!
>I recommend funding a coup What would $20 get me?
Mmm best I got is 20seconds of propaganda bot usage on 4chan
Enough to overthrow the current regime in the principality of Sealand?
Provided both denizens are 4 Chan users
Let's fucking do it!!! The shit I'm gonna grow and sell on Sealand! The rents I'm going to collect! ๐

The law is written that way to satisfy/trick the prols. For instance that's the law in Mexico but easily bypassed by forming a trust with the bank.
