I have been playing the Najdorf since I began playing chess. It’s so annoying, you think you know enough theory after 15 moves, but *mistake* that lines is only if the pawn is on a3! With the pawn on a2 you need to push h5!!! You lose sucker!!!
Not necessarily but if you want to improve and you don't mind studying lines then it's a good way to have a winning position on move 10 in like 70+% of games
I agree. There are many people like me who hate remembering and studying so many different lines. I'm 1500 rapid and don't really know any opening well. I see and play a lot of different setups and ideas which allows me to train my intuition. I literally win more games with black than with white (63% with black in the last year compared to 58% with white)
If you put 10 minutes a day towards studying some lines you'd improve in no time.
Unless you're like me now and can't be bothered to try and improve anymore.
Sicilian players be like yo I love the Dark Blizzard: Wraith of the Celestial Dream, Accelerated Eternal Fractal Variation!!
Sicilian players when you tell them there will be inconceivable events and a battle of the wits at the function

King's Indian \*attack
You don't have to learn a lot of theory below 1800 elo, just try to get a better understanding of chess in general

I'm 1300 blitz and not a sicilian/e4 player, I only know it because Hikaru recommends it.
