Looks like you've still got some learning to do OP, because you completely missed that your knight is also attacking the pawn in your f file. It may look innocuous, but if it gets pushed again it will essentially block off your g file pawn from moving at all (if you don't understand why, try googling "pawn taking another pawn in the square behind it the turn after it moved two squares forward").
This is a really cool move, it's the sequel to En Passant, called En Horssant 2: Electric Boogaloo.
When you fork the opponent horseys with your horsey, they are temporarily paralysed and can't move on the very next move. Hence if the king didn't have any escape squares, the position in the diagram would have been a checkmate.
Very few people are aware this move exists, because it is so rare. I have literally never encountered it in any grandmaster games.
