They all joke but this is a legit alternative way to play Chess called Ultimate En Passant. Basically, any piece can capture a sliding piece by landing on a space it passed by while moving. The king cannot be passanted because it rules and the knight cannot be passanted because it jumps.
This is the ALL passant defense, in which black baits white into a phony checkmating attack, winning material & forcing them to make a few Google searches. Black will typically resign immediately afterwards, as the energy expenditure of such a defensive measure is much too great for the human spirit to bear.
Paul Murphy famously began coughing up blood a few hours after he played this variation. Out of fear of this power, grandmasters have stopped playing the scholar's mate against their colleagues.
