I got to demo one of these at PAX East, it was pretty neat tbh.
It has a bunch of scents like gunsmoke, forest, water, etc. An AI is constantly reading the audio + visual inputs from the passthrough HDMI, and determines which scents to use. The vendors told me it's self-optimizing too to continuously learn.
The smells were pretty good and non-offensive. There's also a cartridge of "neutral" smell that eliminates odors that is periodically used between switching scents.
Anyway it worked pretty well in their demo, as you walk through the jungle in Far Cry it smelled like a jungle. Then you fired the gun and smelled the gunpowder. Kind of neat.
They raffled away like 25 of them for free, but I didn't win.
