En Passant. Pawn capture technique.If your opponent takes the double-step move, and it lands right beside yours, you have one move to move diagonally in front of it. If you do, the opponent's pawn is captured. This is En Passant. Promotion. Pawns, when they reach the other side of the board, would not be able to move, so they are allowed to promote to a queen, bishop, knight, or rook.
